2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance Package: Start Up, Exhaust, POV, Test Drive and Review
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
👋 Take a look at the best offering from Ford on the EcoBoost Mustang! This new Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback has the High Performance Package making 330 HP and 350 TQ. Is this enough to make the EcoBoost worth the money? You also get an active exhaust, magnetic suspension, Brembo brakes and more! The Mustang Premium has leather appointed seats and a massive 12in gauge cluster screen with several drive modes that configure the design. The Mustang EcoBoost with High Performance Package does look really good! Especially in Grabber Blue the lines pop! I love the grille with the offset Pony badge, and the 19in wheels look good! Nice sharp lines all around! The 2.3L EcoBoost engine sounds really nice for a 4 cylinder turbo with the active exhaust. I will say I don't like the 10 speed automatic at all. Very jerky in low speeds and while the shifts are quick, they jerk the car in a weird way. Ton of power in the EcoBoost which makes it a very car tho! Magnetic ride suspension is really good tho! It firms up well in track mode for a tight feel, and softens up in comfort mode. To be honest the EcoBoost with High Performance package is a solid car. However for similar money you could buy a 4 cylinder Toyota Supra or a BMW M240i. For me, I just can't see dropping the money on the EcoBoost Mustang since it wont handle even remotely close to the M240i, and the BMW has a crazy good B58 inline 6 cylinder turbo motor. Far superior to the 4 banger. This is one expensive Mustang. It's practical and roomy with good comfortable driving dynamics. And it does handle decent for a Mustang. But I think every category the BMW M240i is a big step better for barley more money. At this price I'd like a V8 and Tremec manual transmission? What do you EcoBoost Mustang fans think?
Do you want the best performance out of your 2022 or 2023 Ford Mustang? Then you need to check out the EcoBoost High Performance Package! In this video, we'll show you everything you need to know about the 2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance Package, from start up to exhaust to driving and a review with my honest thoughts about it's hefty price tag.

Thanks for making this video. Seems to be a clone of what I bought. I bought a 2023 Mustang ecoboost premium convertible in grabber blue - added 201A equipment group + active valve perf exhaust. Did not include the high performance package for $6,500 as I dont need that extra horsepower but its all leather with the stitching and larger screen. All looks really nice inside. My total was 60 thousand Canadian. I don't need an 8 cyclinder for daily driving. I could've got the GT for the same price approximately but with no convertible top. This is my first car and I'm a first time driver, so I'm very happy with my order. This saves on my insurance and gas. I can't think of any reason to have an 8 cylinder other than just to say I have one.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on your purchase! If you aren't into the extra power, that's fine! But someone who wants that will buy it, not just to say they have one, but because they want that power in their car! It's great because there's a few engine options depending on what the buyer wants and will use! Sounds like you got the right car for you!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed those wheels and the Brembo brakes are NOT part of the HPP package. You only get those with the additional handling package. Same with the Magneride suspension. Please get your facts straight.
I watched and commented on the other Ecoboost High Performance video but I will comment on this one as well. I personally love all of the Ecoboost Mustang Manual cars, I think their very underrated BUT you bring up a great point about price and what I'm about to say here is important. I agree with you 1000% that I don't think someone should be buying that car for $47k. Years ago when they were still newer, they were MUCH cheaper. I saw a picture I took in 2018 that you could order a 2017 Mustang Ecoboost base (0 option) and with available incentives, cost $24k. And that you could get add the Performance Package to that and cost $27k (back then performance package was between $2,000 and $3,000, you didn't receive the badging, serial number, the appearance differences, as well as SOME of the other High Performance components, like the 330 hp/350 torque engine. You did get the 3.55 final drive, their own wheels/tires, better suspension than base, bigger radiator, the gauges in the dash, the 4 piston brakes, 18-20 model years got a spoiler as well. Performance Package and High Performance are two very different things but Performance Package stopped in 2020 for Ecoboost in favor of the High Performance.) I remember a Ford dealer having a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost in Yellow with Performance Package for $18k with 60k miles, the car was only THREE YEARS OLD at the time. So although I love the Ecoboost Mustang to the end, I think the greatest point right now is pricing for all the Mustang Ecoboosts, I just looked online andbrand new local inventory had manual non performance pack options in the $35k range, that's pricey!! To conclude, like you are saying, the Ecoboost Mustang currently IS a good car, but not for the money they are asking for them, they aren't a bargain like they use to be. I believe too that the used market for Mustang Ecoboosts are really high as well, I really thought the use Mustang Ecoboost would be $12-15k range by now, it's really in the $18-25k range for them used even for 2015 models, and that's HARD to justify, absolutely. So good video! (Note: I see you guys recognize the black Ecoboost you guys drove in the mountains wasn't the Performance Package, I think the review was good and fair but if you guys could change the description to let the audience know the car wasn't the Performance Package, I think that'd be great and fair, thank you!)

