Summer is fast approaching, and that means it's time for the annual refrigerator condenser cleanings. First up will be the 2022 GE refrigerator, in the kitchen.
This is the time of year I prefer to clean accumulated dust out of the condenser coil, so they are working at peak efficiency during the Summer months. Keeping the condenser coil clean will likely prolong the life of a refrigerator, by keeping fan airflow to maximum output, and keeping the refrigerant pressures within specifications. I know it has in my household, as the GE side by side from 1982, is still working perfectly. Also, it's a great time to inspect for leaks, or other issues, before they continue to get worse. I found a leaking connection to the ice maker, last year. Fortunately, no issues this year. Just a cleanup, and place back into it's spot.
