I can’t see behind me with those mirrors on both my 2020 V4S, and my 2023 V4R, so I got the handlebar mirrors, just love them. YES, I have been riding since 1967, I told my Dealer that it hands down the most incredible motorcycle I have ever ridden let alone owned!

I love listening to newbies whine about the dry clutch and how you have to feather the throttle/clutch. I raced an AMA Road Race season in '75 including the Daytona 200 on a TZ350 (D) and first gear was incredibly high and the engine had almost no torque/HP at low RPM's...to say you had to "feather" the clutch when leaving the pits or at start time was a real understatement. I've ridden a V4R and it is a complete no brainer launching with the dry clutch.

That's great, my experience differs from yours and coming from the wet clutch from the previous Panigale to this one was a change.

Great info and impressions that I’d otherwise not have as I’m not talking with a lot of R owners, but I am interested in the comparison between S and SP2, R. Cheers

Honestly the S and SP2 only differ on the carbon "goodies" like rims and winglets and stock dry clutch. The R is very different from both in many ways from the motor (998cc vs 1103cc) titanium internals, manual suspension, etc.

Great review! On the Aprilia what made you have to lift your heel/ raise your knee to get in full tuck? I did want to note the 2023 rsv4 has more room than previous models, which helps when getting in full tuck. Lastly you have a beautiful machine

Oh I didn't have to raise my foot on the Aprilia. I just did that to show what my knees and elbows are like on it. I've ridden the new one(did a review too) there is more room, but not like the Panigale.

Great video, I've been wanting one since I got my pikes peak. Does it at least have a low fuel light?

I totally agree with you on the gas gauge and cruise control….my 23 S1KRR has it and frankly @ $45k it’s truly a minimum the Italian engineers can do for there customer. It might be an Italian thing because my 22 aprilia RSV4 doesn’t have it either.

@Dixon34 not on track agreed, but this is also a streetbike, and many people, myself included, ride it there as well. The competitors have it, they can too.

On the issue you have with the dry clutch. I have a V4sp with the dry clutch. I can feather mine enough to take off with zero throttle input. That being said, I believe it's a difference in rotating mass on the v4r that makes you stall it more easily. Food for thought

Maybe, but the motor and tuning is different between the v4r and v4sp.

What made you ultimately go with this over one of the Superleggeras? How do you feel about that decision now?

@@916chidori so a Superleggera is the ultimate panigale, 1299sl being my favorite. I didn't go with one because I wouldn't want to ride it the same as I do the R. The rarity and special nature of an SL, they are second or third bikes that you ride occasionally. I've tracked a 1299sl before, but it isn't something I would want to do often.

Seems like they could design a better heat shield to help out. Beautiful bike though.

I tell you what, if Ducati's engineers were smart enough to at least add a cruise control and heated grips, I would immediately turn in my s1000rr and get the V4R ! I hope Ducati reps are reading these messages by the 'normal' street rider(s) who don't use the track 95% of the time !! 😁

I think you can add heated grips... well there's a pit lane button instead😅 but yea that's my point, even the M1000RR has cruise control and that's a "race" bike.

exactly! So, what is preventing Ducati from adding a cruise control and a gas gauge? My only other thought is that adding such things would bring their prices on there bikes much higher than they are now; even though the M1000RR have such things and are cheaper to purchase !!@@oneonlyxram

If you think that thing gets hot, wait until you tried it with the akrapovic full exhaust. Now it get supper uncomfortable, I have the same bike with the exhaust and it gets ridiculous hot

Interesting, haven't heard the akra causing a ton of heat on the v4r... I've had the full system on my other panigale's and they were actually cooler than stock.

@@oneonlyxram I don’t know if produce more heat than the regular exhaust, when I bought mine they installed the Akra the first day, but the one thing I know is the heat that come out is unbearable.

I agree with you. For the money you should have a fuel gauge, cruise controls etc.....its 2023 and these bikes should have it. As much as I love Ducati, I didn't buy the Streetfighter because of no fuel gauge, worst fuel consumption and heat. Ducati could address these but they don't because the people that buy them give Ducati too many concessions and excuses and will put up with it. I like raw bikes but I like comforts too. These issues help if you choose to do longer rides, no matter if its considered a track bike. What about if you want to do a long ride? No reason why they can't fix and and add these. Beautiful bike regardless, good for you, enjoy!

@@alexanderpatterson6316 You made my point perfectly! Thank you. The more owners give Ducati a free pass and accept anything they dish out without question, the less likely Ducati address issues. The issues that are constantly brought up are easy fixes. You can still love your Ducati but still demand a higher standard from them. Its strange for a German owned company to not address details.
