Well, hats off to the new-gen ZO6 and to think there are even more powerful models coming, Corvette proves that switching to a mid-engine for the 8th gen Corvette was the correct thing to do, need proof, just look a the performance of the base pushrod (aka OHV) naturally aspirated V8, quicker than both C7 high-performance models (the ZO6 and ZR1), yes, not top speed, but honestly, you need power for top speed, Corvette show the world what a mid-engine Corvette could do with just a pushrod naturally aspirated V8, now, it going to show what it can do with a DOHC naturally aspirated V8 (for now), the funny thing is, this isn't GM's 1st DOHC V8, people seem to forget how far ahead the Cadillac NorthStar was vs the competition, pricing wise, anything less than a 100k is crazy, but it Corvette / GM and they always underprice their vehicles

Too bad the designers couldn't make it look good from any angle. Real mish-mash of angles and shapes with nothing flowing or tied together, and what's with that hideous non-active mulcher blade rear spoiler lol? The interior isn't much better from the square steering wheel to the divided driver-only oriented controls leaving absolutely nothing for the passenger to look at. Emelia Hartford's opinions don't exactly inspire one to go out and buy one either lol. Other than the mid-engine platform, I would much prefer the ZR-1 over this failed attempt at improving the design architecture :(

And no manual transmission, nuf said

GM stopped producing an icon, a classic that has been manufactured since 1953, that is, a car with its own identity to manufacture what now? A bizarre copy of LaFerrari. This is unfortunate. The Chevrolet Corvette died. Since GM likes to copy Ferrari, GM could copy the Ferrari Omologata or Ferrari Roma and thus re-manufacture the Classic Corvette with an engine in the front as it always has been.

I used to think like you. Until I experienced GM's brand new engineering and what their performance feels like.... Now, I don't want the old Corvette or Camaro back. Because they do not give anywhere near the same feeling as when you drive these new ones. In this case, I'm proud of GM for the first time since I was a kid. If you think this car sucks, go tell it to the face of the people who spent 60 hour work weeks perfecting it for us.
