I like the color combo with interior it meshes well together for sure. Wheels are a pain to clean though and has a stiff ride

I wish the back is more significant. I think you can only store one golf set, 2 if you pile up, or 2 small sizes of luggage standing upright. But the front seats, the dashboard, and the 2nd-row captain seats are *chef's kiss*. I also wondered about the leg room in the third row, or if there are also cupholders back there.

My next vehicle I decree!

I tend to like the older style BMW’s from the late 90’s and early 2000’s more.

But unlike the durango it can actually turn!😱

You should actually drive the Durango Hellcat before making statements like that. It turns just fine and does very well on track.

Rivian R1s is 3.1 seconds right ?

i would love to see BMW make a Maybach like, 2 row 4 seater version of the X7.

It's called BMW XM, fully developed by BMW M.

Curious to see what the actual results look like. BMW likes to under rate/low ball their numbers so I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up faster/quicker than the Durango Hellcat. Sounds like a great video matchup to me! Edit: a point of confusion for me... is Alpina in house BMW? Or is this like a Hennessy outfit?

Alpina are technically an independent tuning company, but BMW officially allows them to modify their cars and it doesn't void the warranty.

Alpina XB7s are built down the line in Spartanburg to a spec developed by Alpina in Bavaria BMW have agreed to take over Alpina as an in house marque in the near future to give them a way to survive upcoming emissions and safety legislation. They’ll be positioned as the luxury express still and let M do the harder edged cars we know

Themokingtire tested the first model year xb7 and was amused and impressed by just how well balanced ride and handling were. Shouldn’t work, but it does, mainly by not being as crazy stiff as the M SUVs are.

Looking for new wheels, Alpina XB7 or GLS 63 AMG for 2024?

I’m sure an X Plaid would smoke that thing in a drag race but both the interior and exterior is beautiful.

Model X doesn’t have a real 3rd row and it can’t reach 180 mph. This would surpass that quickly.

I don’t know what Tommy has been smoking lately but as an owner of previous shape of X7 I refused to return my 2020 X7 to lease out the newer model . The front of this looks like Pontiac Aztec rather than a good looking SUV.

Top speed on the R1S is limited to 110mph (thanks for correction linkwpc)...so yes, it's much faster.

@@jragadio R1S is quicker to 60 (3 vs 3.9) (Used Rivian published numbers for R1S and BMW published number for Alpina).

@@benjohannsen7208 it’s not at all a diss at Mopar. They are two different SUV’s built for two different purposes and clientele. Them being fast and SUV’s are where the similarities end.

Model X is quicker, not faster... unless the Model X Plaid's 163mph top speed is somehow faster than the Alpina's 180mph.

In the 0 to 60, R1S is still faster!

But 0-60 isn’t fastest…it’s quickest. Plus only a handful of people seem to care about EVs (of which the Plaid Model X smashes the R1S making it irrelevant here as well).

Meh. Does nothing for me. Or maybe with out Sofyan, it just lost its excitement. 🤣 Pillows in a vehicle.. wow. And to think I had been doing that for decades on my own. I am such a fool, when I could have waited for a manufacturer to do it for me. 😂

*Hotrodding a SUV still leaves you with a SUV. A station wagon truck with the aerodynamics of a brick, center of gravity of a skyscraper, and all of the sex appeal of Margaret Thatcher.* Call it Alpina. Call it Hellcat. But if it were a person it would be that fat chick you NEVER look at and probably laugh at if you're buddies are there. If these were true performance machines, racing teams would be clamouring for it.

Obviously, u haven't ever driven one or seen any of the reviews of the XB7 on the track. When in performance plus mode, the XB7 slams itself to the ground, center of gravity of a skyscraper it is not. Get to know the vehicle, and you just might be impressed. Married with kids doesn't mean you have to drive a boring mini van to the soccer game.
