I'm sorta new to this as far . I had a friend that raced MX in high school. He has his own practice track but to help pay for his racing he also had 300 foot drags. There was a pipe buggy class (VW mainly bus trannies with turbo/nitrous bored and stroked dual port engined) motorcycles, dirt bikes had a couple different classes each. Four wheelers stock, and stretched banshee and rocket motor on four wheels and stock swing arm bikes. The best was a "RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG DESTROY YOUR DAILY TYPE THING" for 2 bucks a pass. 2 classes 4 wheelers and dirt bike and cars and trucks. I watched the first time and after watching 4WD half ton trucks win and fought with each other. The next weekend I showed up with my 1991 GSX eclipse maybe 225 HP. 4x 235 / 15" S10 tires. Studded recap winter tread. 3rd gear pinned clutch dropped she was spinning and locking right up. I won for a few weeks until a guy in a supercharged Ford Highboy started beating me
Oh!! I just noticed! They're 4 x 4!!! Amazing!!!
Lets go my Canadian Neighbors. Michigan is pulling for you folks. Nice win
Thank you guys for the great content as usual
Awesome job on the race!
Great coverage with the interviews.
now this is my kinda racing…subscribed! 👍
Thanks enjoyed it
So glad I found your channel this stuff is so good keep it up
Man, I cannot believe I missed one of these events I didn't know that these were still going on and televised like they were, they need to promote this stuff way more when it comes to a city even if it's 20 mi from a major city or more it doesn't matter

Eh, he'd just foot down and blow it up like he does on the drag strip, I think.
That is an insanely short drag strip, wow.

Start to finish is 300 feet
@backchannelproductions, how did you ask doc Riley todo the pit interviews and are you and doc related?
Hey wieviel Meter sind es vom Start bis zum Ziel?
How Many feets the track have?
This is 300 feet right?
Nice video bro! Subscribes done…
I'm not even a casual but I'm wondering how much mud gets thrown into the superchargers?

You're supposed to be ahead of the mud if not you're doing something wrong and most use a filter to cover the ports

How long is the track you guys run on
@BackChannelStudios
Жыл бұрын
They run anywhere from 150-300 feet depending on how much shutdown is available for the facility. This particular track is 200 ft
is this just 90 or 100 metres? or ca 100 yards? why not the eight mile runs? any reason for this? thank you
@BackChannelStudios
Жыл бұрын
200 feet, so I think what 60 plus meters. Usually the facilities base the track length on availability of shut down space
@guidorollard2944

@@BackChannelStudios kinda short though for full potential of these vehicles dont you think? Unless it is a mudpitt to struggle through. But i get your point, thanks!
@BackChannelStudios
Жыл бұрын
@@guidorollard2944 there are teams shooting for potential 300 foot records, but the standard length for the speed pits was 200 feet for many years, and most facilities are either too short for the 300 foot track shut down, but the cars are capable of a lot they don’t yet get to do yes.
How does a "downgrade of the track" work? I don't follow closely enough to see why that would affect their record run times being counted.

Just the decision that was made by the officials. We weren’t there that week. Downward grade was considered to give an advantage so I believe that’s what was considered. Not agreeing or disagreeing, just reporting.

we were there it’s a brand new track in Prague Ok we hadn’t had rain in a few weeks then we got in some places Prague being one of them got around 4” of rain after the Friday night Session so the track was bad but the people who actually ran were insanely fast. Idk why they downgraded though not all driver went down the track though.
Would be more interesting if they ran them at least 1/8th mile
A comment for your algorithm.
Track not long enough. Another 300 feet would make it ALOT better.

Send one down through there at 115+mph gets hairy enough on dirt and mud in 200’. Sand can get away with 300’ as it’s more stable.

@ 31:42 Is the orange truck, that's in the lower left, Orange Blossom? Can someone confirm for me? I think that's the exact model I had back in the 80's, as a child. Him mentioning something about a blast from the past and me recognizing the truck, after all these years, was pretty damn cool.✌️🛻
