Land Cruiser defines what a true flagship should be for auto manufacturer.
Many people reviewing the LC in America and elsewhere don’t actually bring it off-road and showcase what it really is capable of. This video distinguishes itself in this respect. Bravo!

Yeah but in their defense it’s a $90k vehicle. I’m a Toyota fan for life but the 4runner and Tacoma are kicking the crap out of the Landcruiser for a reason. I really hope in coming years they can remake the LC as a cheap, under $25k off roader with bare bones tech but still bulletproof Toyota reliability

This is the ultimate SUV with the body-on-frame, off-road capabilities and comfort. I own 2006 Lexus LX 470 that is based on the Land Cruiser 100 series (They had very similar interior/exterior back then than now). I wish Toyota would sell Land Cruisers in Canada as well as in US.
As much impressed i am with land cruiser, i am more by the hard work u put into making this video.... Placing cameras on tripod along the path on deep snow.... That too alone.... 🤩🤘 Salute!

You have the best car reviews on the internet. Informative, no stupid cut scenes or crappy music. Just excellent views of a vehicle doing its thing. This is my dream vehicle. But I have a 2020 4Runner TRD Off Road and if I am honest, it is hard to justify the Landcruiser when you spec out a 4Runner properly. Both are made in Japan, both can be had with all the off road kit, both have bulletproof powertrains. But the 4Runner has better payload, angles, aftermarket support and is more economical to operate. That being said, I still want a Landcruiser😂

@rightlanehog3151
3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewputnam7486 Since you mentioned Sequoia, we have to ask whether the next Sequoia will move closer in design and capability to the biggest Land Cruiser. As things stand, Toyota sells about 1,000 Sequoias per month and probably 10-15 times that number of Land Cruiser 200s per month around the world. They have stated that Sequoia production is moving to the Texas Tundra plant as the Tacoma exits for Mexico. Is it worth the money and effort to design and engineer another North America-focused Sequoia that is substantially different from the big LC? What will become of all the production capacity left where Tacomas once filled the factory floor? It is not implausible to imagine 4Runners being built in Texas. Does Toyota think the new Tundra will have double the appeal of the current model that sells around 100K per year? Hard facts are difficult to come by for the next generation of TMC 4X4s but I guess we will have all the answers in 12-24 months.
I've got one. TDV8. Love it. Won't change for anything else except a new one.

just bought a manual 2010 forester. I live in Portland and have been experiencing the snow storm just like you and Ive got some Bridgestone blizzak winter tires on it. it is TRULY an understatement to say tires make all the difference. having a great awd system from subaru is awesome and a big plus but it wouldn't do anything if it weren't able to put the power to the ground via good tires. watching videos like this just makes me excited for the day Im able to get one of these vehicles
@drivingsports

I still have snow tires on the 1990 legacy. It’s basically the same all wheel drive system. So good in the snow.
We have a LC200 as our family weekend car. Blizzaks for the ski season and no complaints.
Used to have a UK LC Colorado, as it was known here, with the 3L diesel, so nothing like the power of this engine. However, it never let me down, and nothing could stop it. I live on the side of a mountain in Scotland, and part of the track that comes up to our house is just straight up the hill, 1:4 slope; we have had it with an inch of ice and 2" of snow on top on that steep slope (Michelin Latitude Alpin tyres), and it could handle it no problem. It was an older version, without the fancy electronics, but had centre and rear diff locks. Coming down you just put it in low-range 1st, locked up all the diffs, took your feet off the pedals, and it was go down sweet as a nut at a walking pace. Going up, low-range, diff locks, some momentum, and you always knew that it would recover from any slide and pick it back up again. I miss that truck.
I took my Defender out today, knee-deep snow, not a single issue. I didn't even need low traction launch. I also have Goodyear Dura Trac tires, which were great on all the surfaces (deep snow, compact snow/ice). I love your channel.

I sure hope it got you back without any teething issues. If Toyota doesn't bring a 300 Series Land Cruiser back to the USA in the next few years we may have to consider other alternatives. The Defender looks nice and is capable but I'm not sure what to think about the durability. TFL had a time with there new Defenders. I hope they get the bugs worked out, because there isn't a dealership for 3 plus hours from my house.
Nicely done. That is a one true off roading capable suv.
thank you for your video!
Awesome video, as always! Seriously my favorite car channel. I would love if you would do a Mazda CX-5 snowy off road video, or Mazda CX-30, to see how the trail mode works and compares to other crossovers. I know it totally doesn't compare to this beast off road but figured commenting on the newest video from you has the best chance of you noticing :)
Watching that behemoth go totally sideways when you first had to use mts. Just affirmed there is no substitute for lockers. If that had been a narrow trail it would have taken out the whole side of that beautiful rig. Great review, thank you for taking it off road!

Thank you for the review. I just bought one and live in the northeast and will primarily use its capability for snow driving. I must point out one error that many many of these reviews make. At 9:10 you talk about "sport" mode and having to manually shift. That is not what that is. It is simply referred to as S mode and all it does it set an upper gear for the transmission. If you put it on 4 it will only allow the transmission to shift up to 4th gear. It is not a sport mode or manual shifter. Otherwise a great and informative review. Many reviewers make that mistake. It doesn't hurt the quality of your video or content. Thanks.

So I have had my 2021 HE for over a year now and it is truly the best vehicle I have ever owned. Some reviewers have complained about how old many of the features are, but the thing is that they all work flawlessly, and that is the point. There just is not as much to go wrong. The only things I have added are rock sliders, front, engine, and transfer case skid plates and BFG K2’s. I have not found a trail it can’t handle. I’m sure they are out there, but I’m not trying to climb cliff faces either. Based on what I have seen, I’m really not that sad that the 300 did not come to the US. I think the Lexus looks ridiculous. No way I’d ever be seen in that thing.
