I'm. not sure it's really about laziness. If you have really taken the time, even a few minutes, most of the owner's manuals are difficult to navigate. Information is not logically ordered. There are numerous pages filled with typical lawyer language that detracts owners from really delving and trying to find what they are looking for. If you are looking for "A", it is inappropriate to be told to find the "bolt" on page 378 and the "screw" on page 73 and the user is trying to bounce back and forth and figure it out. German car manuals are the worst. Even Lexus has a tremendous amount of room for improvement. No one should have to look in 4 or 5 places to secure a simple answer.

I will soon take delivery on my new LC 500 convertible in the U. S. and then found your tutorial. How absolutely wonderful this deep dive was. I'm super ready for delivery now and can't thank you enough for the information and how entertaining it was. Wish your dealership was closer to me! 😊🌹

Hello! Thank you for all the incredible LC information. I recently purchased a 2018 LC500 and cannot figure out if the vehicle has an Easy Exit driver's seat. Can you please tell me if this is standard, thinking it would be! Thank you for taking the time to read and respond!

Hi! Thanks so much for tuning in with me. The 2018 LC has an Auto-Tilt-Away feature for the steering wheel, but the seat does not retract. Some people program one of the additional Driver Position Memory buttons as an "exit/entry" position. Maybe that will help? Thanks again!

Very cool and thorough tutorial! But what would the function of the blank button @ 24:36 be? Since the "base" Lexus models are often already pretty much fully loaded. Thank you!

Hi @TheDude! It is so funny that you mention that. In the US Owner's Manual it always shows it as a blank button drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM11518U/pdf/OM11518U.pdf see page 7 for the clearest image I've got with labels. It's possible that there is an option available in other countries. It's the same on the non-convertible also. Definitely a mystery. Thanks so much for tuning in.

All you need is an extra 20 minutes in your day to deal with that windscreen! Holy Mackerel. The unanswered question was, can you leave the windscreen up when putting the top up? I am guessing No

I think this windscreen was much easier to deal with than the previous version on the IS Convertible, but I'm not sure I would ever use it if I was lucky enough to have this car. You can have the top open or closed with it installed, but I think it looks cleaner with it folded up and in the trunk ;-P Thanks for watching :)

What is the Allen wrench in the glove box for?

Hi @Shahmard_Hakimi! So sorry for the delay. I'm in Texas in an area hit hard by a major winter storm and we had to close the dealership for a few days. Just getting back and catching up. I have not seen a vehicle with an Allen wrench in the glove box. Is it possible that you have Roof Rails? Those do come with an Allen wrench for adjusting the rail position. That's my best guess without seeing it. Thanks for tuning in!

I don’t have access to a convertible because we have sold each one we received, but I’m part of a group of Lexus Technology Specialist from all across the country who help answer question for people. I’ll get the info for you! Did the tool come in a bag or wrapper of any kind? Is it a Hex wrench or Allen wrench (how many edges does it have)? I have been waiting to learn how to put the top up with no battery power and I’m wondering if that is part of it. I’ll get back to you ASAP.

@@NorthsideLexusIts an Allen wrench, and It comes in it's own black plastic pouch. I wish I had taken a picture of it for you. I have delivered two LC convertibles and there was one in the glove box of both cars.

@@tomtocool1 Found it! My hunch about it being for the top was correct. It is for emergency operation of the top if there is a loss of power or certain malfunctions. It does come with a lot of disclaimers though and they recommend that you first try to get the vehicle to a Lexus dealer, because manual operation can potentially damage components that don't like being forced to operate. Check out page 337 - 344 in the online OM: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM11498U/pdf/OM11498U.pdf It also says you will need two people. That tool is used in a couple of different spots. I'm sorry it won't let me include pictures for you. Make sure to check on out the link I sent so you can see all the steps. It looks like something that you would only want to do if you absolutely had to. Hope this helps :)

An hour and 37 minutes of instruction but no instruction about the options to order one. There aren’t many options but somehow the configurator doesn’t explain why certain items one chooses in a package are dropped when you choose the 21 inch wheels for instance. Why don’t you give a tutorial about how to configure. I can figure out how to put the top down.

Hi @Eric, Sorry for any confusion. The tutorial videos in the Virtual Classroom are designed to help teach new owners about how to use the features on the vehicles they have purchased or leased. The videos are not meant to be car reviews or sales videos. Since I'm a Lexus Technology specialist who teaches Lexus technology, I focus on that. I also include a time stamped index in the video description so people can jump through to specific categories if they don't need instruction on all of the items. Each region and country has a different website layout and sales configuration process. If you're having trouble with a particular site, make sure to reach out to the dealership in your area so you can get accurate information about the packages and features available in your area.
