Hello, I just got my Carnival this week, trying to make the screen audio work but no luck yet, do the screen come with their own native audio, or will they only work with the cars sound system/ Bluetooth headphones

I cannot seem to find a way to connect Bluetooth headphones to the screens. It seems like it is Bluetooth to the vehicle infotainment system or hard wired headphones. Is this correct? Or am I just not finding the setting to set up Bluetooth headphones? Thanks!

How do you get the audio to play through the speakers ?

I tested connecting a Nintendo switch. It works well enough, though there is some input lag and visual quality isn’t great. I will try fiddling with the lip sync adjuster and see if that helps.

Is this the same in a Kia telluride the rear entertainment system?

I have the 2022 SX Carnival and I cannot get the sound to work without headphones, I have had this van since early 2021 and my dealership is not any help navigating this

Thank you for the review, it helped a lot. Just brought ours home today and not impressed with the entertainment system even with Netflix the visual is crap and the audio and visual don’t match up. Also having a hard time figuring out how both screens can be used at the same time, I hope they will be able to once we get Bluetooth head phones... which I’m disappointed that none came with the vehicle

Congrats! Yeah it definitely has flaws and true, no headphones which is an oversight. The screens can be connected via the screen sharing mode. You can try the lip sync adjuster to see if it helps with audio delay, otherwise that’s a bummer!

What would you suggest if I purchased an LX trim with the seat package and the dealership told me it was the new RSE with Carousel Home Screen and Apple connection, only to find when we bring it home… it’s not!

Does the screen come off?

Do you find that you must reconnect to WiFi or hotspot each time you start the vehicle? I have not been able to get it to connect automatically and this is cumbersome since my kids are too young to do it themselves. Any solutions? Thanks!

Do the screens articulate? Our driver side screen is at a different angle than the passenger side but I don't see a way to tip or move the screen.

The screens will tilt up and down, but the mounts they are on don't allow you to move the actual screen up or down

the problem is if the rear screen audio is connected to main speakers thru bluetooth and you plug in Apple CarPlay the bluetooth shut down.. and there is no choice to select audio in the front screen. So basically if you have your phone plugged in for maps etc. the rear sound disappears and no option to bring it back.

Mine is playing through the cars stereo. The screens themselves do not have speakers. So you can Bluetooth connect to the stereo, or you will need headphones (wired or wireless)

You have to connect to your hotspot every time. Mine worked fine but since it made my phone extremely hot during our travel, I just bought a mobile hotspot from Verizon.

You have to set it up on each screen. Not just through the front radio

Do you happen to have the parts number for the rear entertainment system? Ours is located on the back of the screen but it seems that we were provided the older model, the ones that look like the 21 Telluride. The dealership hasn’t been helpful unfortunately. I appreciate any help!

It looks like the T-ride/Sorento = part number: S9F58-AC100, and the Carnival (Model Year 22) = model number: MTXRSE150. Hope this helps!

Congrats! I believe the USB port is for a usb stick or similar only. A wired connection from the iPad will likely require a lightning to hdmi adapter.

I’m having the same problem. Mirroring isn’t working (unavailable) and usb isn’t working! I haven’t tried the hdmi to lightening but seems that isn’t working either.

@@lauracrowell1751 One thing you can try is to reset the whole car by disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery and letting the system discharge. And like Upshift Car Blog said, the USB may be designed for flash drives only

Any advice on IOS device mirroring? It doesn't play uploaded movies or shows from ipad or iphone. I tried streaming from Netflix from my iphone and down loaded shows and it didn't work. The system really seems to just support streaming through the native apps.

A quirk I noticed was that if your phone is the WiFi hotspot, device mirroring doesn’t work. So you may need two devices. For example, a pocket WiFi to generate the WiFi hotspot, your phone or iOS device you want to stream from connected to the pocket WiFi’s network, and the screens also connected to the pocket WiFi’s network. If that doesn’t work then I’m not really sure.

I tried using my husbands phone as a hotspot for both my phone and the entertainment screen and it just wouldn't work. Even when I tried playing streaming content because it says it doesn't support downloaded content yet.

I’d suggest contacting your dealership as some people reported inverter issues in early models

That plus the lack of speakers has been annoying (had to buy jack plug in speakers and now I need a dvd because I can't take baby shark any more and connection is too slow ) help!

I am confused. I just bought the SX and this system is NOT easy to figure out. Even the sales folks at my dealership are having trouble figuring this system out. You keep saying WiFi. How does it work when you're out on the road and not near your WiFi connection? If I am driving down the road with my 4yo granddaughter in the car, how does she watch anything?

Out on the road is where you will need a portable wifi hotspot. Some smartphones have WiFi hotspot capability, or you can buy a device online or from your carrier.

I had high hopes for this system. But it just doesn’t have great directions and it’s not very accessible. Why have a device that relies so heavily on wifi when the car doesn’t have wifi capabilities. We rarely use it- love the car, but disappointed in this aspect

No DVD player of any sort is installed with this system. You would have to bring your own

i will receive SX prestige with tablet in January 2022.....

Vehicle has very nice features, you spent to much time on tablets wifi not good.

Disappointing
