2023 Fur Prices in Two Minutes!

Спорт

It's hard to compress all of the fur prices and market information in a short video, but a lot of people don't want to watch a half hour vid on the fur market, so here's a super condensed version. Please check out my long form fur market video for a much more detailed explanation and background. Thanks!

Making it hurt for 2 minutes instead of 35. 😂 Some people can’t take the pain.

Maybe next season a coon might bring a whole dollar, muskrat a dime, if I'm lucky maybe I'll get to drive 50 miles to lug a 50 pound beaver through a briar thicket for 2 whole dollars. Oh boy!! I can't wait!!

Sad, but no surprise. Glad I didn't trap. The bait and switch tactics of some fur buyers just before trapping season trick some into only filling the freezers of the buyer for next to nothing. I say let them stay empty for years until they pay what it's really worth!

Id like to know who's paying that for western pups. They not paying that here nor have they been top grade furs they might offer u 10 15 if your lucky. But there's the typical oh its not worth anything but id take it. Mhm. This why I put my own up and cut out the middle man.

Western coyotes refers to the top quality montana/wyoming/Dakota types that were averaging 70 to 100 a couple years ago. If you got 10-15 the past few years I'd expect the same this year if you can find someone to buy them.

@Trapping Today been doing this a long time I know what a western coyote is my coyote trapping and hunting is all threw out Wyoming Montana and a couple other states depending on time of year. In the video the comment I would need to watch again was listed upwards 40. I'm sitting on a pile of pelts I tan and make my own items to get better price because the market has gone to hell. I can get more by doing a little more work. This is just the coyotes as well. What I'm saying is if someone is paying 40 for top grade l-ll id like to know who. I also trap a lot of other species raccoons I don't even try to sell and I've got over 200 put up. Just sad to a lot of us in this part of the country especially when not long ago a buyer would pay 45 to 60 a yote not even fleshed out. Sold a lot 8 years ago all Wyoming Montana yote pelts averaged 90 between 64 of them. Now last two buyers tried offering me 5$ and 7$ average on a large collection of top grade. I'll wipe my ass with a grade lll before I stop laughing and even consider that.

@joshuaunterseher3693 the most recent Idaho and Montana fur auctions averaged 25 to 30 on coyotes, with a lot of poor ones thrown in. A few trappers averaged much better than that for good quality. But I get it....frustrating.
