I think if these aren't selling, it's because A: people haven't seen or driven one. Or B: people haven't seen or driven one. This car checked every box for me, exclusive, luxurious, high tech, exhaust is loud and crackly (if you want it to be), room for my dog in the back seat, exhaust doesn't sound like farts like almost all of BMW's I6's right now, and fast. So fast!

The shape of 850 is so sleek and nice. It’s a nice mix of sport and luxury

It’s subjective but I would argue that more people think the Porsche Taycan, Mercedes GT 63, Audi RS5 Sportback and others look better and are far more unique in appearance. Still, the 8 series is a good looking vehicle.

a7 def better looking overall. but 2 door 8 series is def most beautiful car in many other categories

I drive an 840 now and have driven 5s and 7s for years. The 8 is the best of them all.

the 8 series design is definitely the best modern bmw design in terms of curves, shapes and grill size

The reason why I see a lot of people not going with this car is the base price point is too high. Not many have seen it either or even driven one.

This is essentially exact thing I have in my older 650i, same color way. Def gonna upgrade to 8 series soon enough. Wondering if the sunroof is still just tilt or if full slide now. That was huge disappointment.

Now im owning a 2012 650i coupe used, i hope to get this m850i in 6 years from now because when the 6 series came out for the 106k i wont even dream to own one which i do now i hope the same goes for this m850i.

I think this is one of the sexier ones the 8 series I do love this

I feel like it doesn’t sell as hot because the M3/M4/M5 are cheaper and more practical. Faster too I believe. This is just more of a grand touring vehicle but the price is much higher.

0-60 M8Comps are uniformly tested as 2 or 3 tenths faster than the M5comp. M3 and M4 are much slower by at least a half a second. Yes, M3 and M4 are cheaper but as a past owner of five M3s, two M4s and a M5Comp I bought new off the lot, and an M8 Comp I have on order, I tell you that a M5 is much more practical than a M3 or M4, and I assume the same of the M8. 'Tracking' a M3 or M4 vs. a M8, the M8 will win.

Mine arrived at port a few days ago. Should be at the dealership around Thanksgiving. Had the car a bit over a year now. What it really needs are wider tires. Running 305s in the back now. Looks way better.

M850’s correct price is around 20% below sticker.

Porsche just have a stronger brand name though.

Look I own a B6 Alpina this car just doesn't do it for me. It's like the Nissan Titan of the class. Middle of the road on everything. Not to best looking or the most exciting. I would rather get a C8 or E63s

Despite I like BMW , these things depreciate like shxt. Porsche’s value keeps way better especially when you buy a new used one in a good price, I sold my 2017 991.2 c2s (bought in 2018) recently with a profit, while my buddys 2019 m5 competition bought new the same time now worth 70k while he paid 135k cash back then. So, bmw sucks in maintaining its residual value

LOW SALES : As your father our GF would say, Benji while you're collecting COVID 19 unemployment checks ( 60% of normal ) you DON'T buy a NEW car or house. ( Let alone a 8 Series Luxury ! Performance ? Beamer, Porsche, M -B, Lamborghini, Ferrari etc. )

Beamers are notorious for being reliably unreliable. And any European made car is expensive $ to repair due to the middlemen markups between Europe, NYC and your local parts store or dealer. Then there's the labor rate. $$ Plus, if your VW Jetta has a Y hose going to the radiator that may be a dealer only item due to the special mold expense. $$$ I don't know if BMW quality has gone up considerably in the last 10+ years but I used to say BMW suffers from Pontiac Syndrome. A Great looking car but made crappy.
