Lee Wilkins stole the show here. His draw cycle is extra smooth, cat was cool as a glass of ice Tea.

all the dudes on the podium are so good. this whole match is so good. super duper fun to watch. the fact that Lee shoot multiple match in a row and won first place is madness. and the final round is out of this world too.
1:13:37 any one would be fatigued at this point and dropping shots slightly, outstanding performance from Lee

Lee looks like he could shoot all day until tomorrow and only have to stop to have a pee.
The real champion was Lee Wilkins.
@CCRider5312

Absolutely he was ! And if Wilkins could’ve had 3 fresh arrows that the fletchings wasn’t worn out on, then Martin would’ve never beaten him !!!! If that’s a rule that the archer has to shoot the same 3 arrows match after match, well it’s a bad & certainly a unfair rule!

What a day, incredible run, and he got out of going to the wedding, so I’ll go ahead and say, yea, he was the true champion ;)
How fun is that, I would love to come to this event one day. Thanks for all the fine folks who keep putting this event on and know that you are truly appreciated. What a great opportunity and challenge it was all the way to the end, some of the best shooters on stage. Congrats to all of you for doing so well. Dale
This is great to find. Two of my kids did 4H archery over 20 years ago at Lancaster Archery. They had a great time!
Screw the olympics. This is way better. I am 62 and feel that this is something I could get into. Will definitely be looking into it and where the matches are held. Keep it up.

It's because you aren't an athlete anymore. No shame in that.
Let´s make this the most viewed LAC video again. Fantastic show Lee.
there is really something majestic about archery...and i am archer myself...when you see an archer near you ,with bow, arrow and smooth concentration, it s like the person is bigger or taller than usual, it give you some charisma and magnetism...
Great Job all the way around from competition to commentary. Really enjoyed the whole event, but especially Bare Bow
Really enjoyed watching that. Great show of talent all round. Well done all.
Great shooting gentlemen, this was awesome to watch, nice to see Lee up there also! congrats to all 🎯✌🏹❤❤
I randomly ended up here but no regrets AMAZING shooting loved every match !!!
"oh archery." I thought to myself when I saw the title of this video. "that might be a little interesting to watch." An hour and a half later. I couldn't stop watching! I'm so used to seeing Compound bows, this was so much fun to watch. Now I have to try it out. I'll see you guys there in a couple years!
Know nothing about Archery, but It was awesome to watch Lee do what he did. What a badass.
Watching Martin's release is like watching art. I swear I can hear angels sing every time he lets go. Truly a thing of beauty.

A cold 113 and best round of the day. Amazing.
Great People, Shooting and Sportsmanship, well done.
Hope I'm still shooting when I turn 79. Way to go Paul.
I know that Bottom-up format is great for the public, but it is not a fair format for the archers. Technically the last shooter comes out fresh and takes it all, when another may have had 6 matches before and shot 72 arrows. If anything they should have put Demmer at the start, defending till the end, if he's the favorite.
John took 1st sure, but Lee to the MVP of the show!
I really liked seeing Lee hand in there so well. He even kept getting better with each match. So, It was a little heartbreaking to see it go down hill because he got tired after winning 4 or 5 matches in a row. After all, there's warm up shots, etc beforehand, and Lee's older too. Young or old though, maybe there should be a 30 minute break if someone wins that many matches in a row ?

So that's part of our game. In any other tournament, Lee would not even get the chance to shoot his way up the finals ladder. He came in to the finals as the 7 seed and was able to shoot his way up to third. In our format, the lower seeds have the chance to win it all, but they have to shoot through the finals field to do it. The key is to attain as high a rank as possible. But short of that, you still have a chance to get to the podium as long as you get into the finals. If you ask the archers who compete here, that's why they love our format. All they want is a chance at the title....

Thank you for the description on the reason behind the tournament format Lancaster Archery Supply. @@LancasterArcherySupply great format imo, fun and exciting. It’s not supposed to be easy for lower seeds, many other sports have more work for lower seeds, fatigue is part of the challenge. Wilkins had a great run, podium performance, and got out of a wedding, quite a day!

