    So … being inspired by your video… I decided to get myself a $7.00 white cutting board off Amazon, used the studs you used, and whipped up a little set up in my 2021 Camaro 2SS convertible. Now mind you, the wiring on the Bose harness was a little different for me, due to not having rear speakers where a coupe would have them, and also, I can’t put a box in trunk, due to the convertible top, so I ran two “under the front seat” 8” amp/sub speaker combo boxes, to each side, but it added just enough bass to the already amazing sound. Appreciate your video! Wish I could share the image of my completed project, it looks great!

    Super clean work. What is the frequency range of the signal borrowed from the factory Bose amp? Which specific wires did you tap into (colors) and which speaker were they for? I was bummed when I found out the PAC audio interface wasn't compatible with the Bose system in the Camaro 2020 and newer

    i tried to ground along that same area but more next to the battery ground and it still reads up to 1.0. i sanded it down to the shiny metal also, drilled a hole and still within the he it reads above .05. any thoughts on where i can ground for more efficiency? thanks for the video install.

    If your still concerned, then try the negative post on the battery. It's probably going to be hard to get under .05

    Where are you testing from? From the battery terminal? Your resistance could be in the OEM ground cable, the terminal, the contact point etc. As far as grounding goes in general, it doesn’t get much better than a few inches from the OEM lug. Let me know what you find 👍

    Definitely. You just wouldn’t be grabbing signal in the same place. If it has ANC, the module will be where the Bose amp is and you can get it there. If it doesn’t have ANC, you will need to run to the radio module in the right side of the dash.

    And if your not lucky enough to have a bose amp to steal your signal from? Where would you tap into the rear speaker wiring to get your speaker signal?

  • @Columbuscaraudio

    @Columbuscaraudio

    I would actually use the front signal. The rears in a lot of vehicles these days are “quieter” and can be bandwidth limited. If yours is an earlier 5th gen that has 6x9s in the rear deck, then using the rear speaker signal isn’t an issue 👍

    @@Columbuscaraudio I've actually got a 6th gen. I wanted to make use of the rear speaker signal going to the small speakers next to the seats. I just don't wanna have to remove the rear seats and all the interior pieces just to tap into the wire.

    @@Blakehenry11 ok, so that being the case, you definitely do not want to use the signal going to those rears for subwoofer signal.

    Thank you, that means a lot! Unfortunately when we did this, we didn’t realize there was really a market for the amp mount and fuse holder bracket. On some vehicles (trucks and jeeps for example) we know we’re going to do a ton of them, so I’ll make templates. If I get one of these in sometime soon, I will recreate the mounts and update this 👍

    If there is no amp or ANC module in the trunk floor, then you have to go directly to the radio module. It should be in the passenger side dash near the glovebox.

  • @Columbuscaraudio

    10 ай бұрын

    I’m going to be completely honest with you, it is fairly complicated. Properly interfacing with OEM systems isn’t as simple as it used to be. We see it everyday. It gets especially tricky on OEM amplified setups like in these Camaros. It is possible to damage the Bose amp if interfaced with incorrectly…and you guessed it…THEY’RE FREAKING EXPENSIVE 😅 Long story short, if you’re inexperienced or uncomfortable doing the job yourself..take it to a professional. Parts-wise it’s pretty straightforward. Audiocontrol LC2i to convert high level signal at the OEM amp to low level RCA, amplifier, subwoofer and enclosure of your choice, and the appropriate sized power wiring kit for the amplifier.

    why not PAC Audio?

  • @Columbuscaraudio

    @Columbuscaraudio

    Жыл бұрын

    Several reasons. The biggest one is that they don’t have coverage for these after 2018. The input side of the Bose amp uses a form of Ethernet. The only thing that was on the market that interfaces with it at the time of install is a Metra part. The Metra piece is meant as a full amplifier replacement solution…meaning that it wouldn’t be the ticket for a bass only upgrade unfortunately. The other part of it is cost. An LC2i pro is $149, whereas the Metra part is $629 with no real added benefit for this particular client at the time 👍
