This car is a blast to drive and the price for what you get is unbeatable, unless you don't care about AWD. This car screams quality everywhere and I have never felt so safe while driving a car before (knowing that you have AWD, etc.). The looks are a matter of personal opinion, but Subarus have never been famous for being pretty cars. However, I do feel that youtubers are being too harsh on the looks of this car. I got mine two months ago and all I get is people approaching me with "Wow!" comments (which is something I don't like because I am the type of an stealth person).

I am so glad you mentioned the WRX Wilderness idea! I personally have come to love how it looks and want to see one embrace the cladding with a lift and some meaty tires. The WRX was made for dirt roads and people just slam them and go to cars and coffee.

the beauty of the wrx is that you can take it on the track or take it on a rally adventure. a video of you driving it rally style in muddy, dirt or snow terrain would be so cool

@@carking1043 DD? Even that's a big maybe.. STI wins me over each and every time, just on differentials alone.. That's not counting the brakes, and 6 speed gear box(DCCD). As ours is also a DD. But in the winter, we have to drive ours through canyons and Ice/snow is the reason for the LSDs.. But we too have had several generations of WRX as well. Not to mention, Foresters, Tribeca, GL Sedan 4x4 Turbo from the 80s.. (I'm in my 50s)

@@Kiss__Kiss It comes down to personal preference. I was not a fan of the new rex until I saw it in person and in white. I test drove it and quickly realized this is the best driving subaru I have ever driven.

@@Shortay1325 To be honest I kinda wish I went with the premium. I didn’t realize how much I would miss keyless entry, push button start, and keyless trunk release. Also I wish my kids had the center armrest with cup holders in the back seats. Also, I think the premium has driver seat controls for lumbar support which would be nice. These items are worth the extra money because you may definitely miss them if your accustomed to it, which I was. Other than that make no mistake the Wrx drives like a dream and I love it even without the creature comforts I mentioned.

Picked mine up the other week, went with black to better blend the cladding but I love the car. Not the fastest thing but a great driving experience. Was also considering Elantra N, GTI, Si civic and even the TRD Camry. Happy with my choice (no FWD ty), they def look better in person and grow on you....plus I didn't get stiffed with any dealer markup vs some of the others we tested.

I’m actually going to Subaru too. Friend of mine for his for 3500 under MSRP so I’m going to aim for the same if not a little more if possible. Si, Elantra N and GTI are all marked up 5k+ in my area. They pretty much left me bo choice.

That's the real reason to get one of these over something like an Elantra N. A dealership near me wanted $40,000 for one while the three Subaru dealerships near me have all their WRXs $1500 off.

​@@carsonj4031yeah Subaru near me has about 4 WRXs already there and with a 1k discount on all of them, none of the other cheaper performance cars are at dealerships, ie Honda si, golf GTI, Elantra N and I wanted a Miata rf but 45k is insane for a nd Miata. Subaru seems like the only dealership actually trying to sell these performance cars

just bought a 23 premium 6 speed with the harmon kardon , roof,etc,love it so far but only 350 miles on it so i cant really get on it until 1k mile break in!

I hope they tighten up the steering rack in the next coming model years before the boxers are gone forever. I’m not a fan of Camry weighted steering I need to feel weight. Seems to do just fine on track tho

It's proportions in general look odd it looks like if Toyota made a Gr prius with its profile the fenders just make it worse, it's also to much wheel gap and it looks to high off the ground and to tall

@@ftr911drvr yeah they do look odd. Painted plastics definitely helped the look though. Someone has been running youtube ads on their channel for a shop that's building a new wrx. They have done a few mods so far and painted the plastics, and I was really surprised on how much better it made the car look. Previous gen still looks perfect imo. But I guess we take what we can get

This may be apples to oranges comparison but which would be better for twisty road, occasional track use, fun to drive, Subaru WRX VB or Mazda Miata Mx-5 ND2? Wrx is more practical and powerful for sure but which will give you more pure driving experience and enjoyment?

Should i buy a 2022 wrx but wait for a delivery date or buy à 2021 with very low mileage. I order my 2022 last august and i still waiting, buy my dealership have a 21 wrx in used inventory. Should wait a littéralement bit more or just buy the used one?

This car but with lightweight wheels, wider 200tw tires, properly set up coilover suspension, an ECU tune making 300whp/tq or more, and some track brake pads would probably be fast.

It’ll perform better than epa numbers. My 2022 BRZ gets 32 on the hwy all day long! I assume this Wrx will overperform too.

@@gregorysmaldino6947 people have been getting 29-31mpg on the wrx highway. It’s not as bad as the 26 it’s claimed to be :)

I am still holding on to some of the older aesthetics of the WRX, because I think this is really just a bland look, but maybe with time I will change my mind.

I wished more KZreadr would drive the automatic one. Everyone's doing the 6mt and understandably so but not doing the automatic only feels like a missed opportunity to many that don't have an interest in driving manual.

I feel like the wrx automatic is not worth reviewing. CVT’s are horrible for performance driving. If u want an automatic sports car in this category get an Elantra N or something with a dual clutch

The powerband is broader and there’s no rev hang. Put it this way, power comes on way earlier and stays on until redline. Can’t say that about the previous one.

Plus: the whole car. Minus: it sips premium. It CAN sip regular, but it'll drive like a Corolla. It's on my very short list. But...with these gas prices, iiieeehhh...