As someone who loves the sport, it's admittedly usually pretty boring to watch. Lancaster changed the game with the format changes they introduced which makes it a much more exciting spectator sport.
I've been out of the Archery scene besides crossbow for the past 10 years. Got back into it last month and bought the latest and greatest Mathews $$$. That's what I shot before. I found this video by accident but after watching it I could sell everything i have and buy one of these Bows and start shoot. Shooting it well is a whole different story. Watching this got me so excited.
I've recently taken up archery, use a naked recurve and its been so much fun. I've got much to learn.
isn't that a little unfair? there's a guy standing up since the beggining, after shooting a shit load of arrows, a well rested archer comes and win... im new to the barebow...but that really catch me up!
@SonGOKU-lq8gi

Absolutely… this is clearly unfair!!! So you can put 200 participants… the first participant could have win 198 times. But if the last defeats him by postponing a single victory, then he will become the champion?!? what kind of bullshit is this?

The archers are seeded for the finals based on their scores in the qualification round, which is not televised (it's boring to watch). The qualification round is generally considered to be a better metric of skill than the final rounds (more arrows makes for less randomness). The most consistent archers who score the highest in qualifications have the least work to do in the finals. This way, you can only be pushed down one place from your qualifying mark, and each match you win after you defend your place moves you up one spot.
Amazing, Lee Wilkins... - I wish I could learn from this guy. I love the shirt too lol!
Great shoot, well done gentlemen!
I started shooting again about three or four years ago after watching this competition. I shoot barebow, and I do not miss many days at the range..... I blame you..... LOL Fantastic competition.
shooting a bow is like giving yourself a whiplash without being hurt...you feel the power and the air movement of the arrow..it's magic
This is great , the only archery I can actually watch
I applaud and amaze with your focus and charisma.👍👍👍
Lee, you won the tournament in my opinion! Maybe next time you won't draw first position, Koodos Bro!
@pjreilly3997

Just as an explainer because there seems to be some confusion about our format. Lee didn't "draw" his position that led him to shoot first. The archers are ranked according to how they shot the previous two days before the finals. So the top-ranked archer....that is the archer who shot the best scores the previous two days.....gets the No. 1 slot. The other archers behind him are positioned according to their rankings based on score. So Lee started out in the first match because he was ranked 7th among the top 8 archers. Under most tournament formats, Lee would have no chance to finish better than 7th. Our format gives archers the chance to shoot their way up the ladder. So we start with 8 vs 7. The winner advances to take on No. 6....the winner there shoots against No. 5 and so on until someone shoots against No. 1. But each archer earned the position they are in based on qualification scores. There is no randomness to the ranking.
You're right, Paul's inspiring. At 66, I'm working on getting back into archery, but I've never been at that kind of level ;)
Lee was on fire! what a showing!
Lee was there not rested ,not allowed 5 minutes to sit, well over a hour, he is the winner 🏆
This was my first bow competition to watch was pretty entertaining
Fantastic shootout, was rooting for Lee
The mid competition interviews are cracking me up. You know some of them are handling it way better than others. It's hard as hell to stay in the zone when the announcer is pulling questions out of his ass especially when you just had a bad round. lol
I was rooting for Lee so bad but after Dewayne won I rooted for him bc he is from the same town I live at and I personally know him.
im a bare bow guy since i started 8 years ago, this sport is so much fun
I started shoot barebow 48 years ago. Worst archery mistake I ever made. Now I cant get away from it.
Finally! Been waiting for this...
19:00 In case some are wondering, this looks like a slavic draw. It's one of the draw I sometimes use with a ''horsebow''. My favorite is thumb but slav works well too.
@carllightowler6670

Its not, Slavic is the middle finger that touches the arrow and its shot from the right side of the riser rather than the left.

