I find it interesting how riderless horse eased himself after the finish, just as any horse with a rider would do. He sure knows his lessons!

@@elizabethferguson7002 Often times, a riderless horse heads for the track exit for the barns. This guy didn't start to ease until he was in front going down the stretch (raised his ears), then he pulled up after the finish. For a horse with such a short record, he really knows his lessons.

@@elainegratz3797 for sure he could've split the gap if he wasn't interested. He certainly has some racehorse in him. He was in the race, feeling good about himself. But if he had 120 pounds he would've never would've passed those horses with ease. Like I said that's the whole idea behind Handicaps. Weights assigned according to past performances. Never seen a loose horse come so close to winning. That was a Secretariat like move on the backstretch. Of course he had a slight weight break but still. If he just could have rated himself a bit more he would have held off the winner.

Nailed the .10 super in this one, payout felt a little light but sometimes thats how the pools work i guess. Maybe the Pat Day Mile for the top 4. Nothing derby worthy in this one.

NATE didn’t have the full weight of the jockey on him🏇butt on the saddle and also the jockeys are small. .He also didn’t have a jockey settling him. No matter. He stayed safe by himself. He maneuvered by himself and eased up. He didn't need the stick to get him going to complete the win. I believe the winner would have lost without the stick.

Wait. Did you just say that jockeys don't put their full weight on the horse? What?! The laws of gravity cease to exist on a jockey's body? Go ahead and explain to us all how a human being can sit on something and not allow all of their weight to be applied. 😆 I screen shot that. LOL. I"m gonna make a meme.

@@coollady2179 OK cool lady . Tell me which jockey fully sits on the saddle and doesn't lean forward ? Of course the reason for this is so the horse has less weight from the jockey so he can go faster.

@@coollady2179 Ok Cool Lady. Thank you so much for all the info that I already know. Let's go back to Man O War. Once they saw how great he was they started imposing higher weight to make it Fair for the other horses. That's why his owner retired him. Phar Lap the same. That's why the owner sent him over to the states for his last race that sadly killed him. Secretariat carried 130 pounds easy quoted Ron Turcotte. If a female horse runs against the males she runs with less weight to make it fair. Yes I do know they have to weigh themselves after a race holding thier saddle. There are pacesetters routers stalkers front runners and come from behind horses like ZENYATTA And RICH STRIKE. RACHEL ALEXANDRA is a speedy frontrunner like Ruffian was. Even though Nate lost his jockey he still carried his weights. His advantage was Less weight but the other horses also had guidance from thier jockey . My point and everyone else's point if you read the comments we all agree that was a great race from a loose horse. No it doesn't count. I believe if he hadn't lost his jockey he would have won. He didn't give up. He lost his rider. It was a muddy field. He caught up went wide and then switched to the rail and when Cain challenged he responded. Sadly it doesnt count but it does with me and other fans. Unfortunately Nate doesnt know about the jockey rule. You cant win without one but he does know about winning. Its not like he threw his jockey and had a easy breeze through the race. He worked his butt off and the only horse that challenged him was the long shot. He also came into the race undefeated and has great pedigree. He stayed safe along with the others. So thank you so much for the horse history lesson and Good luck in the Kentucky Derby. 🏇👑🏆✨️🌹🥰🥳🎰🎱🎲🃏😎

LOL. Of course the jockeys put their full weight on the horse. Where do you think that weight goes? Yes, most of the weight is held by the stirrups, but the stirrups are attached to the saddle, the saddle is on the horse.

@@Racingdudes you are not too bright are you? When the video was uploaded, not everyone knew the results. Many people like to watch the race NOT KNOWING who won. I make a very good living running channels for clients, and with this type of channel you should not put the winner of the race in the title of the video. You can put names of horses in the title in case someone is searching for a horse in a particular race - but not who actually won. Just common sense. Now learn something here: Title: 2023 Gotham Stakes Replay - And Then A Few Of The Big Names in the Race But do not mention who the winner was. Description: In the description give a short little write up about all of the horses in the race and the importance of winning the Gotham (for points, etc.) but do NOT give the winner. There is no need to give the winner in the title or the description. It ruins the video for many. The reason you mention some of the horses in the title, and all of the horses in the description, is because some people search for a particular horse instead of the race. You can only put so much in the title, but the description allows for far more. There should also be other links in the description to prominent races related to the 2023 Kentucky Derby and the Gotham. This can make a big big difference for your channel. Also, determine where you want most of the traffic from the video to go to. You then put that website in the very first line of the description so it can be seen. I guarantee there are plenty of people that did not know who the winner was and wanted to watch the race NOT knowing who the winner was - and you spoiled it in the title. Don't do that! You can thank me later when you have much more than 9.42k subscribers. I wish you luck with your channel, this type of channel, if done right, can make you are HUGE amount of money down the road. But respect your potential viewers. When I am looking for race results to watch, whether they are an hour old or a month old, I do not want to see the winner in the title - and many many people are like me.
