Had my very first track day last weekend and camped out at Gingerman Raceway for two nights to run sessions both on Saturday and Sunday. Shoutout to @gc8driver & @bayshore.bm9 for the encouragement and for helping me to get on track this first year of owning the car.
Overall, IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST! My group unfortunately had a number of "race car shit" issues pop up but in my personal experience it was stellar! I ran a total of 9 sessions between the two days and on a track that is very forgiving (plenty of run-off) and simple enough for a novice like myself, I don't think it could have gone any better.
The learning curve was massive coming from autocross but it taught me so much more about my car and really what it is capable of. Only upgrades to the vehicle thus far being a shift plate, EBC yellow pads, Motul RBF600 Brake fluid and wheels/tires. The footage shown was the fastest recorded time I had with both my TrackAddict app and GoPro in operation simultaneously but my fastest was a 2:00:581, best of the weekend was an LMP I believe with something around the 1:30s. Huge split time obviously but I am now hooked and can't wait to experience more tracks and get better as a driver. Drop a follow on Insta if you wanna stay up-to-date on progress!!
