I just traded in my 2018 X3 with 50k miles on it. It was flawless for 5-years. One recall for cooling flap actuators, oil changes and one set of tires. I bought a 2023 X3 M40i and it’s a blast to drive.

Fantastic in-depth review. Thanks for confirming some of my thoughts as a person that is interested in this segment. I purchased the 2022 X3 M40i it's a game changer. Best in class and it's very quick. The 382 hp X3 M40i paired the 48 volt mild hybrid engine makes POWER to the X3 M40i flat-out... FAST! The 48 Volt does two things very well. 1. Helps to smooth the start stop function. 2. Acceleration ... "this thing just glides!"

I tested the Q5 and the GLC. I bought the GLC and have it for 9 months. The best car ever. Great drive, I just love it like other owners of the GLC in groups I am in.

I also chose the glc over the q5. Better interior, felt lighter and actually more responsive. Also better entry level sound system. I'm not an audiophile but the Audi one is weak without upgrade. But the glc audio is passable to me.

I have 2018 x3 4 cylinder. Best of both worlds. Handling and ride quality above and beyond the rest. Get the bmw you will not be dissapointed. Plus with gas prices going up to 10 per gallon you will be a very happy camper.

You made a perfect video. I should've watched it before buying my car.

I test drove an Audi suv - underwhelmed - too much plastic in the interior. Still love my Lexus RX.

I agree. I was looking to upgrade from my 2020 Hyundai Tucson ultimate and the Q5 just didn't seem like enough of an upgrade, which surprised me. I ended up going with a 2022 BMW X3, and I couldn't be happier

Great video. All the points that I also found when searching for a German SUV. The BMW won out for me. Went with base model X3 Drive 30i with MSport package, 20" black staggered wheels. The BMW has a fabulous (torque converter)ZF 8HP transmission, a great (B48) 4 cylinder turbo engine. The Audi is a mild-hybrid in all Q5 offings and a DCT transmission. All the Mercedes-Benz are also mild hybrid. As is the M40i BMW, all good, except I did not want the extra complication of a 48 volt mild hybrid. He is most likely correct in that ownership after the warranty is financially risky. No doubt the Lexus is long term more reliable. I have a feeling that I'll (actually my wife) be back in a Japanese SUV after 3 or 4 years in the BMW. The driving experience though, vs. Japanese in general), isn't even close to German cars. But the BMW is most sporty.

Nice X3 review. Oh, and Audi and MB make a small SUV too.

Give me the X3 all day brother! We have a RDX and it’s a really good car, but I know that can’t compare to the X3 and Q5!

Bought a x3, not crazy about it. Tried to buy an Acura, closest dealer is selling for 7k over MSRP. The car is pretty, but not pretty enough for that.

I test drove the X3 and the RDX. I went with the RDX. Just drove better to me. SH-AWD was definitely better than xDrive to me. Cornering and handling in the RDX is really great! I wanted a GV70 but no one in my area had them on the lot.

I love bmw x3 but I afraid from problems in future

We’ve owned a X7 with the same engine and it’s phenomenal. The luxury, ride quality, functionality and adult 3rd row are superb. We tow the boat and can’t even feel it, other than the higher gas consumption. Because of the high satisfaction will be trading my Q5 for an X3. I test drove both more than once and agree, the M40i is a beast sports car like drive and my emotional choice, the 30i however is more the daily car, nimbler for driving around town and highway, but not strong enough for towing. My first car with start stop was the Mercedes and have gotten used to it and work fine in my opinion.

Quick question, if you were to choose between the Toyota Corolla cross and the Ford Escape Hybrid which one would you get?

Faced with this choice…I would get a better job.

Q5 owner here...its true car repair cost...ouch..with 42k miles after 5 yrs.. an adblue leak costing £2300 is painful. Wonderful driving and feel but these repairs are sudden and unexpected which car taint the ownership.

It would be nice if you have included Volvo xc60 in comparison

I bought the 2022 x3 xdrive 30i, and plan on keeping it long term I don't drive many miles, maybe 5000 per year and my past 2 bmw's never went in for a single repair in all the years I owned them, I would have bought the 40i but the wait time ordering was 5 months and with gas ⛽️ prices continuing to climb, I went with the 30i I've owned Mercedes in the past, I hated their a,b,c,d service, and audi is nothing but a fancy Volkswagen

@@hicham1987ema the 40i will be a thirsting vehicle, I just didn't think it was worth 10-12 thousand more for some of the options not available on the 30i, but the b58 is a fantastic engine, I had it in my m240i, I traded in

Reviewer Is more of a BMW guy…

I currently have the x3 and hated the start stop function. It’s also had a big blight spot with the side pillars for the door. I think the GLC would be the Best Buy overall.

I have to agree. This guy kinda dogged the Mercedes but I really like mine so far.

I drive a BMW X3. Wonderful driver. No problems....yet.

@@Sumitsharma-4404 if money is just some digits in your account, then buy it. You will like the drive. If you are leaving paycheck to paycheck this car will probably give you mix feelings towards aging. I ended up changing every piece of the engine parts. One day steering wheel hydraulic got broken i was about to crash. Also if you are buying a used ine, i would not buy it unless you knew the owner etc. I have mercedes glb now. New glc is on the way. I would wait for it if u can.

BMW also has free maintenance for 36 months.

X3 feels better quality

BMW IS THE CAR TO BUY BUT THE BUMPY RIDE IS AN ISSUE. I GUESS THE AUDI WOULD BE THE NEXT PICK BECAUSE OF THE RIDE.

I wouldn't "invest" in any of these. If I want a luxury smaller SUV/CUV, there's only one choice...LEXUS. That why we have a Lexus UX.

GLC hands down!!
