Here we have the Volkswagen Caddy Life, as you can see it really is something special.
This is the first van that I have reviewed and I must say I was very impressed, the drive of the caddy is spot on and you cannot tell the difference between driving this and let’s say a Volkswagen Golf.

There is plenty on space inside the cabin, large door bins, light abs airy and should you wish to add more storage the caddy also comes with roof rails for you to also add a roof box which is a massive bonus.
This model does come with seven seats, there is the option of removing the extra two seats making an even large boot space however it is then down to the owner to store the seats.
As you will see within the video the caddy also has two sliding doors, one on either side, you would automatically think that these doors would be heavy and hard to pull open however the doors are extremely light and very easy to open.
The only down side to the caddy for me personally is the fact that it is a little higher to transfer into compared to say other vehicles however I can get in and out and once I was inside I was very happy with my findings as it has all the mod cons such as cruise control, DAB radio, Apple car play, android auto, Bluetooth and also a built in sat nav should you wish not to use your mobile phone.
This caddy is simply brilliant and is perfect for those who are looking for something that can provide a great amount of space but still keeping the feel of an ordinary car.

as of this post vw have stopped sales of this model to motability due to the unprecedented amount of orders , we know , wee been waiting since September for ours , we chose this car as it was the only type of this car available last September any ware in the market , we know lol we searched , the Motability guy layed it all out to us in an update days ago

great vid...I have the mk4 which is amazing.. Its a shame the new mk5 design is poor and VW have cut so many corners to save on production costs.
Great review, thanks for this. I'm looking at it as a tiny camper van project, and your review really helped. One question, did you try the adaptive cruise control, and lane assist? I've read that combined they can be used as sort of a semi autonamous driving mode on the motorway "travel assist" I think it's called. Would love your thoughts on that. Also how does the interior sound on the motorway? One think I dislike about my current caddy is the road noise, cant even listen to music it's so loud. Thanks in advance!

Hey thanks for such a great comment 👍🏻 I did try both lane assist and cruise control and I have to admit both are spot on totally faultless I suppose it could be classed as semi autonomous driving however you do need to keep your hands on the wheel at all times 🤣 The road noice is pretty much non existent if I’m completely honest with you, I absolutely loved this caddy as you can see in the video the only issue I had was the height to transfer in and out as I tend to personally struggle with taller vehicles however for others this may not be a problem Honestly if it was being toying with the ideas of buying one I most certainly wouldn’t entertain anything else as this has absolutely everything you need. If I can help with anything at all please do let me know 😎

Hi thank you for your comment, so this has the 2.0 Diesel engine and it certainly does produce a great amount of power 😎

Should you wish to purchase this through the Motability scheme and you can justify why you need this particular vehicle then they maybe able to help you through they’re advance payment grants department, definitely worth looking into 😎 I do hope this helps

This is currently the cheapest 7 seater automatic on the Motability price list that's suitable for Autochair Scooters and wheelchairs. £1700 Deposit all other 7 seaters are currently 5K plus as MPV's are being pulled from production like Sharon, Alhambra etc.
Must have been a monday morning car, the steering wheel is on the wrong side 😁
It's currently only £313 advance payment! Let's hope the stupid green nutters don't force the price up before I change cars. Carbon zero my backside. Is there anything more ridiculous than running cars using batteries made from rare earth metals. Just strip mine the entire planet, why don't you.
