I agree Muzi, there's no value in getting an R Line over the Life DSG. I personally wouldn't spend this type of money on cars but it would far better sense to wait a few years and pick up a fully specced Life DSG rather where some other sucker has already paid for all the extras and the depreciation

Considering the trajectory of car prices these days, I don't think the Pre-owned vehicles will be affordable either. It might happen that the price difference will be negligible to a point that it will be just better to buy a new car. The car market has gone wild.

Problem with me is that there no longer mode buttons, and now is difficult to find one with IQ lights

i love the black interior on r-line .is it optional on life?

R500k for a 1ktr +-85kw voetsek.... Even the VW salesman told me they got this wrong overpriced.

Between a second hand golf 7 R line and a second hand polo R line,which one is a good choice?

I would definitely look at the old polo model with an R line kit that I can get a fully spec one at a very low price compared to buying it new.will look for a certified pre owned though.

I bought a brand new Polo R line DSG 2021 model last year August, full house, all extras included!.. I thought I would trade in and go for 2022 Polo R line but no ways I'm not coming for that..VW disappointed on this new 1 honestly, It looks very formal, woman like, it doesn't have that aggressive exterior like the one I'm driving now... I'm so fine with my 2021 Model.✌️✌️

Very good review. And accurate information. VW is very clever when it comes to drawing people in with marketing info. It is disappointing to see that the price point does not seem worth it. It is simply not justified. Not keen on the new rims either. The pre facelift is sexier imo.

Excellent video. You are 200% right. The pricing is ridiculous. I have the pre face-lift highline r line with the 6spd manual. Looking at changing to the face-lift but pricing is ridiculous for what you get. It's like we downgrading when you compare what you get with the face-lift. VW has lost the plot.

Actually there are so many other options coming from VW competitors that if VW keeps bumping up the price of the Polo it may become obsolete like the Golf

I honestly agree with you Muzi, when I saw the R line, I was like no man, that's it?? This style package is nonsensical. I just went for the Life one. It's literally the same thing. The only thing I want is the light package.

😊I'm actually one of the guys who look down on Peugeot. I recorded the Peugeot 3008 around december last year but I'm lazy to do the editing and post the review. I feel like no one will want to see it because people hardly talk about Peugeot. I will try to check out the 208 whenever I have time.

Just an additional difference you forgot to point out is that the R-line comes standard with the update visual cockpit as well as the upgraded climate control and mood lighting. But this is still not work the price you pay. Rather go for a life dsg

It's just a cost cutting tactic and I think I have mentioned it in the video. An R-line with all the extras except IQ.lights retails for R490k. When you add IQ lights it goes to R505k and no one wants to pay that much for an R-line cos it's just insane!

This is unbelievable 😂 can someone please explain how they got to this price tag man? Honestly your right Muzi this is daylight robbery it's unacceptable.

Might as well buy the Polo GTI and get a few extras for 500K. Great video bru. 👍

The aim is to get more people into T-Cross’ rather than the polos now, SUVS and Crossovers are bread and butter now.. the price bumps are to simply slowly annihilate the polo sales enough to shift assembly back to Germany then assemble the T-Cross and T-Roc here cheaply.

Same here, not worth it, VW will make you pay 500 K for a car and still get the same plastics that you get in a polo vivo

VW has been bumping their prices for the Polo for quite some time now. I'm not surprised at this development but at the same time, this is ripping off people. Above all else, yerrr even the base Polo is out of reach for many of us. Buying second hand seems like a more viable option when buying a VW

atleast with the 2021 rline the bumper was different you could see it coming from miles. now these are the same.

Opel cars in South Africa are now distributed by Peugeot since General Motors left the country in 2017. That means your aftersale needs for your Corsa will be handled by Peugeot and I don't think I'm comfortable with that.

Damn! Robbery indeed, The Previous version of the R line was way better💯 you'd even notice that it was an R line coming from distance. Can't say the same with the new one. I bet the "difference" is just the R logo! Fully speced polo life is better with the price✌🏽.

The price is wild because the R-line now only comes as a 1.0L (85kw) DSG...If they can put the R-line body kit on the 70kw polo life manual it would be more affordable. This R-line move was just an own goal by VW.

I honestly don't know what it is about a polo, I mean Volkswagen could sell it for almost a million and people would still buy it.

What?! The R line is more than just a body kit. It has climate control, digitial cockpit, rear and front sensors, navigation system, high beam assist as standard and a lot cheaper to get add ons than if you were to put the same add ons on a Life. A Life would turn out to be even more expensive if you were to do so! So, R-Line is definitely the way to go!

Facts the R line is a rip off considering it still has the puny 1.0L 3 cyl rather get a polo GTI for little bit more money...if you can't afford the GTI the life offers 95% of what the R line does for just under 100k less

I would reather buy a 2020 polo Rline not this one just imagine spending half a million on a body kid even polo GTI is better you will show this Rline flames
