A few things. Subscribing: I subscribe because I don't want to miss anything. I want to be notified when you or anyone else I like has put up a new video. Yarn cozies: I purchased your knitted pattern for yarn cozies. I have made 22, working on #23, and gifted 17 to my yarn friends. Still want to gift some to people I haven't seen over the holidays. Admiration: I admire you improving yourself and being kind to yourself. We are all our own worst critics. You see yourself so differently than I see you. I see you as smart, accomplished, dedicated, and fun. Have a good 2023.

Now I wanna make a year in review video! For the granny squares, I HIGHLY recommend a continuous join as you go as opposed to a standard join as you go because you only have two ends to weave in instead of a million. Hooked by Robin has several videos on multiple different continuous join as you go methods. She makes great tutorials so definitely check them out! Joining granny squares is honestly my favorite part because you quickly see a pile of squares turn into a finished project. So satisfying!

2023: I’ve started a granny stripe blanket. I’ve realized that I’m going to run out of scraps, so it’s going to be a long time project as I make more scraps. I plan on knitting a pair of Felici socks each month to reduce my striped stash. I will participate in Sock Madness. I also want to knit my first personal sweater, but am in the process of losing weight. I want to settle on a size first.

2023 is all about intentional knitting, choosing quality yarns for the pure pleasure of working with them, looking at them and creating items with them that I will love, use and wear. If it's not a "HELL YES" then it's a "HELL NO" 🥰

I am also a Club Pilates member. I have almost made 500 classes overall. It really makes a difference in my well being when I go regularly. Thank you for talking about your struggles. 2021 and 2022 were really hard for me and hearing other people give themselves permission to change things has helped me to make decisions to change myself. Thank you!

It is tough to tell ourselves what to do and then do it because we needed that experience growing up. Children need to make their own decisions (developmental stage appropriately) and learn through them, how to handle mistakes, set backs and also how to celebrate our wins without being judged on any of it, but with support and back up and lots and lots of hugs and emotional growth support. It is judgment that slows us down! Mistakes are growth - when seen in that perspective. Setting goals which truly align with us fuels decision-making and reviewing as you are doing helps to see what worked and didn't which IS the feedback we need to build upon. Exponential growth only happens when we keep growing and just don't quit. You've got this 🥰

I started my own business last year (dog daycare!), so my finished projects have gone down to 53 from 81, that's about 2/3 crochet, 1/3 machine knitting. My two goals for this year: finish my wedding shawl in time (made from the beautiful advent from Vegan Yarns!), my second goal is to find time to crochet, because it helps me calm down and I need something apart from work.

I so enjoyed this video and your recent review of eliminating your stash. The lessons learned were even more valuable than reducing the yarn you had. The fact that you discovered so much and your goals towards making what you need and use is such a powerful message. We all get caught up in various new patterns, new yarns, MAL's and Instagram - these are great for inspiration, but one has to filter this through their own values. I look forward to the mini skein and scrap goal; I think this can be a very creative process that does not necessarily rely on patterns designed for scraps. A variety of scraps can nearly look like a skein of dyed in the wool. Great success to you in 2023.

My crafty goals for this year include: -finish WIPs/make new projects very intentional -shop my stash before buying anything -work on Christmas presents throughout the year, not just in the fall/December. Already started on a cross stitch stocking for my step-dad. My grandma (dad's mom) made everyone in the family a stocking so my mom has one but I think my step dad needs one too.

I have been following you since I think 2021 and really enjoy your podcasts. While I am closer to your mother’s age, I do learn quite a bit from your efforts and appreciate your creations. I lived in NYC for 18 years and miss it, so I get my fix when I see your video. ❤I know this is a generational difference, but I am a bit taken aback by you giving up a career early in life to become a social media influencer. I think it’s great that you teach and share that gift as well. When I learned to knit in my 30s, I loved it but could never have afforded to give up my full-time job to do that. Now I can’t wait to retire so that I can knit all day and perhaps become more involved in social media. No matter your age, I think it’s important to continue to grow and reinvent yourself.😊🧶

I have loved watching your videos each week in 2022. I LOVED joining in with Outstranding MAL. I wear my outstranding all the time and am looking forward to your MAL this year (would love more than one). I loved your ethos of choosing a designer that did not have a huge following and introduced them to the wider knitting community. Hi Natalie ~ I just discovered your podcast this past year, and really got engaged through Vlogmas. I have very much enjoyed everything I've watched. I'm quite a few years older than you, but feel a kinship in many ways. Similarly, I like having 1 main project and 1 secondary project going at the same time. The primary being the place where I learn new things or take on a bigger project, the secondary being a simpler project, like a Sophie Scarf or a crocheted blanket for a niece or nephew. At the same time, there may be another project that floats around in the background. I have 2 big goals for 2022 - the first is to make 12 sweaters in 12 months - whew! And the second it to start a podcast - double whew! And this weekend I'm starting a part time job in a yarn store. I'm intending to create my niche in the business of yarn and creating. Thanks for being a delightful inspiration!.

