Like your vid's but this one was confusing! You started out saying you can qualify to "buy" the vehicle if, if , and if. I assume you meant qualify for the tax credit., not buy, eh? Also if the qualifications for the tax credit include 40% of the battery being made in the US, and since that's not the current case, where did you read an out sourced battery will qualify for a partial EV tax credit?

Thanks for the info. Yes there will be a lot of issues too address., I can see where this will take time. Iam still trying to be patient. Iam thinking of probably getting something done in the 2024 model year! Keep us posted, and thank you again for your info and help..

It's classification on the type of vehicle will make a difference. Will it be classed as an SUV?

I am going to say Cross Over

On September 1st GM announced that the Lordstown, Ohio battery plant had started production and that the batteries where slated for the Hummer EV and the Lyriq. GM has also partnered to source the cathode material from Canada, and by 2024 their lithium should come from California. They seem to be the best positioned of all the EV manufacturers to meet the new requirements for a North America supply chain. Supposedly, if you order a new Lyriq now, you get it in Spring 2023. By that time it seems possible that the production could qualify for the full credit.

Awesome but we still have 2 to 3 years before the plant will be complete. But at least the building process has started.

I don't think the car will qualify for full credit if you buy the car in 2022. It is made in the US but the cap of 200K cars applies for this year. There may be a partial credit depending how many EV's GM has sold.
