I LOVE my Street Twin. It's the same bike you're riding in this video. And the proper color name is Matte Ironstone! Loved the video! Sometimes I wish I would have went with the T120, but most of my riding is city and country roads (very little highway riding) and I can zip around on this bike very well! And oh yes, that sound is perfect!

Its torture watching someone ride my local everyday roads whilst I'm machineless. To add insult to injury I'm having to watch a fellow ex-pat Yorkshire man having all the fun 🤪😂 Ive subscribed for more torment and maybe some inspiration to get my a** in gear! 👍

A lot to like about this bike. The low seat height and plentiful torque will probably sell me one eventually and it's cheap enough to upgrade the shocks without going broke. Things I would like to see are 1) the clock from the Trident and 2) some way to shave off a few more pounds of weight.

This little beast would be my recommendation for the best first bike for someone set on a Bonneville. All the looks and enuff performance to get you going for a while. Then theres literally endless mods that can be done to increase performance later on. A keeper in other words.

Make a good daily rider. No spokes and very little polished alloy/chrome to worry about so easier to keep clean than the T100. I’m sure it provides the same riding pleasure as the T100 so may be a better choice for those who want transport for all weathers rather than a dry Sunday rider. Nice review.

The T100 has a higher seat height and dual gauges as well as spoked wheels, so I prefer it. I did read Barry Sheene's autobiography in my youth (70s) and by then he had broken most of the bones in his body. It was a good read I remember, but it put me off motorcycling for a few years.

Triumph high up on my list.I want a blacked out engine cause Ivan the Interceptor the moisture would cling to engine casings when it rained in winter in my shed with no doors. Street Twin have blacked out engine also has cast alloy wheels which be good to fix punctures on side of the road with a puncture repair kit & mini air compressor in pannier.Pity about the single clock but not a deal breaker. The T100 definitely looks better with 2 clocks & less angled seat.Pity Triumph didn't release a T100 SE model with cast alloy 17" wheels & blacked out engine.

Mr. TAYM, would you consider reviewing an Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory? Or, it's sportbike twin the RS 660? I bought one the day before we identified lung cancer as the answer to myriad problems being experienced! Wow- talk about an emotional rollercoaster & a 'lifeline' to hang on to during treatment/recovery (the bike). It's labeled as a naked bike, although fared. Stats: 400#'s, 100hp/49.4 ft./Lbs., compact footpegs w/ a mostly upright seating position. But, it looks like a race rep bike, has a HUGE electronics suite, is incredibly agile, not too loud but exceptionally quick. I've found that it is the very best handling bike I've ever touched. Sincerely. It's SO good that although I think that you'd struggle to make the appointment, you'd be absolutely WOWWED! by it while riding. No round dials, extra (cheap) buttons on handlebar...Finally, after illness & treatment, I'm down to 5' 8" @ 100Lbs., have lost all muscle mass and feel slightly uncoordinated due to lack of activity. My meager 31" of leg feels a little cramped, so I'm unsure if anyone over 6' can actually fit well. I did it, I own it outright & so far I've been able to put 260 miles on it. That ship has sailed Mr. TAYM. This was new in 2021 (replaced nothing) in a new market. Competes with: Triumph Street Triple R, KTM Super Duke 790 & Ducati SuperSport 950. Arguably, 3 of the best motorcycles ever. I'd love it, you'd love it & channel viewers get a 'looky loo' at what non-retro bikes are doing for looks, designs, colors, new technologies, etc... I'm blessed with an Indian Scout as well, so- I have a cross country, mile munching cruiser w/ a delicious Bassani 2 into 1 chrome exhaust, factory leather bags...it's AWESOME in every way and I'm blessed to be it's current steward.

