What a great presentation/review video. I have viewed many of your presentations/reviews and they are exceptional an must see for the audience contemplating purchase of HU`s - Thank you so very much and with this you made my day! I have (finally) concluded based on your presentation on the one to suit me. I hesitated on a 360 version but you made me tip over to that "camp."

I picked up one of these head units for my honda jazz and I love it! I'm still installing the 360 cameras but it's a great improvement and really modernises what was otherwise a regular old car. The subwoofer really helps with the audio too, I think the controls for the subwoofer (and audio) are well thoughtout too, I did have lower expectations for it when I ordered the unit.

DONT BOTHER I GOT A UNIT PLUS ALL THE EXTRAS BESEL WAS WARPED AND PAINT MISSING AND ALSO UNIT WAS GLITCHING ALL THE TIME..THEY OFFERD $4 THEN $10!dollars then when AliExpress stepped in they withdrew their $10 and Ali gave me $49...I paid $320 delivered and it's sat collecting dust. .FUCK YOU EKIY ..YOUVE SCAMMED OTHERS ...

Depending on the supplier, they provide the canbus for the unit that requires it.

Really appreciate how thorough your reviews are. Do you know whether it's possible to use apple carplay wired only? And whether it will tether data from the phone? And for the DVR cameras; do you need to buy the 360 kit and the DVR kit and put them together, or could you just buy the DVR kit with the front and rear and then buy a couple side view camera and attach them? It didn't look like the DVR kit came with the right dongle for 360 camera. Thank you!

From my experience some Android TV boxes comes with a weird version of Google Play that doesn't have many apps available. Other than that the review is really great. I purchased the EKIY K5, 8G 128G head unit for my Subaru Crossterk XV 2014, it's actually the entire front bazel of the vents/radio/climate control. I'm a 50 year old female that decided to upgrade the head unit by myself, not really knowing much. Today I installed it and iit seems to be working so I think I did the install correct. The hardest part was talking the car apart to take out the old radio. I do have a couple of plugs from the old radio that didn't get used but I don't see anything missing in the new radio so I'm thinking everything is connected thru the harnesses that came with the EKIY head unit, steering wheel control is working, voice control, reverse camera, on board Diagnostic, GPS, 4G antenna, two USB connect. I have to figure out how to connect the original USB in the armrest, maybe I don't need a total of 3 USB and I can skip that one. It had the 360cameras but I didn't order that because I'm too old school😂. So far I haven't found anything that is a problem with it, I'm very happy with the unit and it looks nice, it looks like it came with the car and not an after market radio. Some things in the settings I don't know what they are and what they mean but with time I'll google them and learn. I paid about $270.

Thanks for a great review. The biggest question I have is how does the sound quality of the EKIY, Mekede and Teyes CC3 compare? Are they pretty much the same or there significant differences. They all have canbus integration and use Android so UI is similar. Teyes has definitely enhanced their UI and is more fancy than others but they all seem to have decent UI. Again thanks for the reviews, they are detailed and very informative.

Hi Saab Unleashed, and thanks for all your great review videos. Ive ordered one of these units for my 2016 Jeep Renegade Limited 2.0 Diesel along with the DAB dongle. I will likely need to use an aerial amplifier which will need a 12V accessory feed. Do you know if the wiring looms that come with the kit will include a 12V accessory wire that I could either use or tap into to power the aerial amplifier? Any help gratefully received thanks in anticipation.

the dsp is 16 band but 2 channel. if you press set up, you can activate another set of 16 bands of eq. basically you have 1 set of front speakers with 16 band eq. rear speakers another 16 band eq. what I did was front speakers will handle the mids and high but mute the lows. rear speakers will handle the lows to mids but mute the highs. reducing the stress and load of the speakers. of course its nowhere near an actual multi channel dsp where you can configure individual speaker with their respective EQ. this bridges closer. another higher end models offers I think 21 or 27 band of eq configuration with similar 2 channel setup. much more fine tuning capabilities.

Yes you will need the Connects2 for steering wheel controls

Looking extra dapper for the vid! so radio is like 180 for 4gb 220 for 8gb, then 50 for the cameras which need to be ordered at the same time as the radio because the radio needs an extra chip in it, steering wheel buttons 19, 20 or 26 for screw on/internal tpms.... then theres the optional 4ch+sub (4x35w?) dsp box for another 28 and dab for 24 so the full on everything but the sink package is like 367, which i admit is cheaper than a teyes 360 setup (full everything kit radio 337, cameras 100, tpms 50, parking sensors 112, dab 32 so 631...) but I was still hoping it would work out cheaper than that...... maybe if i put on the marigolds, detail the bathroom, detail the kitchen, and the front room, redecorate the lounge and have a shave i can maybe beg for one....

