Just bought an RTL and really disappointed at the lacking EQ settings. Also there is a weird issue that when using Apple CarPlay it cuts the sound level when bass hits even when the volume is low presumably because Apple CarPlay pushes line level audio to the head unit which may be too hot at times. Aftermarket EQs can’t help that much either since it is happening at the input side.

I know it’s a little late but maybe if you tried the usb stick in the lower port down in the center console storage. I saw a video where someone was able to download a picture onto the usb stick and upload the image to the infotainment screen…

I just bought a 2021 RTL-E and the sound system is awesome, better than my 2018 Accord EXL. I listen mostly to academic lectures so I may not be the best judge but I like and I haven't even tried to make any adjustments.

Sirius/XM is the most common asked for audio feature. Unfortunately, Honda has a way of "blocking" getting Sirius/XM in the base models of most of their models, so when purchasing you will "upgrade" to a much more expensive vehicle such as the Touring or RTL. How does this work with the "base" model, Ridgeline Sport Radio? Need to add additional equipment? Just a subscription? Your review didn't even touch on this!

Oh, it makes a difference all right. It makes the "cutting out" issue on bass drum hits even worse. I listen to mostly hard rock/metal, and have had to turn my bass and sub down to reduce the annoying fade. Hoping I can upgrade the amp to solve the issue without having to swap the whole sound system. And here I thought the days of terrible factory systems and aftermarket decks were over once i got into 2000's era vehicles :(

I own one as well, I'd give it a rating of a D or even F. For a truck of this price I expected much more. I had to replace the tweeters the very first week I owned the truck because how bad they were and the subwoofer location seems to be really bad. Whoever sits in the rear passenger seat just gets blown with so much terrible sounding bass and probably can't participate in any conversations if you don't turn down the volume to a minimum.

Am thrilled with my 2021 Ridgeline! What an amazing design, motor and transmission! That said, am very disappointed in the Audio System. Come on Honda! Try harder! You create a world class vehicle, and put an shit sound system in it. How do I upgrade this system and not have to rip out the Apple Play interface? Any quality replacement powered speakers and sub that will fit this otherwise primo ride?
