It was the UP In SMOKE Tour all over again. Amazing..
The NFL has come out in a statement and said they had no issues with Eminem kneeling and he did it each time in rehearsal. Mary J is 51, Dre is 56, Snoop is 50, Em is 49. Usually for those types of lighting effects in the crowd everyone gets a led wristband of some kind that the stadium can control wirelessly. I gotta give credit to everyone but mostly Dre on the audio quality of the performance being such the craftsman producer he is.

Magic !! being out here in Los Angeles makes it special even though I am nowhere near the stadium it's down town .
A perfect touch to this performance was an old school rap icon (MC Lyte) was the announcer in the beginning. This was hip hop at it's finest. 🔥🔥🔥
The crowd would not quit screaming the whole show !! Omg I think it’s the best Super Bowl halftime show ever !! And I’m just a country girl fm TN .. but I grew up to this music !! The city of Compton was there w the staging and everything !! I gotta start listening to Kendrick .. he has such a great performance..
Snoop and Dre have great stage presence. I love watching them the most. But I loved every part of it
As far as them all looking good for their ages, black don’t crack. Even for Eminem and his black by nature persona 🤣

The lights in the stadium are the necklaces the crowd is wearing. Pretty phat idea and they light up everytime a beat drops. Nostalgic asf with this halftime show. GOATED
One NAME: Mary J Blige - The LEGENDARY QUEEN of Hip Hop Soul and R&B! And with that we see the importance of honoring the true legends of the history of the arts, those who founded the path!
Their tone is their real powerful talent. Not electronics
Yes it is Gen X. I was in my early 20's when these artists was just starting out, and OMG this brought so many memories back for me as a Gem Xer

The artists are Gen X, but their music is not just Gen X. Millennials identify with this music as well because it's 90s music. And then these artists were all active into the 2000s with their more modern hits, and Millennials were teens and young adults when those came out.
They’re the Hip Hop Avengers up there at the end
Thanks for giving Mary J her flowers 💐🏆

The facts they were telling them what they can’t do and they said fuck it is legendary shit. Moment in time
West Coast checking in.. loved your reaction. Doesn’t get any better !!
The image on the ground is the streets of LA and the sets are based off of local landmarks in the Compton/south LA area. Like Tam’s burgers or the Compton civic center plaza
HipHop/Rap LEGENDS!! Think about how influential these artists are globally. The best show EVER.
It is nice to have this enjoyment in the pandemic...Mary"s song is so apptopriate

I'm happy you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for watching 😊
Twitter blew up with the generational argument. It was actually Gen X and Millennials. Yes the performers are the age of Gen X but the music was my youth as an older millennial
NFL said they knew he was gonna take a knee but I still think they didn't want him to. They say they saw it at the rehearsals and were aware it would happen. But it could still be entirely true they did tell him not to and he just did it at the rehearsals and they resigned, and are now trying to save face which is what I belive. Either way happy he did it
Look how Anderson is amped! He's singing along with Em. This and Prince have GOT to be my personal faves.
You ABSOLUTELY gave this show a JUSTIFIED & DESERVED reaction 👏👏💯💯. You are the only reactor that has caught & acknowledged that Piano Homage to PAC 😎💕💯. You did your thing with this one 💯💯. Thank You from all the way in Miami, Florida ( 🇺🇸 USA).
This reaction was soooo pure, loved it
I'm still fan furling over the entire production best place to watch is on the NFL sites as you get some other stuff . ANDERSON Paak took me a few watches to realize it was him but he killed the drumming Eminem didn't get enough time and I would have loved to see both Tupac and Nate Dogg on screen with their vocals . However oldies and goodies . I'm older than all of them so remember the first outings
When you said "they are in the 50's" Was like a wake up punch for me They are all in their late 40's or early 50's now. Time does fly!
When you're my age 59 you don't hear the ode Tupac, what you hear is the ode to DeBarge. That's where Dre got that tune from. The song is called "A Dream" by DeBarge.
@TheCharlieSmithChannel
2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes I know the song well. DeBarge are one of the most sampled groups in R&B and with reletively little material of their own. Crazy! I only said Tupac because I knew that's who they were honouring here 😉
Thank you Charlie I thought the same thing. He was no where near fat. He still looks good for his age. Mary's body is what I want when I get her age. Gotta start start working out now.
Incredible show! Loved all the acts. Really loved Dre and Eminem and the taking of the knee. So symbolic. It needed to be done. Driving the ring-wing extremists crazy. Show couldn’t have been better or delivered more.
It’s 2024 while I’m watching this again. 50 is ripped again!!!🩷
By the way Kendrick Lamar's outfit was a tribute to the late designer Abloah who designed the outfit .
Loved your reaction. So genuine. Subscribed! 💙
I loved this; this was a concert that the ticket holders got on top of the Super Bowl! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Jay Z produced it and Dr Dre paid for it! Boss moves! I just hope that they can take this on tour! The DANCERS! WOW! What a HOLLYWOOD production! It was seamless!

