2022+ GR86 Air Oil Separator Install
Oil in the intake system can cause lower octane which can lead to detonation, a decrease in power/efficiency, and unwanted carbon build up! Make sure you're trapping the oil and keeping the intake system clean with a Verus Engineering Air Oil Separator. This reroutes the lines of the PCV system and acts as an in line filter to trap the oil particles keeping your engine running healthy.

Love how these new videos are coming out. Very warm, very cozy, and overall chill vibes. Keep it up!

@@KevinVo They're a lot more relatable, to be honest. We don't have lifts and shops, so we struggle to mod our cars exactly like this.
A man with his GR86 in his not too big or not too small garage, tastefully modifying away his GR86 and making quality videos.
Keep the builds coming Kev. We’re here to support your new brand. Nobody else on KZread is doing a series on a GR86 as well as you have, there’s honestly no competition imo. Now that it’s full bolt-ons, are you planning to do any forced induction in the future?

I'm going to play around with some different exhaust and intake setups to see what I like best and then maybe I'll look into it in the future. Right now, I really don't have the means to do it. Truly appreciate your support!
Damn loving the music vibe! Has that Gran Tursimo garage mode while choosing you car to race with! 😂

I probably missed a few vids, but I'm glad to see ya picked yourself up and you're back making vids for the 86/brz platform. Woo!
I was always wondering if anyone else had those lines on their windows when it rains or when it’s cold and your video just answered that question.

It's the felt guides that are in the door. No way around it really.
Hey Kevin - I installed that AOS over the weekend, with the oil drain back and coolant kits. Fairly straight forward, a bit of a tricky one with the coolant line from the throttle body. Your video was really helpful with the AOS installation, and you same me a TON of headache with the air conditioning compressor removal. Thank you!

How has it been holding up? Does it have any actual effect?
I can't believe that upper hose didn't even have a clamp on it, wierd. I would clamp all those new hoses bro, not with cable ties either lol. Get some nice looking clamps on there. Great video, still waiting for my 86 to arrive ...
My thought is.... The car is dual injected. Just let the blowby get sucked up. The port injectors will wash it all clean. No harm done. If adding forced induction maybe I would consider it, but probably not. Lol

The oil can still lower the octane and cause detonation which means you're not getting the most performance, but maybe I'm just future proofing for something that may or may not be coming haha
That is way fancier than the regular catch cans that we have in our other cars. Nice!

So you wouldn’t need a catch can anymore if you get this?
I have a first gen and have the red intake to put on my automatic. This helped me know where all the hoses go and how to disconnect what I need.
finally ive been waiting for an AOS for this gen!
Keep 'em coming Kev. Good to see you still giving us great content!
Good thing spring is almost here, so u would need the heater anymore.

Spring is a long ways away for me! haha but I'll get through it!
I recommend stapling some insulation up and screwing some drywall in. Will make the worlds difference with warmth of course if you have the extra funds to do so. Loving the new vids bro. I no longer have a Subaru but you were the first face I saw joining the Subaru community and were very helpful. It’s great you’re staying around and will be happy to see you grow👍

Appreciate your support! Will be looking into some insulation soon!
Looks great and the importance of an AOS is often overlooked! Damn, if that isn't a lot of work, though!. Excellent video, love these! 👍

Ready for a track day now
Ran the COBB AOS on my 2020 WRX. I thought Toyota direct port injection motors had injectors above the valves to prevent the gum up?
Great information. I saw this after the Perrin video and ordered the AOS from there.
Same great content, different location 😉

Don’t stop making content bro ❤
Love this was wondering about the drain back kit. Thanks again for making some of the best install videos out there. I said it before but you could make training videos for automotive tech vids.
Nice! I hope to do one of these and a jackson racing oil cooler eventually

Also, I see the value in terms of preventative mantinance, but what are your thoughts on this voiding warranty?
@KevinVo
Жыл бұрын
If you're worried about voiding your warranty, my opinion would be just to get the car, drive it, and do aesthetic mods until the warranty is up.
Finally catching up on your videos! Keep up the great work! Still waiting on the video where you rip off the FT stickers from the FRS lol.

Hey Great Vid! If you don't mind me asking...what camera are you using? Your videos look so clean.
More good content as usual!
Will you be getting the JDM TRD GR Rear V trunk chassis brace for your car?
I've been noticing some seepage at the drain back kit on mine. Keep an eye out and make sure those zip ties are tight!

@Kevin Vo, right where the fitting on the bottom screws in. Think I'm going to take it out, check all the connections, and retape them.
Why does this look harder to do than the bushings videos lol
Could you please do a video on what the best Turbo kit out is or rank the different kits cus I definitely want to Turbo mine but don't know what's out there also a brake kit for the car what fits etc
I just hit ice and totaled my 23’ 86. I Really miss it
Let’s go kev!
Hey Kevin, how’s the airbag light situation coming along? I have aftermarket seats in myself and have yet to figure out the passenger side. Anyway love the vids !

Does the AOS bracket touch the hard line on the firewall? Sorry it's hard to see.

Nope, just enough clearance!
Kevin, please help me, I have a GT86 and the HPFP is making the cricket noise. Do you know if there is an aftermarket HPFP that solves the noise
She just needs some ap racing brakes from your old frs and she would be done 😩😩😩
does this work on the 1st gen? ive been wanting to get one for my frs to improve reliability
Anyone else call a wobble a swivel?
Wouldn't oil or fuel additives clear the carbon build up making this unnecessary?
@KevinVo
Жыл бұрын
If oil is still getting in there it can still have negative effects to the engine.
I have a question, did you have to trim any part for fit your wheels?
Hey Kevin, hope all is well! Quick question, do you think that this would be a worth it investment for a daily driver/ occasional track run? I daily my gr86 and maybe 3 times a year track driven. What do you think?
@KevinVo
Жыл бұрын
Personally I think so, especially if you get the drain back kit and coolant add on because it's essentially maintenance free and you don't have to do anything to it. It's not that expensive, it's easy to install. For me it was a no brainer.
How diff compare to oil can catch?
Great video Kevin. Thanks man. Please excuse my ignorance. I've always used mechanics gloves when working on my cars. So I don't swear as much when wrench slips and I punch the block. (Once was enough lol.) I'm curious as to why you're using latex gloves. I see you're very intentional how you go about things. Why those gloves?
@KevinVo
Жыл бұрын
I wear mechanics gloves from time to time as well, but because mechanics gloves are on the thicker side you lose some of the finer movements when you have them on. With the latex gloves I can be very precise and get into tight spots.
Lets gooo!
Not worth that money - $30 ones will do the same job
A lot of work for a questionable benefit.
