@@AsianPetrolhead That seems pretty weak to me...it can't handle another 10 horsepower for more than 20 seconds? I mean, 10hp is barely noticeable. It's probably easier to tell since you have to physically trigger it but if it just did it automatically (a couple GM models come to mind) I doubt anyone would even notice.

Great video... thanks for the ride-along. Fun car for sure, and the price is right.

Great review! I don't have the Kona N but I do have the 2022 Kona Preferred and I really like it! Handles well and sometimes I catch myself driving too fast on the highway because it's so smooth!

Looks like a fun little car and a great track layout with plenty of undulations. Makes you wonder how they found what looks to be the flattest piece of land in Korea to build the F1 circuit on back in the day.. Looking forward to seeing this when it lands in Australia!

I purchased my Sonic Blue Kona N for MSRP from Earnhardt Hyundai in North Scottsdale, AZ, at the end of May 2022. It now has 2112 miles on the odometer, most of which were accumulated on freeways over long distances and substantial changes in elevation. Confession being good for the soul, I must plead guilty to committing the ultimate N Sin: I've been driving the car in "Normal" mode almost exclusively since I bought it, and have only experimented with N mode a time or two. With the Kona N, "Normal" is anything but Granny Mode: The car is just so damn nifty-quick, the handling is confidence-inspiring, and the suspension feels just right. It's immensely satisfying to drive as-is, but it's also reassuring to know it is capable of delivering so much more ... under controlled conditions on the track.

i believe im in love with the all white with red emphasizing the sportiness. the spoiler looks menacing and the triangle rain light matches the style. first mod would be wheels and tires, and straight pipe maybe even sway bars if its needed

I have a Veloster N... don’t straight pipe these things they are totally loud enough in N mode and being able to shut them up is super nice. Also wheels and tires kinda *ruin* (but not really) the car. I put Michelin pilot sport 4s tires on mine and they really don’t have the same feel as the pirellis. Cheers!

Better make sure its the kona n not the kona n line they got me i was thinkn hole time it was one from video but with a 500 doller chip and blow off valve i got same horse power.

Love it! Love the Veloster, but man if i can get same performance in a slightly larger vehicle, im sold!

Yes, this Kona N is fun to drive.

I took my very tall wife to try out what Hyundai had to offer. She loved both the Veloster (which has far more interior room than you'd expect) and the Kona. So getting a more powerful iteration of the Kona is a good thing, and puts it back on our shortlist for the new vehicle. North American highways need more from an engine, especially in the mountains where we live. You can use vehicles with lower displacement or less horsepower, but you'll be slow, and end up frustrated behind traffic, or the one who frustrates others. This Kona N keeps that from happening.

the exterior needs some time for me to get used to it....but the interior n the liveliness of the engines n sound really hook me up. great job Hyundai. i also love the new graphic design for digital cluster instrument when u put it in N-mode. hopefully Hyundai make more N version b4 went to fully electric cuz lots of people like N version since i30N were introduced. thanks Oppa for always bringing lovely video and always being cheerful and enthusiastic. stay positive, safe and healthy. tc.

Hey cool video! I switched from the Kona 1.6 liter to the Kona N 2.0 liter about 1 month ago and can only confirm that there is a huge difference. The car is noticeably better on the road, has noticeably more power and looks sportier inside and out. The comfort seats are also more comfortable, hold you better and are not only heated but also ventilated. In addition, the armrests on the doors are padded and not just made of hard plastic. My recommendation, if Kona then the Kona N or if you want to drive slowly and economically the very small 3 cylinder Kona. The 1.6 liter is not a good idea. It consumes a lot of petrol, but spoils the fun of driving because of the small brakes and poor chassis. I wish you a good trip!

Loving the aggressive look of the Kona N, but really can't wait to see the Elantra N.

Just bought a veloster N a week ago and it is awesome but Hyundai just keeps getting better

That pricing is awesome for what's packaged in the car.

I would be in line for one tomorrow if Hyundai was offering the Kona N with a 6 sp.

Yes, this Kona N looks quite promising.

Kdm has a come a long way these cars from Kia and Hyundai are amazing 🤩 Also are these awd or fwd

Thanks for the review. I have a 2018 1.6T AWD Kona and really like it. It’s hard to explain but it feels like whoever designed it was a car enthusiast. No mechanical issues or rattles yet also. The N Kona doesn’t come with AWD but I feel that I don’t need the AWD function since I rarely drive in snow here in Northern California. When the N Kona comes to my local Hyundai dealer I will check it out. It has about 100 more horse power than my Kona and my Kona is already pretty perky.

Yes, the Kona N really enjoys taking hard corners.

💪🏻Wow!. 😍Yes!. Looks really good.😎👍🏼 I waiting for next time more powerful Inline Twin turbocharger (=small and large turbocharger...) engine and 300-320hp... Performance package model.😎

I own a kona and love it with the 1.6 turbo awd and its peppy with the little hp it has. This however looks super fun and cant wait to test drive it.

Bought it through a dealership and get it fully serviced every 4000 miles. Sorry your experience wasn't the best maybe up your money so you can properly care for your car next time🤷‍♂️

I don't care about the rain, South Korea looks fantastic. Definitely will be holidaying there when my financial situation changes🇬🇧👍
