You’ve sold me on this. I know a lot of people are upset because it did not come in a v6 but this is perfect for me. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It has all the features i want, plus all wheel drive and fuel efficiency. I was considering the Nx300 but wasn’t necessarily ready for an SUV yet. I have to say it is a bit pricey and I’m going for the luxury model so hopefully I’ll be able to purchase it around this time next year.

I own one in F Sport trim fully loaded and I love it. While it’s not as quick as I prefer it fits my needs as an AWD sedan with good fuel economy. We recently got quite a few inches of snow and the ASD performed way better than expected. I never got stuck or was concerned about being stranded even where ppl in FWD cars were getting stuck.

I hope not cause the dial and touchpad systems are the better and safer way to go and more people need to learn to use it. Most youtube reviewers don't drive a car for more than a few weeks but living with them for a few months or years is better than touchscreens ,you become adjusted like changing gears or clutch and don't even look at the screen to change things.

I can answer why the rear seats don’t fold down. On certain Toyota sedans models and certain trim levels of sedans Toyota does a huge strut tower brace to stiffen up the chassis and dramatically improving handling which won’t allow the seats to fold. My Dad drove Camry LE’s from 202-2016 which all had fold down rear seats but my Camry SE and XSE didn’t and it’s the same way in the Avalon’s. If you go back to the trunk shots in this video, you can see the top part of it and the bottom 3-4” is covered by the carpet. The opening with fold down seat would be so small it would be laughable

Also the AWD is not torque vectoring. It’s called dynamic torque control. The AWD system is taken off the base Rav4. It doesn’t have the torque vectoring like the rav4 adventure, limited, TRD, or the Highlander limited or platinum. In fact no Lexus has a Torque vectoring AWD System like Toyota does

@@HomesByStrand torque vectoring? A traditional AWD system can usually send up to 50% of engine power to the rear without front wheel slip. Note that in this case both rear wheels are getting 50% of the power Toyota’s torque vectoring system in this case, what it does is that it can send 100% of the 50% of power going to the rear mechanically side to side to a single outside rear wheel It’s similar to Acura’s SH AWD but the key thing is that the Acura system can send 70% of engine power to the rear in limited circumstances since it’s a front wheel biased system. But it can send 100% of that 70% of power to the rear mechanically side to side just like thr Toyota torque vectoring

With this Trim ES250 there’s no reason for the Avalon to exist.. and No one wants a 4 Cylinder in a LUXURY VEHICLE!!! Lexus used to mean V6 or V8. They didn’t even offer a 4Cylinder until 2016 and it was a 2.0Turbo in IS200. This 2.5 is gonna be what the IS250 is now. Even tho the first ES was an ES250 but it was still a V6. And Since Lexus did killed the GS The ES350 should’ve been AWD Standard! Even My 2012 Lexus IS350 is AWD so I know Lexus can do it.. I understand not putting AWD in a V6 Camry for high cost but in the ES yeah. ES350 could’ve been an Audi Competitor!!

Auto manufacturers need to scrap the sedan body style altogether and switch to lift backs. A traditional sedan is so limited in what you can transport and it sucks that one has to drive a suv to have that functionality yet have to deal with a top heavy riding on a barstool feeling.

They are way cheaper because the ride quality, quietness, smoothness, material quality, design, and dealer customer experience are unmatched by Toyota. You do not get an ES just for the V6. You get it because everything else about it makes it a luxury car. The Camry, Avalon, and ES are all in three different classes. The Camry is a standard midsize, Avalon a standard full size, and ES a luxury midsize. If you’re shopping for just the engine, and not the luxury, then you shouldn’t be cross shopping a Lexus.

The center stack design has a huge amount of dead-space below the AC controls. There was plenty of room to bring the 12” screen forward and make it touch. That would allow eliminating the touchpad and allow the cup-holder to be combined instead of separate. It’s just extremely poor design and not acceptable on a Lexus. These problems were on the last gen as well, so Lexus choose not to listen to customers. I would recommend a new Venza Limited instead of any ES.
