I’m actually going to be installing that wiring very soon! I’ll video it! I bought the wiring harness a long time ago but I believe I got it from the etrailer.com website.

Always put lock tite on all the bolts. Even the nuts for safty chains

The bolts that came with the kit had some of that factory type stuff on them but I’m wondering if I shouldn’t go back and add the real stuff to them. I may recheck the torque on them when I get my truck back and add some if needed. Good idea on the safety chain loop nuts!

How does this compare to the factory puck systems? Advantages vs disadvantage?

The one advantage I see for the B&W is that it doesn’t spin in the mounting hole. Probably not an issue for most people but I didn’t want that to happen if I purchased a hitch that could possibly cause that to happen. An advantage of the puck system is it’s already installed if you order it on your truck so no installation! 😎 I think some fifth wheel hitches may be a little more sturdy in the puck system too. You can stow the B&W turnover ball in the bed so you don’t get grease everywhere. I’d say either system is fine for gooseneck work but some fifth wheel hitches are system specific so maybe that can sway someone one way or another depending on what fifth wheel hitch they prefer.