I get what you're saying but think about how many car guys care about buying a car brand new for MSRP. You can get a used one with about 10k miles on it for $30,000-$33,000 and 10k miles is still basically a new car. I just don't understand why people only talk about brand new msrp on cars when in reality most people don't care about that

@@BrayZap Just depends on someone's situation of course. If the S650 Ecoboost was a manual, I wouldn't wait to get one and therefore MSRP would be a factor for me. But absolutely you can wait a little and buy one with a little bit more mileage or age at a lower price. That's why I try to talk about both the new and used market, totally.
Great review bro, thank you! Hell yeah. I bought the 2022 vehicle a few months back for $41k because I had no credit. 29k? Hope you got it
47K is too much tp pay for this car. However, in my opinion, you neglected to address several key points, with regard to this trim of the Mustang Ecoboost and the BMW M240I. First, no one should be paying MSRP for a mustang. Ford is one of the few manufacturers with available inventory at most dealers now...and it is winter time. On the Eastern Coast of the United States, multiple high volume Ford Dealerships are significantly discounting their mustang inventory at/around 10 percent off the MSRP. A friend of mine recently factory ordered a 2023 Mustang EB HPP, albeit in a different color and minus the $1900 handling package. Total Out the Door Price (tax, title, license, and fees included) was $42,500. Add the handling package to his build, so it is built as the car you tested, the OTD price would be $44,400. Not too bad for what this car offers. Step up to a Mustang GT with the Performance Package, premium trim interior and the automatic and the price is above $50K. Second, and last point, the BMW M240I is no doubt a faster, better built and better handling car. But, will consumers be able to negotiate a deal to purchase one at the price of a Mustang EB HPP? Not likely. And let's also be honest in the fact the maintenance (especially after, let's say 3 years and/or 36K miles) on the BMW will be much more expensive and the cost to insure the M240i is will be more expensive than the Mustang EB HPP as well. For the money saved on the Mustang EB HPP, a consumer may upgrade the handling and power to equal and/or surpass the BMW240I. Will the handling and power increases added by after market modifications by a consumer to the Mustang EB HPP make it a better engineered car than the BMW M240I? No...BMW's are more expensive for a reason: they are (in general) better made, better designed sports cars and better engineered. However, for many people who don't want to pay the initial purchase price, higher maintenance and insurance costs on a BMW (or any German sports car for that matter), spending at/around $45K, including a few minor handling and power modifications is a relatively inexpensive (for cars in this day and age) manner to have a nimble, well-handling and quick/semi-fast sports car. Overall, well-done review, as always. Just a couple of points for you...and viewers of this video...to consider if they may be interested in the Mustang EB HPP or a BMW M240i. Thank you!

