2021 Toyota Venza ENGINE OIL CHANGE

I had this Toyota Venza for 40k miles and I did another oil change. I have been the only driver for the past 2 years and it’s been easy to maintain but I have a few Pro and Cons. I will be talking about them in my next video.
This is a detail oil change with all the tools need and a few tricks that come from experience. So I hope this is helpful for anyone serving a 2021-2023 Toyota Venza.
The tools you will need for this are.
1. Any 10MM to remove the plastic cover. To access the oil filter and drain plug.
2. Any 65MM oil filter cup or any adjustable oil filter tool for your engine oil filter.
3. Any 14 MM for the drain plug.
Also you will need:
OW-16 full synthetic
Oil filter
Crush washer
Drain pan
Last put the engine oil cap back on and reset the engine oil light. This should take you about 1 hour of your time if done right. Your vehicle 🚗will run like a champ. Im expecting tondrive my Toyota Venza for 300,000 + MILES. 😊☕️

I hope 🤞this is helpful and be carful because this work is dangerous. So if you dont feel like you can do it just drive up to a Jiffy Lube or Grease monkey. They will change your oil with no problem. It will cost 💲 you a bit more but you save time. If you have most of these tool. Well your off to a good start. The oil filter cup in my opinion is the most important one.
Last thing you have to reset your maintenance required light.

I was told to change oil every 5k miles to keep your engine clean. Despite the manufacturer requiring 10k miles, it’s always good to change every 5k miles.

That is true but expensive because 0W-16 is more expensive and it’s designed to last 10k. I tend to push it to 8k because that’s a pretty sweet spot for me. Anything after 8k-10k you will see a drop on your gas mileage. This is a gray area that I have heard a ton of debate and if you do your oil changes every 5K miles and can prove it. Your car is worth much more when you put it up for sale. I would buy your car instead of a dealership used car because I know that you have taken car of your vehicles engine.

Hi Adrian! I am from Malaysia and I just imported this Harrier G (Venza in US) Spec recently from Japan. About to service the car. May I know many litres of CVT FE transmission oil needed for this car?

This is probably the only thing I don’t service myself. This CVT can easily be overfilled or under filled so I take it to the dealership because they take responsibility for overfilling or it’s not filled right. This is probably the thing I hate the most on this vehicle because the RAV 4 and the 4 runners are so easy to service. I’m sorry for not having the information and the know how to help.

@@newb387can you help to check the receipt how many litres they charged you? Since I parallel imported the car, I didnt send to the local dealership and instead to my foreman. I am buying replaceable parts and oil myself and let my foreman fix/replace it. But Toyota oil has a lot of counterfeit products. So I plan to buy generic CVT oil but their oil does not mention FE or TC. That is the problem.

So how many qts of oil those it take

  • @newb387

    @newb387

I put in 4.4 qts I buy the 5 quart container and I remove 20 ounces. 32 ounces in 1 quart 16 oz is half of 32 but I take out an additional 4 ounces to equal 🟰 20 ounces. That leaves me about 4 quarts and 16 ounces +or- . I then run it and check it. In different locations because some parking lots are more level than others. I hope this was helpful.

Don’t know how long you keep your cars but 10k intervals are too long

That’s what I thought 💭 but 0W-16 is certified to last 10K. I had a ton of older cars and 3K was it but the synthetic oils where not invented so modern vehicles have been restarted to last for the 10k. The oil looks super clean from 5K to 9k. I had to test it and run this test on my own vehicle but 0W-16 on this Toyota Venza will not fully break down and will last you 10k. I personally don’t push 10K. I change my oil at 7,500- 9,000 miles. It will give a schedule maintenance light at 5,000k miles so you change get tires 🛞 rotate and oil fluid changed but most people will get their oil changed as well and this light reset. The maintenance light 💡 will come on at 10K. So if you do your own services you can check your own fluids and rotate your own tire without having your oil changed and save some money. I bought a 2021 and a 2023 Toyota Venza and I’m about to run it to its first 10k miles and it runs smooth at 8k miles with the same oil. I’m probably going to run it 9K or see when I get a maintenance light. This is text from an article mentioning a similar point on modern cars and the use of full synthetic. In general, though, modern cars can manage 5,000 to 7,500 miles between oil changes. If your vehicle calls for a blended or full synthetic oil, you can push that to 10,000 miles. Old cars (i.e., those that date back to a time before synthetic oils became mainstream) will have relatively short oil-change intervals in comparison. Thank you for the question and I hope my answer was helpful. 😊☕️

The problem is it might last 10k under the right conditions like highway miles but lots of stop and go and short trips in cold weather will definitely degrade the oil. So in that case stick to 5 k intervals just to be safe. My Genesis said every 7500 miles but as the reasons I said above do it at 4500 miles so I do it every 2k because with the direct injection the oil get black within 500 miles. I guess every car is different also not just the driver

@@frankv64 Correct! Driving conditions is a big factor to take into consideration. Every individual must take that into consideration. I push it close to the 10k but I do all my checks periodically and prior to a long weekend drive. I usually take this to Oregon, California or Canada 🇨🇦 for a weekend getaway. 😊☕️

On the pinch weld. The pinch weld is the piece of steel that runs on both sides of the car. It sticks out about 1/2 inch away from the unibody frame of the car and is usually tack welded for additional support. All vehicles with a unibody have it. So look up pinch weld images and examples on how to lift a car. I really hope this helps. Ask me more questions if you are not sure 🤔 after you look up pinch weld and it’s always good to ask if your not sure.

Get yourself a low profile Harley-Davidson oil drain pan, I can change oil on a G37x without jacking up the car using that. Depending on the car, you might have to get used to doing things by feel alone as you will only be able to fit your arm under the car.
