Congratulations Ron Fellows and the Corvette team
Ron Fellows in a Z06 - awesome as usual! Great lap Ron!
Just did his corvette racing school in Nevada last week in the C8. Awesome facility, instructors, and experience.
I didn’t think today could get any better! CorvetteRacing wins WEC championship in Monza & at CTMP & this!
Every on track Chevrolet sign was worth .5 seconds of lap time. Great lap, great car!
Right on! Kinda pumped that I got within 5mph on the back straight with the C7Z during the driving experience haha
He'd better! Given that he (part) owns the track! Awesome job Ron!
Ron, I talked to you at Road Atlanta about this run, viewed at .25 speed, wow... no trail braking, blip of throttle to the apex, smooth to 100% early coming out of the corners... amazing mastery of the C8 covering technique... thanks for posting this
Love the line Ron, great job, same line I take, except I'll arrive 20 sec later, lol, keep tearing it up and posting! Michael Sylvester
👍👍 Clean lap! Congrats Ron Fellows and the team Corvette!
Sheesh! and I felt the 1:26 in the C7 Z was an unreachable bogey
I'll be in your Las Vega school next month! Can you teach me to drive like that in two days ?? :):)
Surprised to see he's not touching the paddle shifters and letting the vehicle's "Track Mode" do all of the shifting work. Amazing! I guess anybody can do this in a C8? 😜 #IWorkForGM

No not anyone. Only 0.01%of Corvette owners could ever do this even with the car shifting itself. And yes he's not shifting.
4 seconds faster then his C7Z time, impressive!

What was Ron Fellow's C7 ZR1 time? If his C8 ZO6 record time at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was 1:22.12, and his C7 ZO6 time was 1:26:xx

@@nunyubizness5483 I’m not to sure if he clocked a ZR1 time
wow!!!
Love that sound. I own a 69 427/435hp vette, it sounds great too.

why did you have to tell use the horsepower of your car, wasnt relevant ... oh wait i know why....

@eedoamitay3341 because Chevy offered 5 versions in 69, that's why. If you had half a brain, you wouldn't have to ask.
Yes great lap, but since I've never driven Mosport I have nothing to compare it too. The Time says enough. What I like is: how relaxed Ron is, 2) he's not shifting, the computer is. I'd like to see him do VIR or the Glen, I've raced at both.
Wow, the C7 Z06 drag only allowed the car to go 151mph but this car was allowed to go 156mph. That is bonkers.

Z07 has a much higher too speed than 151. 195 I believe, but definitely far far above 151

@@markw9512yeah I know, it is just that the aero on the C8 Z06 Z07 package has a significantly less amount of drag compared to the C7 Z06 Z07 package because the C8 Z06 Z07 package because of their trap speed on the straight.
Great video, congrats... but I didn't think 1'22" is a lap record, 1'5" something on an Audi LMP1 R10 is the absolute lap record at CTMP according to Wikipedia, and I've seen other videos with faster laps (1'17").

They’re not making claim to the overall lap record. It’s a lap record for a production street car as plainly pointed out at the end of the video. All the cars you mention that have gone faster are full on race cars.
Mph on a Canadian track. 🙄

Some of us old Canadians will think in MPH 😀
Why not when you have a huge HP and torque difference, plus MOSPORT is the fastest track in North America where those factors come into play. I am just disappointed with all that HP & torque that at the end of the Mario Andretti straight, Ron only hit 156 MPH prior to turn 8. I am an ultra-novice and hit 146 MPH (235 kph) in a 992 911 4S with 227 less HP and 70 pounds less torque. A pro driver that took me for a lap would hit 152 MPH (245 kph) in the same car. Oh and by the way, that is only a 0.24 second gain over the last lap record set in 2019.
This car has some really long gears
Great to see Ron still at it. I'll admit the Z06 engine will go down as America's best ever, too bad the body is so fookin' ugly😮