Hard to really talk about dealership deals and discounts since that varries. But the B58 in the M240i is a rock solid engine. Much more robust then the EB. And with the same amount of mods it makes way more power and the transmission delivers it to the ground so much better. For me even if the BMW ould be $5k more after a few years. It's such a better experience, I think it's well worth it. Now if the Mustang could be $40k, thats a big enough difference to sacrifice the performance and quality. But new BMW cars especially ones with the B58, are rock solid cars. My Supra made 500 HP and was bulletproof, as are all of the Supras. Ive heard nothing but good things with any car with a B58 and ZF transmission. The 10 speed ford trans and 2.3L I havent heard as many good things about. M240i is well worth it

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thanks for the reply. I think our discussion is more nuanced than your reply indicates. And to be honest, it isn't hard to discuss or "factor" discounts into the equation. Not trying to be argumentative miond you. Many people qualify for Ford's A or Z plan, there are multiple rebates offered by Ford for various things and for informed consumers who are willingly to do their car buying research and negotiate the Out-The-Door price, eight to ten percent off the MSRP isn't difficult to obtain at a dealership for a 22/23 mustang; so, price discount is very much in our discussion. And it will almost certainly be much easier to get a Mustang EB HPP discounted than a BMW M240I. The discussion point in my point wasn't relating to the B58 engine or its robustness in comparison to the Mustang. Rather, it is a discussion of a "Value For Your Dollar Proposition." For $45K, as used in my example, the Mustang EB HPP is certainly a better "price value" than the BMW M240I. And if a consumer is willing to forego the premium interior, a Mustang EB HPP may be purchased for 40K...again, discounts and price negotiation are key in the ability to make a 40K purchase a reality. I understand your experience with the Supra...and the Supra is a great car, with a superb and powerful engine. If a consumer purchased a 40K EB HPP and invested $5K in modifications, the Mustang EB would be very competetive to a Supra and even your modified Supra...for thousands less. In the end, I, and others I wager, don't agree that the M240I is the "Best Bang For The Buck." For $50K (or more) for a BMW M240I and $45K for a EB HPP...I'll take the EB HPP with the lower insurance cost, lower maintenance costs, "in the same ball park performance and handling as a Supra" (with a few modifications)...and save the $5K. Our opinions just differ in our preferences...which is perfectly fine...no issues :). Thanks for the review and your honest assessment...I appreciate honesty and integrity.

@@agm2062 you are making some huge assumptions on BMWs reliability. BMW is ranked 3rd in Consumer reports behind Toyota/Lexus. I would just say that a more fair comparison to this EB Mustang would be the 230i M sport, even though you could get a RWD M240i for under $50k if you are willing to wait 6 months and not check any options. I picked up a 230i m sport for $44k and I’m not 100% sure if it is faster but I know the B48/B58 is going to be more reliable long term and it definitely feels far more special than a Mustang. There are Mustangs around every corner in my neighborhood, they are great but they seem to be a dime a dozen. My BMW turns heads everywhere I go, nobody cares about a Mustang with all do respect.
@agm2062

@@postalpanchoReliability ratings are, at best, subjective to whomever is doing the review/survey. A better...and more accurate...indicator is the opinion and advise of certified mechanics. Many certified mechanics advise their customers/consumers to either sell or trade their expensive German built cars after three...or so...years and/or 36K miles, due to the expensive maintenance costs that these cars typically require after that period of time. And there isn't much argument...in my opinion...that a BMW should "feel more special than a mustang" for the average price difference between the two. Nevertheless, for $45K, a properly configured base trim level Mustang Ecoboost with the HPP package (for about $40Kish OTD cost) and $5K in modifications will all but certainly show its tail lights to a 230I and it will "be in the same ball park" as a an M240i...for thousands less. And I would also disagree..most respectfully...that many people "do care about mustangs"....if no one cared, why has the Ford Mustang been the best selling sports car in the WORLD for seven consecutive years? Pretty difficult to imagine "Nobody cares about a mustang" if the Ford Mustang is the best selling sports car in the WORLD....for seven consecutive years.
