It was inevitable for Mercedes-Benz to stuff their largest SUV with one of the largest & most powerful engines they produce at the moment. At $168,000 CAD, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS 63 AMG 4MATIC+ is the ultimate in Mercedes-AMG luxury.
The handcrafted 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 produces 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque (450 kW & 850 Nm). In an SUV that tips the scales at almost 2,700 kg (5,952 lbs), it can accelerate the GLS 63 AMG 2021 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, according to Mercedes-Benz.
The 2021 GLS 63 AMG 4MATIC+ does a great job of being a comfortable SUV but it could be slightly better. The 23-inch monoblock wheels are wrapped with low profile tires which look really good. But you can feel sharp bumps being translated into the cabin. For a little bit more comfort, you can opt for the standard 22-inch wheels or go down to the Mercedes-Benz GLS 580 with 21-inch wheels. That one also has the same air suspension system.
With a starting price of $160,900 CAD ($133,150 USD), the 2021 Mercedes GLS 63 AMG is actually $5,000 CAD ($8,150 USD) less expensive than the starting price of the BMW Alpina XB7 and a whopping $43,000 CAD ($46,350 USD) less expensive than the Range Rover SVAutobiography. So in a sense, the GLS is a bit of a bargain. However, this being a German vehicle, the options list is still enticing you for your money. A fully loaded Mercedes GLS AMG with all the options will cost $197,250 CAD ($158,960 USD). This particular demo vehicle had an as tested price of $167,700 CAD ($147,930 USD).

    From what we can see, Mercedes has built a very large space for the legs under the steering wheel and if you were to sit in the seat correctly, i.e. at the right distance from the steering wheel, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Highway Code - that is, the elbows should be properly bent at an angle of 45 degrees, holding the steering wheels at the height of an hour 9-10 am and 2-3 pm. Your position behind the steering wheel is incorrect, you are sitting too close to the steering wheel and your elbows are at a very high angle, which is dangerous, especially in an emergency when you have to react quickly by turning the steering wheel of the car, which in your case will be impossible and you will cause a traffic accident. As we can see, you are not a trained mechanic and your comment is whether 600 KM in a car whose weight with passengers and luggage exceeds 3.0 tons is correct or not? This engine power will be needed to prevent the car from being involved in an accident in the dengerous situation.. Too little power, it could be too little and the car would not be completely out of trouble. And that's the truth, because the engine's power is not just about driving it quickly, but also safely. Therefore, I would like to ask you not to comment in the future on what engineers all over the world are doing to improve safety on our roads, and if someone does not know about it ... please do not speak about it ...     Take a look at this video from Porsche as racing driver Patrick Long talks about the best driving potion. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mpZtpbeaicrRnMY.html His chest is closer to the steering wheel than my chest is at 8:13. Of course we have different size proportions as do a lot of other people. My legs are longer than my arms so if I moved my seat further back, my arms would be even closer to being completely straight (as I said in the video). The steering wheel was already in its most outward position. Plus I don't have an issue with protruding starter buttons in a Range Rover or BMW or Audi. I'm not complaining about the safety of the GLS but rather the placement of the starter button. As for your second comment, I don't understand what you're getting at about the engine's power. They make the GLS with less powerful engines too.

    John, you totally need to get laid. Now, if you could just tweak that less than winning personality of yours, and put yourself behind the wheel of this beautiful and expensive super-Mercedes (to pad the bet a little), you might just accomplish that.
