2022 DRIVER TEST | Which one is going in my bag?

Спорт

There so many brilliant drivers to choose from in 2022.
To determine which one I'll be using this year, I decided to take six of my favourite models onto the golf course for a head-to-head battle.
The six drivers I test in this video are the Callaway Rogue ST MAX LS, COBRA LTDx LS, PING G425 LST, Srixon ZX7, TaylorMade Stealth Plus and the Titleist TSi3.
I’ll let you know what I love about each driver, as well as some aspects that aren’t quite to my personal taste.
Watch the video and see which one will end up in my golf bag for the 2022 season.

It's so true that each one is going to perform differently for someone. I have the TSi3, and tested the Stealth+ and Rogue Max LS, and the Stealth was good, loved the feel, but the Rogue I just couldn't maintain spin on, and it was just falling out the sky. Didn't buy the Stealth because I don't think over time that face will hold up to club golfer bashings, and constant range ball use. You just need to look at the used market to see how much abuse golf clubs take.

The triple diamond for you may bring the spin down, but I completely agree, the performance and forgiveness combination is unmatched this year with the rogue line and I usually don’t hit callaway drivers very well. I ordered one myself and can’t wait for it to come in👊🏻

I have tested the Triple Diamond, and although it did help to bring my spin rates down, I struggled to see the same consistency as I did with the MAX LS. On the pure strikes the Triple Diamond was longer, but the drop off on my miss hits were more severe. Still a great performing driver, but personally found the MAX LS the better fit. Brilliant, hope you enjoy your new big stick. DC

Another good review David. Your Titleist continues to work particularly well too, so the Callaway must be exceptional. As standard shaft lengths seem to be getting longer, unless you can generate high levels of clubhead speed to cope with them, what is your view on the benefit, if any, of ordering with a 45” shaft, for the average golfer. Callaway have flirted with this in the past and it is a pity if the option is not made available to demo with the new Rogue.

I love so much about the G425. Incredibly forgiving driver, especially the MAX model, and as I said in the video, cannot fault it when it comes to performance. The look and sound, however, are just not to my liking and that is purely personal. Personal preference plays such a big part in choosing the right clubs for your game, that's why it's great to have so many good options out there, the PING very much among them. DC

I can relate to all of your choices. I chose the Stealth for 2 reasons. First, I used to be a heavy spinner (Maverick), just couldn't get it under 3.000 rpm, no matter what. When I started testing the Stealth at 9.5°, I immediately saw the spin come down to a little over 2.000 rpm (and adding 20ish yds in the process). Second, sound, feel on the clubface and feedback from it was so overwhelming, I just went for it and never looked back.

For years have been trying to find a driver that I really like, gives me reliability, confidence and I like the sound and feel of. Since my M2 have not found one though owned and tried several since. Until now - as a leftie did not have the opportunity to try the ltdx nor the rouque st unfortunately as I have the epic 3 wood and super hybrid in the bag. Tested the ping (hated the sound and looks though had ping before). Nevertheless I really like everything about the Taylor made stealth and it is performing very well, and inspires me with confidence. So for I suspect next couple or more seasons that is the driver in my bag. Love the sound, feel and looks of it too. I am not brand loyal in fact have 7 different brands of clubs in my bag according to what worked best for me. Now that I have sorted the driver my bag is complete with everything that works well. One day may try out the roque st if the opportunity provides itself just to know what everyone is talking about re stability. But won’t change from the stealth. Also tried other brands including pxg and srixon for example. Happy golfing

I haven't had the chance to test the Mizuno as of yet. If, however, it follows in the footsteps of the last few years' models then I'm certain it will be a great performer. DC

Pointless testing unless the same shaft is used throughout..as its more important than the head alone

Tested all the wrong clubs. Should be TSi2 not 3, ltdx not LS, Stealth 10 degree not 8 etc. Nobody is going to use these clubs, catering to the 1% is not going to get you subscribers 🙈