on your comment of the tone... if you watch the up in smoke tour, I think there was some talk of how Dre wants the quality of live sound to be. basically, it's his insane standards he have to thank
The NFL were actually fine with the Kneeling. They had watched the rehearsals and were fine with the kneeling, and I respect him for doing it! Most Republicans in the US, can’t stand to see too much Blackness. My music is Ballards/Gospel, but certain people in the US said they want Country music or something all white. But we won’t let their hate stop us!
I loved your reaction best one I've seen!
Luv your stance on the HIpHop performing at Super Bowl Halftime LVI Performances!!🙌🏽 Dr Dre Snoop MJB 50 Cent Kendrick Lamar Eminem and Anderson Paak !!! 🔥🔥🔥 Luv ya reactions!!’
Loved your reaction nephew 🖤🖤🖤
During the intro to the the last performance, they edited out swear words for the broadcast network television broadcast - that's why the sound goes a little choppy. The unedited version can be found on KZread.
Ha! I talked about Prince before I knew you would. It DID put a lump in my throat. My eyes water up each time I watch this show.
I think the fight was between Gen X and Millennials. They're both right. Dr Dre and Snoop are def Gen X artists... The Chronic released c. 1992 was LIFE CHANGING. Gen X holds The Chronic up there with Nevermind as far as generational records go. However, the music played was mostly from the post- Death Row era when Dre was Aftermath records, which was late 90s early 00s and would be the Millennials music. It's the dumbest thing to fight about lol
NFL allowed snoop and em to do those things after watching there practices since dr.dre was producing the whole show
Your reaction was by far the best I've seen. Can you please do reaction to the Super Bowl Halftime Trailer "The Call"

Apparently there is a Tour coming to aswell Dr.dre hinted about in an interview with Bigboy from Hot 97! a New tour with Em,kendrik,Snoop,Dre, and maybe mary J blidge!!

EM is also 50, btw. Great reaction!
Everything about this was special, but what did it for me was when Snoop did the Crip walk. You can't see it in the performance, but Snoop was actually taking a special smoke break in between his performance, lol. The clip is on KZread.
I think the claps/blinking lights were the Pepsi SB lanyards they gave out that light up.
I felt the exact same way...the only one comparable was Prince...I'm the same age as Dre and watched them all from day one...it was epic, gave me goosebumps and everything...my daughter (29) and me were celebrating and hollering the whole time!

That when hip pop was hip pop. All these kids nowadays got into the business without a passion to hip pop cause they only need money.
Honey don't you know black don't crack....LMAO!!!! Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch ....I AM BLACK!!! All of them look DAM GOOD!!!! ALL !!! That includes Em!
Amazing reaction my friend...I have seen your reactions to Dimash, the best male singer of the world...But now I ask you: Have you seen the best female singer of the world?...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable Lara Fabian...Lara is the best female singer and performer of the world...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control, which is one of the things that Dimash admires the most about Lara...She speaks 5 languages and sings like in 12 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see on KZread covers of her songs made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara, but if you don't want to, that's fine...
This guy is fine 👀 and his voice deep af
this is a karaoke video of the great vocal talent, Deden Gonzales from Indonesia. but this video has been removed by youtube at the request of the owner of the original song, Steel Hart, because the vocals are similar and better even higher according to many people and this video has been watched and responded to thousands of times, here I include links from other channels kzread.info/dash/bejne/mpegu5Wmj6yynto.html

Who's body shaming? Who said he ain't look good?
I could be wrong but when your discussing the sound of it historically the NFL will have their artist do a pre taping and that is what is aired on TV while the performers are actually performing in front of that audience but that isn't what's played on TV. The NFL started doing that in 1991 with Whitney Houston when she preformed the national anthem and a lot of people confuse it for lip syncing but it's not. From what I understand it's too hard to mute the audience out and they have to use a pre recorded track.
❤❤😊
Only Prince can compare to this Superbowl Halftime, cause Prince sang Purple 💜 Rain in the rain , ,my top 2 MJ is 3 ❤❤❤❤

Um, these are Gen X artists, so Millennials & Gen Z can chill. We all can enjoy it, but I’m at the end of Gen X & I was in high school when Snoop & Dre were starting out. Loved everything about this performance! Took me back to the clubs in high school!

Charlie Smith 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t mind the Millennials laying claim to it because it is the music of their childhood, but I don’t know how Gen Z thinks they have any claim to it. Tangentially from their Gen X parents, maybe, but on their own, nah.
@TheCharlieSmithChannel
2 жыл бұрын
No one has a claim to it. Claim for what? What exactly are you claiming for yourself? Bragging rights? I honestly don't get it at all. It's such a waste of breath. Just enjoy the music. It doesn't belong to any of us 🙄
@hmaz7637
2 жыл бұрын
Charlie Smith Laying claim isn’t about bragging rights & it certainly doesn’t mean others can’t appreciate & enjoy the music. It’s just about music that was created during a certain time & how it defines that generation. I love music from all decades, but I can’t lay claim to the music of Frank Sinatra - that defined my grandmother’s generation - or The Beatles - they were of my mom’s generation. The music of one’s childhood or of their high school & college years leaves a greater impression than that of any time later in their life or any music they discover from before they were born. Think the Woodstock generation, or the surf & drag music of the early 60’s, or the big band era of the 40’s. I can enjoy all of that, but I wasn’t around for it. No one is saying Gen Z or anyone else can’t love & appreciate the music of Dre & Snoop, but it’s different for my kids to be just discovering it now as compared to my generation (or Millennials) who were blasting that shit when it was brand new. No exclusion - I love when people discover & enjoy “our” music. I was so excited & proud to have this halftime show this year.
Uh Gen X. Jus sayin 👍😁
Well I mean they are older but there not Rolling stones age. They have a couple of good years left.
