2022 Dakar-winning Toyota GR DKR Hilux T1+ in action at Goodwood Festival of Speed!

This video is fully focused on the 2022 Toyota GR DKR Hilux T1+ pick-up driven by Nasser Al-Attiyah alongside co-driver Mathieu Baumel and wiith which they triumphed in this year's Dakar.
This Rally-Raid monster is powered by a new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, developed from the unit featured in the road-going Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport. It produces 400hp (limited by FIA regulations) and 660 Nm of torque. Overall vehicle weight is set at two tonnes, in line with 2022 racing regulations.

Because much like the GT-R, this Hilux DKR T1+ is also using a Petrol Twin Turbo V6 (sourced from the new Land Cruiser 300 series)

I wish the production Hilux came with the V6 from the Land Cruiser as well, even though they would probably ditch the manual gearbox.

Man, imagine a GR Hilux with the LC300 V6 (which this Dakar Racer also uses).
Sounds like VQ series V6. I guess firing order and bank angle make them sound similar? idk

Firing Order is on most of the V6 engines the same, its the header if equal or non equal length.

Wonder if Yamaha was helping Toyota. V6s sound like Yamaha's F300 or the Yammie's SHO VMax VF250.
Well the rear lights do look like on a Hilux

Probably because Toyota have learnt a thing or two from Yamaha who made their own V6 outboard, similar way to Nissan GTR's engine.

Yamaha is using an all new plasma sleeve technology on their F225, F250, F300, VF200, VF225 and VF250. Similar to what Nissan did on their VR38DETT.
