Honda did a great job on the re-design. Too bad dealers are price gouging customers. Here in my area they want $3K over MSRP for a Sport trim with manual transmission.

As someone who simply doesn't like modern stuff on cars, I'm kind of at an impasse - either invest a bunch of money in my 15 year old car, or find the "least" tech car I can find new. Being a manual transmission/hatchback guy - I'm down to only three potential new cars. At a glance no one in my area even has Civics for sale. This Sport model is available with a manual transmission, so it's one of the few I'd consider.

It's crazy that you have to get a hatch in 2022 for it to look like a Civic and not an Accord! I love my 2016 Civic ext.. this one looks a lot more like mine.. Lunar silver too. however there's other 2022 hatch's that look like an Accord still.. I guess it's this "sport" edition?

I test drove the both the Civic sedan EX(1.5T) and the Hatchback Sport (2.0) CVT and discovered something very surprising. For the sedan EX, the sticker said the car was assembled in Canada with both engine & CVT built in the USA; the Sport version like this one in the video was assembled in Greensburg Indiana with the engine built in USA but the transmission in Mexico. While I love how both car drive, but I wonder why Honda built the tranny in Mexico? Me no like...👎 I love the hatchback configuration and the Sport model did not disappoint. At my age, t seldom floor the throttle any more and the partial throttle response from the 2.0L is adequate and the CVT is very responsive, smooth & efficient. The Sport model has tighter steering & feel while still comfortable and it's fun to drive. I wonder if the Sport has a stiffer suspension or not. I prefer the 2.0L engine because I plan on keeping my next car >10 years. But there are 3 things I don't like: (1) the CVT was built in Mexico; (2) no blind spot warning (Honda, I would trade the lane assist with blind spot warning feature please); (3) no rear AC vents (c'mon Honda, are you kidding me?!). FYI, the hybrid Civic Hatchback has both the #2 & #3 but they took out the spare tire from the videos that I saw which maybe a deal breaker for me.

I am seriously considering the Honda Civic sport hatchback as my next vehicle. And I'm going to be honest. I really didn't like the performance figures on paper of the standard sport 2.0 engine. Originally I was completely disregarding the 2.0 in favor of the 1.6 turbo. However, after watching your video review. I'm really impressed with what I watched and have new opinions on the 2.0 engine and willing to give it a chance. I really valued your review on this video.

Forgot to mention that I want an manual transmission #1 above all else. Currently in second continuation is the Kia forte GT in manual, and in 3rd place the Nissan Versa also in manual. The Versa gets the best MPG above all of them and is cheaper, but is slightly under powered. After seeing the voluptmous cargo space on the Civic Hatchback "despite" the head rest on the center seat right in the way of the rear window, the non- real speedometer, the "paddle" parking break, and nonexistent Deep Blue paint scheme. Best vehicle I have looked at but I can't quite financially close the deal on the turbo package (sport touring) trim. 🏹🤠👍