@@vth55_ I *think* you can add the 360 to a 128gb radio only, but from the wording of the website you have to tell them so they put the 360 magic chip in it. I'd play safe and buy it together.

@@BilalBaghdadi that's what others have done, I'm still trying to sell my body to raise the cash. Just remember you *must* get the 360 can version of the head unit or it won't have the right parts inside, you must tell them you want the 360 cam head unit, if you get a non 360 and then buy the cams they will not work as it won't have a 360 decoding chip inside....(that how it was explained to me)

To change kph to mph , if its like my junsun just hold your finger on the kph. I just did this to try it as id seen others with similar systems unable to change theres. Hope it works and helps.

Heeyy thanks for the video. I bought the ekiy t7 but im stuck on one part. How do you connect your bluetooth device? Mine doesnt show up on my phones.

I really miss hard buttons. That way, I don't need to take my eyes off the road. Are there any touch screens that include basic hard buttons? I need buttons to move up and down my radio presets. And I NEED a volume knob. I don't believe a solely touch screen interface is practical for a driver. But it's necessary to access all the amazing features.

What size is your screen? I’m getting a 9-3 in December so will need the same one. Cheers

You must have been very lucky to receive all the accessories as I would assume you don't bother buying new 360 cameras with every head unit. As I was replacing an AC8257 unit I didn't bother ordering 360 cameras or dab radio from them as I already had them so they sent a unit without the 360 internal chip or software. It seems they make the units with and without default compatibility with the optional extras.

Put a USB flash drive of 128 gigs in your car in your USB port and it will record . I did that on my car

I purchased one of these from EKIY for my JDM 2008 Lexus ISF - All factory features work and EKIY customer service was awesome Do you know if I can wire the EKIY revers camera into my factory reverse camera wiring rather than run new wiring?

(This is for people who are curious about the unit i will probably update if i find any issues with it) I just got mine and have been using it for maybe 10 days. I drove about 300 miles with it. The unit works well. My old radio was broken, so i can't say if audio quality improved or dropped, but it sounds good. Gps works very well. I haven't installed the backup camera yet, so i can't say how that is. The microphone is horrible, but the head unit uses a standard 3.5mm jack, so any small microphone will work. Im currently using a $10 mic from amazon android Auto. can be annoying to get setup as it won't always connect. But it does work well. i dont have a sim card in it, so i can't say how well the 4g is

I ordered one of these based on your review, just waiting for it to arrive :). I tend to trust your reviews after watching many videos of yours. It would be nice if the fan had been hardwired to the accessory line internally instead of an external connection, but I guess it makes it easier to replace a failed fan. I did note the T7 does not come standard with 360 degree camera chip and it cost and extra $15 US for me to order one with that chip. I did go all out and get the 8GB RAM model myself as I had a lower spec unit previously and although I used it for almost 6 years, the lower RAM did make it a little sluggish and slow to load more intensive apps like certain navigation apps.

Hy man can you recommend by your experience what can I choose before navifly or ekyi ? Which is the best?

Thank you for this in depth eview, which has convinced me to buy the EKIY 6GB version. One, probably pretty stupid question relates to the output to the speakers. You showed that there is only left, right and subwoofer out, but you seem to be able to manage front and rear output to your speakers. How does that work?

The RCA outputs only to front and subwoofer, but these are only used for an aftermarket amp. If you're using your car's factory speakers, you won't be using the RCAs at all and will get the rear channels too

Thanks! That clears it up! Another question had is with the Android version on this unit. There are many head units out there with higher Android versions. Does it make a lot of difference with head units. Ie. Would I be much better off waiting for a unit with Android 13 or higher?

I really wish you had an Acura MDX, dual screen and reviewed the android head units..

Sir there is two brands OF EKIY . T8,T90 etc and EKIY KK3 KK5 ETC which one is the best.

I think those head units are the same as Mekede, but cheaper. Until now everything works.

thanks heaps for a fantastic review. Could you perhaps do a video on car link 2.0. sometimes not connecting? also, the T7 uses my phone's internet via bluetooth on android auto. (car link 2.0) but i seem to have to hotspot my phone to use the internet in other apps. I don't want the added expense of a separate sim card for my car. Thanks in advance

I bought a T7 also . I live in the USA where we use miles and Fahrenheit. If this is their flagship android car radio they dropped the ball. Something as simple as changing Celsius to Fahrenheit and kilometers to miles can't be done on this radio even though there is a setting to do both, changing the setting does nothing. Contacted support and they said "it can't be done".