That was fun to watch!
I've been doing backyard archery for a while. This is the first time I've seen competition archery
My father and I both use finger tabs while hunting. This year is the first year my bow has even had a peep sight. We both use a single pin. Not alot of people shoot without all these gizmos and gadgets nowadays. We have enough to make sure we hunt ethically but its fun without having all the high tech gizmos. This competition is really appealing to me. Im literally a single pin away. When I was a small child I had a play bow I would go out in the woods and play with and it had a single knock and the arrow just rested on the riser. Love this stuff!
Great Shooting!
I'd like to get into this, sounds like a very long day though, my back couldn't handle what Lee went through. I know in other sports, 2 (different) competitors will be paired up in a process of elimination until there is only 2 left, it speeds up time drastically compared to the way it was done here. Is the way the tournament is currently structured open for debate? Is there other types of bow tournaments done differently? I may lean in that direction before I bought a barebow. Thanks for any input
Inspiring me to get the old recurve out and do a little barebow.
I feel that Eddie K may have had some difficulty due to the long holds. Doesn't matter if these bows are low draw weight as compared to a compound bow, after awhile your arm begins to twitch a bit and you could see that a couple of times in Eddie's releases.
I am just picking up the sport and loved watching this. How do we compete in this classic? I need to set a goal to compete at the Lancaster!!
Top class shooting start to finish ... maybe in next life I can do the same :-)
Amazing shooting gentlemen good luck
loved it barebow baby!!
Can’t wait to see how Leo does this year!
Holy views batman! Coming close to 900k! GO BAREBOW!!

I wanted to see Lee win so bad. His draw is so unique.
the instant-sound feedback, the announcers, this is very fun to spectate
Not really fair: one guy shoots 96 arrows to win and one guy can only shoot 12 to win.

The archers who rank higher in qualifying have less work to do in the finals. The qualifying round is generally considered to be the better metric of skill (more arrows means less randomness), but it just isn't televised because it's boring to watch. These rounds are there to give more archers a fighting chance at the podium, but the less well you did in qualifying, the harder it is to reach the top.
It’s awesome to see a Kifaru Field Quiver on the big stage.
I love watching Dwayne shoot I remember long time ago probably 15 years ago Dwayne and I were shooting in a national championship and I was having a stellar day and he said to me you know you will beat me here and there but by the end of the year I will win and I kind of laughed and I said why is that and he said you shoot instinctively I aim he said overtime I will have a higher score and look he sure does I’m proud of you stay with it my friend
amazing athletes
oh and just a small point , watch Demmers bow arm {left} its rock solid after he takes his shot , spot on
This is the first video Ive watched of archery. Not going to lie, the community seems awesome.
Barebow thie is awesome!
Sweet shooting
the way leo takes his arrow from his quiver is sweet
Great shootout.
I want a Barebow now!!!
I love Lee's Anchor
Is there a reason or purpose for the white circle on the 6-7 line? I'm guessing it's to delineate between the 6 ring and the 7 ring so it can be seen from the shooting distance? Am I right?
What is the point in Lee seeing of all the other contenders getting seriously tired and missing shots against a fresh opponent. Common sense surely would be better to have the winner of each pair to go through to the quarters, then semi and then final. Or are we missing something in the Uk
Props to the great commentators. They are memes just themselves.
Wow! A Scout arrow? Cool. We called it a Sensing Round Good info
Someone needs to make an IDP type comp with bows...that would be pretty entertaining to watch.
So as a beginner I'm learning that theres no real traditional way in the pull, I was told you must pull back to the ear but clearly it's just a case of each to their own. Much like guitar I guess, everyone has their own ways that works for them.
Great device
Great competition ! By the way what risers do they use ?
I watched the compound and bare bow shoots and i gota say the bare bow is more fun to watch. The bare bow shooters are mostly just there to have fun it seems like.
Lee said during qualification that he needs to wear silly shirts so people remember him. I don't think that will be the case anymore.
Nice! what poundage are the bows in this competitions?
Anyone know what size abs bite types they're using
What is the button they keep talking about? Please and thank your, someone help me out
What kind of system do they shoot? If its gap shooting, their arrows are kinda short, or not? I wonder how they do it