A bit late watching this, but it was a good video thanks. (Did you once have a NT700?). Anyway, I have the Speed Twin 900(same bike really). I have had a a couple of T120s in the past. Then I wandered off to other bikes, including BMWs and various triples; but I had to return to Bonnevilles, not least because my wife was happy with the Bonneville pillions. My dealers didn’t have a T100 in stock, but I took the new Spreed Twin 900 out and was very happy with that. Also because I could put a top box on it for pillion comfort when needed and the odd bit of luggage. Regarding the height of the seat, my dealer recommended a moto trimmer and upholstery repairer who did a great job of raising the seat about an inch, to the same seat height as the t120/t100, using the same original cover but filled with some silicon and padding. So the seat height and leg room is no longer an issue. A riding buddy of mine thinks it’s the best sounding bike he has ever heard…

Lovely review and brings me full circle. I've tested a few of the Triumph twin road models (T100/T120 and Speed) but not the Street. Moved on to look at the W800 and came across your lovely videos. Watching your outings on Wendy made me book a test on a low mileage dealer s/h standard W800. Tbh I was very surprised and disappointed at the vibration - investigating if it is a 'bad un' and will take another out. However, it sort of returns me to Triumph which I moved away from - and you make some good comments about your love-hate with them. You refer to the other bikes Bertie and Betty and I love the naming of them, but in this video, I've a bit lost - perhaps a reminder of which is which as we get a new video. Is Betty 'the Bonnie' T120? I found the T100 a nice ride, and the T120 a locomotive by comparison (amazing torque), and the Speed Twin is just amazing - but not to live with all round. My previous searches had led me to buy a Kawasaki Z900RS (I know - how did that happen). You really should try one - my first four, and very much a twin rider for 40 years, the Z-RS is a revelation that doesn't leave me disappointed that it's a four. It was the Z that led me to the W800 as a possible companion to the Z for the slower jaunts out. But reference above comments on the W, I'm still looking - so the Street is back in the interest.

Thanks for your comment. I have owned a Z900RS Cafe, you might see it in my early videos, but sold it as it made in into a twenty year looney!!!! Absolutely loved it, and thee sound! The key to the buzz on the W800 is really thick foam grips and very quickly you get used to it/forget it.

Tell me, now you've ridden the almost mate to the T100, did you have an opinion of the difference. I know compared to Betty, your preference but you rode the T 100 after this so, knowing you bought the T 100, I guess that tells it. But if you remember the Street, vividly, what's the word. You did say you thought the single clock gave better wind deflection. Thanks again me brother.

  • @TAYM

The Street Twin was a marvellous, slightly lighter version of the T100. It has a different more sporty sound from the exhaust and as you note, only one big clock. Yes I thought it may have deflected some wind but both are naked bikes with little wind protection but also very little buffeting. The Street twin has a slightly more sporty feel and position so it feels like you have less wind blast. This could be the clock or the position, I don’t know. 😊

It’s a street twin 😁 whilst they don’t make them anymore (they are now speed twins) they were all 900cc. On the later video of the Speed Twin 900 I do mention the engine size because it might have been the 1200 😁 I do say that it’s the same size engine as the T100 which everyone knows is 900cc and that it costs about £1000 less 😁 the price at the time depended on where you bought it from and could vary by as much as a £1000 so stating a price would have been wrong for some people 😁 Most people that have managed to find this video can usually manage to find the Triumph website and or their local triumph dealer and find out the price 🤔 or is that me ? 😁 thanks PP 😁

£2500 price difference and 300cc engine size difference might have something to do with it. The street twin is a entry level Triumph, the bike that most new riders would lean towards. The speed twin is the next level up from T120 which would require a more experienced confident rider. But definitely the Speed Twin is way more desirable thank the Street Twin.

Rosslyn, Is that you TMF perhaps in your weekend guise? Or are you just a huge fanboy of his? ( Sorry if I've used inappropriate pronouns). Most bikes now replace metal with plastic, once covered with paint the ping ring test can make aluminium and plastic hard to distinguish. Perhaps you should write Triumph and other manufacturers and get them to include what every part is made from in their Specifications. Then you or TMF or whom ever you identify as at the time, can spout it all off in a video. Oh and the Street twin sounds really good, just in case you missed that fact.
