    Why on earth the 2.0L Diesel is available in Australia while it is not in Europe, where there’s still much demand for these kind of engines?

    Not a single person buying a Tucson or Sportage in europe needs 190hp. And emissions is a huge factor. Only the police would. Also might I add that 2.0 diesel sounds quite rough and far worse than the 1.6 CRDi.

    Nice review bud ... Love the way you described the exterior looks .... By the way I have a question ... By the looks of it -seems like the engine is mounted longitudinally - is that the case ?

    If you look closely at 5:21 you can see the accessory belt spinning on the left side, so it's transverse. The plastic cover just makes it look longitudinal, probably for the sake of style.

    I really do like what kia/ hyundai is doing with their styling these days, its defiantly not for everyone, but I love a unique looking car. Plus I feel they have to try and stand out in one way or another after making mediocre cars for decades.

    Doesn't the Hyudai have about 23 litres of more fuel in it? Temparture does make a difference for turbos particularly in performance

    It's interesting how the braking distance varies so much between the Santa Fe vs Tuscon (Santa Fe having significantly better braking distance by far) in comparison.

    @@ThomasFG in 99% of cases with modern cars it’s the tyres that make the most difference during a single stop from 100km/h which is what PDrive does. The brakes are powerful enough to lock up the tyres and they won’t fade during a single stop. Therefore the main thing that separates them is the tyre

    Why is the Kia with the same running gear as the Hyundai always quicker?

  • @kurts9085

    @kurts9085

    Жыл бұрын

    I've got a running theory that pending the car in question Hyundai has a more invasive torque reduction system in place in their transmission tune. Classic is the 1.6T Cerato versus i30, the Cerato GT rips through first gear and bangs through the next few gears whilst the i30 is pretty slow under 3k rpm to build up revs from start and rolling acceleration isn't close. It's basically has to be something in the tune as like you say the mechanicals are identical or near to.
