Volvo moving all of their SPA2 platform cars to Android Automotive 2022 which will bring the infotainment up to more than competitive to the german luxury brands. Same interface as the Polestar 2 and XC40 recharge (pure electric). Will be awesome to see this car with that updated infotainment.

@@OutOfNameIdeas2 I mean, sure reliability is nowhere near Toyota for example, but the new Volvos do well if you take good care of them. Not like some others which are truly "disposable". As for the environmental stuff, I don't mind genuine attempts at an eco-friendly car, but what grinds my gears is when other industries which pollute heavily yet can easily be made eco-friendly are allowed to run wild.

Having the option to go fully electric is definitely pretty cool with the T8, but I'd imagine all that extra weight from the battery and motor would put some additional stress on the T6 engine when the battery is depleted. Can’t say about this S90, but in my case with my 2010 XC60 the 4C active chassis control was SO different than those without it. It could be a very comfy and soft luxury family suv or a brutally firm “track suv”. And I agree with your multi-Volvo statement. Uncle had 4, I had 2. My first was actually his old S60. I love Volvos, these are classy looking cars driven by great people 😂😂 In France, well you can be sure German car buyers are crazy drivers but I guess the way you drive in the US is different and more relax. I love this S90 and the interior is so elegant and refined, with these beige leather seats and a two-tone steering wheel plus the wooden trim on the dash. One thing I noticed, no ambiant lighting in any Volvo interiors and that's something I would want in a premium cars for 60k. I like the wheels also, they look elegant. I said a lot elegant because Volvos are beautiful. They are not supposed to be sporty cars because that's not what Volvo car buyers are looking for. And Volvos do a great job being a premium comfortable daily driver.

Seeing one of these on the road is unusual and very satisfying. I do think not having a 6 cylinder in it hurts its sales. It's not changed very much since its introduction. As for more physical buttons, the newest Volvo interior is the Polestar 2. It has the same amount of physical buttons as this car does. Not many. There's no new concept Volvo to look at but the new Polestar Precept also has a minimum amount of physical buttons inside. I don't like all the black gloss on the console. I prefer the wood slider to the black gloss plastic. Otherwise, interior is chic.

As a two-time S90 owner (a 2018 and now a 2020 R-Design), it’s my opinion that there’s not a better looking sedan on the planet, and Volvo gets so much right about this car: exterior and interior design, packaging, etc. Having said all of that, I don’t think they’re particularly engaging cars to drive. One man’s “balance” is another man’s “wow, this is neither sporty or comfortable”. Count me among the latter. The ride is relatively harsh (and yes, I have the 4C adaptive suspension), and the power trains are downright course in execution. This is a GREAT sedan in search of a more refined ride and V6 power train.

The North American market receives the same vehicles as the chinese market, these S90's are longer in length. The T8 cars are for sure to lease. The smart thing about Volvo moving to all 4 cylinder engines (besides being for safety and crumple zones) is that all of their engines are based upon similar components this entire generation. They are optimizing and getting more reliable as the generation continues. I’m sure it doesn’t hurt their their supply chain either and it does seem to help them catch any potential engine related issues. I haven’t had any issues with my recent T5 Volvo. I heard a lot of 2015 T6 (super+turbo) engines having issues early on, but not many complaints of high mileage 2018+ engines. The only downside of modern Volvo’s is they only give you 1 freaking key with the car.

these s90s (and xc90s) are much less supple than i thought they would be. and i don't think there is that much of a difference in interior quality compared to the v60/xc60. i think i would buy a v60 even if i could afford an s90/v90. but, the turbocharged/supercharged/hybrid system would be pretty cool to drive i think.

I own an S90 R-Design and have driven all their current models. They are indeed very similar in quality. But there seems to be a slightly higher level of sophistication with the 90 series. For example, the 90 series R-Design & inscription trims have nice ambient lighting strips on the dash and all four doors (white). Also illuminated door sill plates too. Either way, you can't go wrong with any model at this point. They are all great!
