Some things are worth the price. Catrike employs people in the US. Aside from that it met all my requirements. Not inexpensive but six months into it - zero regrets.

I like the lighting kit, would be nice to have a stand alone version for non eCats. I understand why they have to raise their prices, the impact of inflation is hitting everything but it was good they could keep their prices down as long as they could. Still seems like good value for money, just wish I could have been ready to buy my next Catrike now but timing just isn't right.

Glad I bought my new Dumont in December... But really... if you can afford a $5,000 bike (msrp plus a few accessories) then another $500 shouldn't be a deal breaker. What I am struggling to understand is, why they give you a meter of cable on the headlight when it only has to run 6 inches... That much excess cable wound up inside the motor housing is a problem just waiting to happen.

I wonder how "Grin Regen" could improve lighting abilities. Lighting for the rear stop and running light never really seem to be bright enough. That being said I don't see to many bike riders at night anymore. The lights in this video were impressive. A left right signaling would be awesome as well. Price hike is to be expected with today's US economy.

It’s not just US prices mate , it’s all around the world , It’s a double whammy , first it was the pandemic , then Putin the idiot starting a war . Goods and services have no choice to either put prices up or go out of business. I’m no economist, but my guess is it may be 3 to 5 years before things come back to some semblance of normalcy.

@@mikldude9376 hey I had written a reply but sadly it was erased by KZread. I am well aware of how the economy around the world is suffering. I know the reasons why as well. I also know how this increases prices for smaller businesses and even larger businesses. Long story short I agree to what you are saying in writing. I was just pointing out that the price hike is understandably. Especially considering the high dependency on China.

This kit wires directly into the motor so it wouldn't be able to be powered on motorless trikes. But we do offer rechargeable lighting options that can be mounted on any type of trike. You can find those on our website

The video promotes the lighting kit as an offset to the price increase, but only for motorized trikes. Catrike customers who want to ride solely under their own power do not get an offset the the price hike.
