It’s a safety feature once the car gets to redline which is 5,750 on the K5 it shifts for you, the camry does it too but before red line so on that it’s even worse

i think it disables when u turn tcs and stability off (by holding traction button) not sure though.

It won't let you BLOW UP the engine. Is that what you would like to do??. They do have a warranty they want to protect. And not have some idiot who drove it over redline...and demand a new engine saying this one was defective....

Not only does it look great, it feels great. Super comfortable even on lower trims. It's an amazing car, no matter what anyone might say about it.

I have a 2012 kia optima sx-t spicy red running strong with 75k miles on her. I see she still change gears on her own while in sport mode lol

I own this car and love it. I only wish Kia would of added wireless CarPlay instead of the nature sounds. Have no use for that. It either makes me have to go to the bathroom or go to sleep.

You gotta admit, even if this is a Kia, this is an AMAZING car. Seriously considering buying this over other cars like the Accord or even the Crosstrek. This is an AMAZING mix of comfort and sportiness which is exactly what I'm looking for. It's reliable, good looking, and the top trims barely scrape over $30k. This is such an amazing deal.

@@kenh9681 It's an option only for the Korean market I believe, along with a different shifter. US K5s are stuck with analog gauges until they decide to bring it over.

Actually, tyre noise is worse. Did soundproofing on my Optima straight after the purchase. Tried K5 on test drive - same problems.

It's FWD. This is essentially the Optima, except they're now referring to it by the South Korean name.

Not recommended brand ...with my country...btw honda is good spare parts

Korean cars have developed and their prices are close to Japanese and American, and this will affect their sales
