You have good taste in bikes Dave, and this one is really light and easy to ride around. A real pleasure really. I think you would find this a good choice. The CBR is great too though and although a sports bike -it is really comfy and nice to hoot around on. Have a good week bud!

Had my 2021 model for a month, upgraded from a CB125, easily fast enough for a first big bike and I can fit on it (6’2”), highly recommend it. The CB650R feels a good bit heavier and is more cramped on the legs.

Duel discs is a bloody good upgrade from the previous generations, can never have too much braking power. Nice to see Honda have put some money towards the tyres it comes with, always nice especially for a rider returning to riding after a few years. Looking forward to the full review. Apologies it's taken me so long to come over to your channel, recently got told my channel is becoming like yours with all the first ride reviews I've been doing aha. I was a despatch rider between 1985 and 1997. I rode over 320, 000 miles in those 12 years and the most reliable bikes were the Hondas. The superdreams and the CX 500 were very popular among professional delivery riders, but also the Suzuki GS 750 and 850 shaft drive were bombproof. I still have an original 400 superdream in my garage with 75,000 miles on the clock, the Honda twins will last a long time if you change the oil and oil filter every 3,000 miles and don't rev it above 7,000 rpm.

Good video, as usual, ER. Not everyone wants a 200 hp rocket bike, and where can you begin to use a motorcycle capable of 150+ mph? Twin front disc setup is a good upgrade and I wish my 2021 NC 750x had the extra stopping power. Absolutely love the NC but an extra disc would be nice. Keep the vids coming as I will have to put my bikes in storage soon here in Wisconsin, and I need these to get me thru the winter in the Frozen Tundra. All the best!

Great review. I have the older 500X and would love to upgrade to the new one, but budgets considered it’s a bit of a stretch. The Honda 500 trio now are unbeatable and bullet proof is the right description. With Triumph making a small 660 Tiger, I don’t know why Honda don’t do an X version with the 650 engine. And what is the new NT1100 for? It tries to be all things to all people and doesn’t quite pull any of it off. Love the 1100 Rebel and hope you get to review it.

Great review and thank you! I look forwards to the more detailed one to come. Looks wise, I think the CB500R variant, and the CB500F variant look the best between those and the CB500X variant. However, if you also would like to do some touring, then the CB500X with screen and optional luggage would come into it's own I think. From reading, it appears the CB500F is the biggest seller at around 50%, then the CB500X at some 37% and the CB500R making up the balance. Apparently most riders coming to the CB500F are under 34 years of age, whereas the CB500X attracts an older and more experienced rider demographic - those downsizing or re-commencing riding. I hope you get to ride the latest 2022 CB500X and are able to draw some comparisons between the different models in the 500 range. :-)

I didn't like the way the 500x was fuelling mapped, the F and the CBR felt much more alive so I'm OK with the power side of things as long as its mapped like the F. I hear they have retuned the X now so maybe its come alive a bit more. Idlike to find out 👍🍻

I have a 2018 CB650F and in a way it feels like the ugly duckling. It didn't see the upgraded display like the 500F from the same year did and it was quickly replaced by the 650R (Don't get me wrong, I'm very fond of the styling of the R). I was at my local Honda dealership a couple of weeks ago and they had a new CB500F on the showroom floor. It is a very nice looking bike. It seems a little pricey compared to similar bikes but already owning a 650F gives me a bit of a soft spot for them. The color was a bit surprising but as the video went on, it began to grown on me.

I agree, it would take nothing to re-hash it as an 800. The NC750X which I’ve test rode, both last and newest model, just doesn’t cut it.
