2021 Washing 3/16” Maple Tubing

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

3/16” tubing has its advantages and disadvantages. One of the cons is the way bacteria can build up in the lines reducing production from year to year. To combat this we have switched to 5/16” drops and are washing out our lines at the end of each season. This video shows the way that we are able to wash out our 3/16” tubing.

I modified a garden sprayer to accept my 5/16 line's, just pump it up and throw the sling over your shoulder and away you go, didn't know that chlorine turned to salt, that's good info.

I have heard about folks doing this…great idea. Is your solution able to keep contact in the lines for 15 minutes or more? I read that is what it takes to kill existing bacteria in the lines.

@@southdownfarm6323 that's something I've been reading about recently so I have to work on that, but it does flush out some of the nasty looking floaties. I flush my lines after season and then again before the start. I'm just a really small hobby producer, might even get up to 20 gallons a year some day.