I’m so glad I found your channel earlier this month! I have loved watching your stash journey and I have seen small clips of your scraps 👀 I am eager to see what’s next! I have been destashing this month and have really been enjoying it. I feel refreshed and ready for 2023! I’m currently working on a Ferndell cardigan and then I have yarn for a sweater arriving on Friday 🙈 and after that it’s exclusively stash knitting unless I’m very, very spoken to. Funnily enough my goals match yours! Curating a handmade wardrobe and putting in the time for pieces that I love. I feel like people don’t include research into patterns and materials as time put into a project, but it absolutely is! Gotta get what you want so it’s loved and worn to death! Cheers!!

Thanks for sharing about 2021 being hard and how 2022 has been better. I moved from NYC over 30 years ago and that was one of the hardest years, I didn't realize how much I'd miss it. (Moving to NYC after college was also really hard.) All to say that making a big move is hard even if it's something you're excited about and looking forward to. I admire how organized you are and how hard you work on your business. I was hoping to knit 3 or more sweaters for myself this year and knit several socks. But my sister took me up on my offer to knit a sweater for her, so . . . I work close to full time and am a slow knitter. So I'll take your advice to be kind to myself and not get bummed if I don't meet my goals! Looking forward to seeing how you manage all the scraps. I'm saving mine for Stephen West projects and socks!

I've been following your channel for awhile and I love to see what you are up to. I finally bought the musselburgh hat and I want to make one. At least one, just to say I have lol and send it to my sister. I have purchased all your patterns I think and have made the float tote and versions (my own) of it. One is small for socks and another is medium size for sweater quantity. The biggest one I made was my first and it is really big - blanket size. I think I may have used a larger needle or it could just be I didn't crochet it tight enough because of arthritis in my hands. They are my go to project containers and I will be making more. I also have a bunch of the cozies. I found the snaps on amazon in a larger quantity than at Hobby lobby and cheaper. I haven't counted up my projects, but I know I made over 15 hats this year as they were gifts. I'm currently working on the vellichor by Andrea Mowry using malibrego yarn, lichen and lace yarn and a skein of my dyed yarn. It's my challenge of the year I think. I also have a pair of socks on the needles and a carry over of another big cardi in the works. As far as reading, I just finished the lost apothacary. I finally got the chance to go to the big library an hour away that has digital books to borrow. I'm a pretty avid reader so I know I finished a lot of books- had to go look 122 books read in 2022. I've finished 4 so far this year, 131 books in 2021. Love that kindle keeps track in the reading insights area(under more...) for those who didn't know it existed, like me, till a few months ago. Thanks for sharing your current reads books. I like to try different genres. My favorite it young adult (I'm 68), I think they are sometimes better written than the adult books. I have also been going through my stash and trying to use it up. I did succeed in using a ton of scraps and mini skeins for hats and cowls for Christmas gifts. I was going to start the scrappy blanket and I don't have much left. Again a big thanks to you and your husband Kent for making such quality videos and letting us all have a peek into your lives. I loved vlogmas! the guessing game had me laughing at my own guesses.

Right now I am itching to cast on the Oslo hat - Christmas edition by PetiteKnits for my daughter in a glittery yarn, but I have been longing to make my own cloths and change style to a more vintage inspired one for a while. I think I will make a list of how to accomplish that and put up some goals to get there. Thank you for an inspiring video! :)

I really like the striping on the back of the Stay Cozy sweater. It looks intentional.

Hi Natalie - I just finished watching and I love that you are stretching yourself by choosing “hard and scary” goals. It’s a brave thing to do, but you have given yourself the best start ever by realizing that your priorities must always be centered around the choice that makes you happiest TODAY. YAY for your self-love and care. You know, love and happiness are the two things you are born understanding. We let them slip away as we age and as we are taught that other things and people should take priority. As we all end up realizing, suffering and sadness ensue. I’m amazed by your growth in your journey back to the pure love and happiness you enjoyed as a baby… at such a young age! Brava Natalie. I can hear in what you say that you are on the right path. Now, for a crochet tip I can’t resist sharing: Check out my project page on Ravelry (Peggity), my recently completed Lydia Blanket designed by Dedri Uys and view my photo of the join I used. It is done on the diagonal and results in far fewer ends to run in, and Bonus - it is gorgeous! It’s part of Dedri’s instructions for joining granny squares for her Lydia Blanket on her website lookatwhatimade.net. Because you’ll be joining granny squares this year and it might as well be gorgeous!😍

Question: Have you always been a very organized person, or is this something that has happened because of your KZread channel?