What size screen is that one? I don't see an adaptor to suit the 9-3. I've just bought the 7" version as the mounting adaptor I have is that size, purchased it a few years back from Xtrons when they were UK based. It's looking a bit used so if you know of a source of a new one it will be very appreciated. It's to suit a 2007 9-3 Aero Convertible.

I’m trying to decide between this T7 and an Atoto a6pf for my 2012 Honda Fit LXL. One of the appeals of the T7 is that it already comes with plastic cutout that fits my car. On the other hand the Atoto is a more established brand. Finally, I think the main use of the stereo is going to be with Android Auto and CarPlay, so maybe the powerful hardware on the T7 is somewhat wasted. Any thoughts?

See my comment on tpms... long story short, I'd rather have the "proper" TPMS, or none at all, than have those hanging off the end of my valvestems. Think about it - to measure pressure, those little caps HAVE to depress and open the valves to sense pressure. So now your tires remaining inflated depend upon the seal between the cap and your valvestem, not the shrader valve itself. Better not have one iota of dirt or contamination on there...

EKIY offers the internal ones as well for a little more. You might need a tire shop to install the internal TPMS but you don't have to worry about it unscrewing or some kid walking by and stealing one off your wheel.

Finally, yesterday I bought a Junsun x7 pro, 11,5 inch radio with 6gb of ram and 128, 8 cores, and 1920x1200px (16:10?). It will be installed to a seat altea xl, and it includes a custom frame (with the stock frame I can install a 9 inch radio). I will be commenting here the result, but I think it doesn't seem to be a bad purchase

How are these fixed to the dash? Normally there are screws outside the perimeter of the screen, but these screens prevent access for such a screw+driver...

What a great series of videos! I'm refurbishing an older Land Rover Defender, and a couple of questions if I may. Starting from a position of zero audio equipment of any kind, do I need an amp to use this kind of head unit? Secondly, Defenders get stolen a lot more than other vehicles, they have pretty poor anti-theft gear. With 360 all around cameras becoming increasingly available, are there any manufacturers linking this up with proximity sensors etc to see who's been sniffing around? Thanks - Phill

They do a front dvr camera that I believe works as a parking camera but of course only the front and as for the amp,you don’t need an amp to run some speakers,,mine sounds great with just factory speakers no amp.

not the youtuber, but unfortunately there's no self parking in any head units to date. the 360 degree parking system allows you to see what's around your car in 360 degrees, but it still requires you to do the actual parking. hope that helps

What does these headunits say about freezing weather? Does the screen work normally in like -20c°

Hello @saab unleashed thankyou for this most informative video. I am looking to install something like this along with a 360 camera system / TPMS etc into my 2010 Volvo XC90. Looking at their store, EKIY appear to do a X7 head unit for the Volvo. The price is sub £100… is that right?! Is the X7 essentially the same head unit as this T7 but with a different adapter plate for Volvos, as I don’t see a reference to the X7 on their website, only AliExpress. One last question, does the 360 camera give any visual alerts on screen, or audible alerts if the car is too close to an object, or is it purely the camera feeds? Thankyou very much.

I can't speak for the compatibility between Volvo models, but I can tell you that if you buy something that is less than £100, you'll be disappointed. There should be options where you can select the components, make sure to get something higher end. The 360 system doesn't have audible noises, you'd have to also install radar sensors, but that's easy

What is the sound quality like as I see so many different reviews regarding these units and everyone moans about them obviously there’s lots of brands. I just wanna make sure I’m getting the best one for my money.

Loving my T7 after 6 months of use - thanks to this channel. One issue is the cooling fan has started to make a noisy whirring sound on high rate. Has anyone upgraded the fan or found a way of reducing the vibration - everything is tightened up on the fan shroud.

If I were you, I'd measure the voltage going into it, and the physical size which will make it easy to search for a replacement. That being said, in the winter you can probably get away without it.

