2023 FL5 SPOON CIVIC TYPE R SETUP // HOW TO INSTALL SPRINGS IN TWO HOURS // EASIER THAN FK8 SPRING

Wasup guys its PK,
Today we link up with TEAM Adobo as we install spoon springs on Lemz new FL5. Overall the car is stiff in stock form, after install spoon springs it actually made is softer [in a good way]. For those with an fk8, it feels like a stock form fk8 which is pretty comfortable considering a balance of planted yet dailyable. It lowered the rear alot more than the front causing the the entire car look like its sagging.
After driving it for 200 miles and alignment it still sat in this position. With Lemz not happy, decided to remove the springs and install fk8 swift springs. Note although fk8 springs / coilovers fit FL5 the spring rates are meant for fk8 and may not offer the best balance for track considering the weight difference.

Okay I just did this same install over the weekend… Key detail on making that slipper kick so easy to drop the knuckle…you have to undo both left and right endlinks…if not the sway bar will hit the axle

Nice video. Didn't know that the rear springs are not attached to the shock body.

Thanks for the video. Did you guys remove the rear shocks to cut the bump stops? I've read a lot that the rear looks lower with Spoon springs. That's too bad because I want that balance of street and track (I only do a few track days per year). I don't want a big drop so the Spoon 20mm is nice.

hello, no we did not, in the near end of video we show the process. With the wheel off and you follow the shock upwards, there is a rubber/plastic dust cover. After loosening the cover, you can move it upwards and see the bumps which you can cut it from there. Do not do the extra work of removing the shock.

Love the videos, but just want to lend a quick tip for people wrenching on their own cars. I saw something worth mentioning in the video when you tossed a 17mm bolt on the ground. Tossing critical bolts on the concrete like that can damage the threads, thereby causing potential difficulty/damage to the components during reinstallation (if bolts are intended to be reused), and inaccurate torque readings. Love the videos again, keep them coming!
