If that is your son, I commend you for providing him with hearing protection. I'm 61 years old & grew up with a motorsport mad father & from around age 3 was exposed to high revving F1 & GT cars, 2 stroke bikes & open piped dragsters. Then in the 80's I worked on an operational Squadron in the Air Force & was exposed to jet turbines on a daily basis, often without protection, because there weren't enough to go around. These days it's impossible to have a conversation if there's loud music, or even a truck idling in the background.

@sergioaldana1853 I used to go to the Top Fuel Drags dozens and dozens of times in 80s 90s, early 2000s . We would buy the Pit Pass and we could stand probably 25 30 feet right behind the Top Fuel Dragsters, taking off from the Brunout line and Starting line. I've never worn any type of hearing protection. I'm 66 now and have perfect hearing. I also have been Shooting Trap and Skeet for 48 years without hearing protection. Most hearing loss is Hereditary. But it's probably a good idea to wear ear protection. At 66 I do now wear ear plugs at the Shooting Range. Hahaha