I had a noisy fan on startup with my ekiy T7, it went away after a couple of minutes but was annoying. I found a same size fan on AliExpress and swapped it over and solved the issue and was pretty cheap

Mine is all good now, swapped it for a Noctua. It needed a bit of modifying, but really happy with the quality. EKIY even made a contribution 👍🏼

Im interested in this headunit for a 2017 nissan altima, they dont have the frame kit+headunit on their shop. How else would i be able to get a compatible canbus decoder and frame kit for this head unit?

So should I go with the Teyes cc3 2k 360 or this for my 2010 Saab 9-3 Aero AWD? What is the biggest screen you would recommend? I know that the cupholder will be blocked so any reason I cannot go with a 10.2 inch? The overhang won't really matter towards the passenger/glovebox side of the dash? If your choice is of these two and can afford the difference, buy the Teyes. You will be limited to the 9 inch one because any bigger and you won't be able to put the vents back in. If you want a bigger screen, get a Joying. The screen clips into place after you've replaced the vents. I have a video showing the installation of that in the 9-3

I have the t900... I had to get a hidden settings app to access the Bluetooth2 settings to try and add my OBD adapter... My problem is, all the devices in the bluetooth device list say "no name" so I have no idea which one to choose to pair my OBD adapter... have you had this problem?

Just bought this for my Saab 9 3 convertible and just wondered if your aftermarket amp is in replace of factory OEM or is it a additional one as I'm not happy with my sound in my convertible. I do have the 7 speaker set up with just the 1 factory amp.. Was thinking of also adding a underseat subwoofer if it boosts my sound😊😊

Don't be fooled by android versions. There is a thread on XDA developers showing a D7 actually had android 8.1 not 10 or 11. 8.1 is no longer supported, moreover Ekiy sent an "update" to this person who analysed the metadata, yes it was still 8.1.

Just to be clear, I test the validity of specs including Android version. This particular head unit has Android 10 and all of the other specs I state

The D7 is an android 8.1 head unit. This review is for the Android 10 T7 unit.

I have a fiat 500 2013 model and looking for a unit like this android unit that has Apple car play ,and is quite responsive can you recommend in your opinion which model I should go for on Ali express that includes the facia to look like factory fit as there is so many different variations, thank you.

@@BilalBaghdadi I contacted the vendor who said that it was possible, it apparently starts recording on startup. Can't be 100% sure if it's true tho, you know how Chinese sellers are

I have the exact camera with my HU and the night vision is non-existent. It is basically like using your own eyes at night.

Strange, when I look for my 2011 Estima it is only giving me an option of a T900 or T8. Is it something to do with the T7 not being a custom fit model or is it discontinued now? Thanks in advance.

Do you know if the measurements of all these generic android units are all the same size? Got the Teyes 10.1 inch but thinking about the mekede m6 pro. Is that something I can just swap out? Do you know if I can use the same harness that came with the teyes? Reason I ask is the mekede doesn't have a specific to my car but the teyes did. Some clarification would be great 👍

Yes you can swap one for the other size wize and the harness should work

I have just purchased a EKIY T8 any idea what the very long twin green cable is for. ? Also reversing camera only comes on when you switch the lights on manually. Also, cant get the steering wheel buttons to work. Mine is a Mercedes ML 300 2010. Any suggestions please

I've noticed in a lot of videos that no one mentions the manufacturer warranty. So if it's not a tabue subject, what is the mtg warranty.

Better teyes CC3 or ekiy T7 for dodge journey?

Since this has only one output channel. Did you have to use a Y splitter RCA for a 4 channel amp?

It has three channels, left, right and sub. If you're using an aftermarket amp for your speakers and need to use RCAs, you could use a Y splitter on the left and right channels, although in that scenario I would recommend getting a head unit that actually has 4/5 channels of preouts. This has four channel output via its built in amplifier which it sends directly to your car speakers (or factory amp)

Hello. I would like to buy a t900 for my VW Golf6. I have a few questions, maybe you can help me find answers. 1. Does the radio "remember" what it was running before turning off the car? For example, I have navigation to a given place enabled. I stop at the station to refuel, come back and have to choose the address again. Similarly with music, when I turn off the car, the music from Sportify/YT stops playing and I have to select the song again. This is how I have it in my current Isudar T72X, everything was better in the previous Isudar T72X. 2. Does the radio allow you to turn on Google Assistant? I know that the producer has his assistant, but he does not support my language. In Isudar I can select Google Assistant, but after each radio reset I have to select it again. Thank you :)

Very nice but the unfortunate deal breaker is that they ONLY do a LHD fascia trim for the Volvo XC60, no RHD trim.....bummer, think Teyes is the same........DOH !! :(
