2023 Can-Am Outlander XMR 1000R First Ride
I dropped in to my local John Deere dealer last Friday to get a mulcher for my zero turn and ended up buying an XMR 1000. (Also a Can Am dealer). I had spoken to him about a month after I bought the Max XT about my regrets of not getting a Max XT Limited or XMR.. He said he'd let me know if one came in and what it would cost to trade it.. Well, I pulled the trigger and now I have the machine that suites my driving style. I needed the clearance and ability to go deep.. From the Raptor, to the Max XT , to the XMR.. in one season.. I think my KTM will spend the rest of the year in the garage now.

Yeah, I heard a lot of people where changing the suspension to Elka on them cause it was too stiff.. Not sure if they made changes but I dont find mine that bad.. The XT-P has the 27" and upgraded suspension and I told the dealer if I would have known I would have gotten that because I was bottoming out the suspension on the max xt often enough. I'm an XMR guy now though.. I'll never go back lol

congrats man. I got my 2023 850 outlander xt max stuck in red clay quick sand. I mean it look like something out of a western. Looked like solid ground but my bike sunk right in. the clay mud was up to my back and i almost got stuck trying to get it out. My neighbor had to come out to help pull me out. Would have been nice having this one but i still love my 850 xt. Im not to fond of the can am wrench. Have winding issue already
@NBADVEnduro
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I liked the 850 for ripping through trails for sure.. I've only been riding ATVs for 2 years and this year was my first with can am. It was hard to get bikes early on in the season and I just took whatever they had.. I was looking forward to ride muddy trails. .Something I could not really do with the Yamaha Raptor.. After a few months with the max XT, I said screw it and went with the XMR. Both very awesome bikes but the XMR is more suited to my needs.

@@NBADVEnduro yea I just started riding when i got mine a month and a half ago. This is my first ATV ever Ridden once in my life before on a friends Banshee. The guy at the dealer was like This is one hell of a first step lolol. I would love to take a rid through the canadian wilderness. I live in North Carolina in the states and the scenery look nothing like that. We dont have trails like that since all property is privately own here so you can't just roam like you can in the vast Canadian forest unless you wanna get shot for trespassing on someones land lol this is America. I made a loop trail on my 3 acre land going around my house so that fun enough. I live in the forest with no yard so my land is my trail lol

@@mikey08857 Congrats on the bike.. I live about 5 min from the Maine border in a little town called Grand Falls. We have an immense trail system. One of the big rides I take (to go and come back) is almost 200 miles of wilderness. We have a great ATV club for maintenance of bridges and stuff.. Lots of those trails are on private property but with the owners approval. You can pretty much take a week off and go all around the province of New Brunswick in those trails. We are definitely lucky that way.. I know some states have great ATV clubs with great trails as well..
I know I missed the rear seat going from a max to this same machine, it was comfy for chilling at trail breaks and stuff...because this is the longer chassis, the rear seat will click right on if you remove a little plastic tab. I was really happy to get the seat back lol
@NBADVEnduro

Yeah, depending on what kind of riding you do, I'd go with the bigger machine.. It didnt take long after I got the max that I said shit, I should have gotten a 1000 with upgraded suspension (XT-P).. @@NBADVEnduro I lost my left leg and my right leg is paralyzed. I take the stock seat of and mount a seat I bought from Farm Supply on it. I have a special cushion I sit on instead of the stock seat cushion too. Having a back rest and fold down arm rests is awesome. Many of my friends loved it when they gave it a ride. I looked into getting a patent but never did. If anyone knows a guy that could work with me on designing one and is familiar with the patent process, let me know. It's super comfortable to have back and arm rests when hunting or on the the farm. Biggest ATV I've had was the 2004 Yamaha Kodiak. I loved it. I hated to part with when I sold it. it's definitely smooth enough to trail ride, I went for a 300 km ride and I was in better shape than with the raptor 700.. It's designed for mud but if you want it smoother, you can change the tires to a lesser mud design. Personally, I'll wear em out and put another set of mudders on. It took me a while and loss of 10 grand, from raptor 700, to 850 Max XT to the XMR.. I am NEVER goin back.. Hell, I might even buy the Renegade XMR down the road.
