2021 YZ85 MX Track Crash

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This was our first time out to the MX Track this year with the kids on their YZ85, YZ65, CRF150R, me on my CRF450l and my dad on his CRF230. We went out to the Airway Heights MX track. The day was going great and the kids were having a ton of fun but we unfortunately had a big crash at the end of the day. We decided to share it in full as this is part of the sport and we can all learn from riding techniques to get better

I agree with you about showing kids that there's more to life than just playing video games. I don't have anything against them. I have played a few times myself. But the stories your kids will tell their kids won't be about how high a score they once reached on a video game when they were 12 years old. Instead they'll be showing a video, and talking about how much fun they had with their dad/grandpa out on the track. A much more interesting story to pass down from generation to generation.

I tend to play games Nov-Feb while I rest and get ready for next summer. Tried skiing a few times and swelled my knee like a balloon too many times so quit. If I ever get the funds I might do a snow bike though. When I think back to games I am really fond of the old Mario and sonic games and their music. But my stories aren’t about video games. To each his own but I guess the real message is to have more than one hobby. Experience a few different things in life

Good dad, good kids. There isn’t a better way to grow up than riding dirt bikes. Wrecks happen, but they also build self confidence. I know many men that are scared to ride motorcycles. BTW, I bought a 450rl this week. I’ve been watching your videos.

Glad to hear he ended up ok! Liam was a little more timid the next time at the track. That specific track is so hard pack I think cooling it is good. But then my dad said at his property he was riding as fast as ever so I had to explain to him what hitting a tree will do to you. I hit one at 35 once so I know. Thankfully I bailed off

Just came across your videos 👍🏼 I grew up in the 80s riding with my Dad on 3 wheelers, fast forward I have 2 sons about your ages on KX65 and CRF 150. They started riding around 6 on 50s and we do single track woods riding. Totally agree with getting them off Fortnight 😂 and out in nature, learning about mechanics and taking care of their bikes. My oldest crashed the same way as yours ( on the one jump in our riding area) and broke his collarbone. It healed fast and back riding. But I think we will stick to trail riding and stay off MX tracks 😄. Making memories is what it’s all about 👍🏼👍🏼

Hey Dad, I'm glad to hear that Liam was ok. I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism...IMO, you were often times riding far too close to him. Especially at a point in their riding when they are still learning the fundamentals, this can be distracting or may just make them feel they have to push harder to "beat dad". Ride with them, but give them some space...keep getting that throttle therapy!
