    You did a fantastic job on your review! I bought a 2021 Caligraphy trim level in Feb and LOVE it. Your review was the best I have seen so far and I have been watching them for a year. I need to go press that button so I can take my foot off the break at times! I had no idea what it was for. Also, the lights that come on at night inside the vehicle are amazing. Just purchased an SEL Premium AWD and it's an amazing car. The review was spot on, The only option we did not get was the ventilated seats and the display in the dash when using the turn signal. Would have liked that but availability can be a challenge in today's market. Overall super happy with our choice.

    Great review. Purchased a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy AWD: but there are some areas for improvement: add power folding exterior side mirrors, add sunglass holder in interior and add illumination for the overhead light buttons and those rims on calligraphy trim are a bit 'loud', design something more classy; and last but not least, consider adding hybrid powertrain as is offered on many other Hyundai products.

    A surprising thing for me was that for my 2 wheel drive in comfort mode with two people inside a 90 miles drive from Miami to Naples Estates (Florida) on US41/FL29 with an average speed of 60mph I got a 33mpg fuel consumption. For Canadians that is a (about) 150km drive with an average speed of 100km/h I got 7.13l/100 km. US41 is relatively free so this is not your regular drive but still the fuel economy was impressive for such a big engine. Another thing that surprised me is the excellent visibility from inside. My previous car was a Murano (Nissan) and the visibility inside the Palisade is much better. It is a bigger car, granted, so I may be comparing apples and oranges, but it is still worth mentioning. The only thing I liked less was the lack of right hand support for the driver, I am used to having one and I miss it. I guess it is a matter of getting used to the absence but for now it bothers me.

    It's going to be tricky to find a Palisade with 500k - 600k km because it was released for the 2020 model. There are some on Cargurus with 50,000 miles and AutoTrader with 100,000 km at most. Having said that there doesn't seem to be many complaints about the Palisade engine. Either way you'd be covered by the Hyundai warranty with the option of extending it for added peace of mind

    Massage seats would be nice, but may affect the price point. Was is disappointing is the lack of wireless Apple Car Play at the higher trims, no power folding side mirrors, and no fog lights.

  • @CarsWithSteve

    @CarsWithSteve

    Exactly my thoughts on the massage seats. Hopping into the higher trim Hyundai cars it's a bit odd not having wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. But at the same time it's not a huge hassle having to plug in, especially with all the powerpoints it has Definitely a few parts cut but for the price point it's hard to beat. Is this one on the list of potentials or are you in one already?

    For 2023 Calligraphy trim, the Palisade has several new interior features: massage feature for driver seats (it's called ergo motion, I think), wings on captain chair's head-rest that can fold like airplane head-rest, digital rear mirror, heated third-row, new steering wheel, faster wireless charger, etc. Not sure how much the price will increase, though.

    The one very bad flaw that I have found in my 21 Palisade are the windshield wipers.in our northern climate.When the snow and ice melt on the windshield the water runs down and freezes the wipers.It does not thaw when the car is running. You have to lift the hood and chip the ice.you also cannot extend the wipers away from the windshield to keep them from freezing without lifting the hood.Very dangerous when driving and if they don't work.

  • @CarsWithSteve

    @CarsWithSteve

    2 жыл бұрын

    The water rundown and freeze would happen on most vehicles but a heated windshield wiper could take care of some of that. I didn’t realize the wipers wouldn’t extend properly.. will have to take a look at that next time I’m in one

  • @LamNguyen-sr1sy

    @LamNguyen-sr1sy

    2 жыл бұрын

    From inside, if you push the wiper lever all the way up (as if you want to wipe the water quickly) and hold the the lever up (don't release it), the front wipers will stay up half-way on the windshield - I believe this is called service mode which is a position designed to change the blades. You can then lift up the blades and clean the windshield as normal. You just have to remember doing this before the snow comes, like some people lift up the wipers to get ready for a snow fall. Hope that helps.
