If your thumb gets wet or muddy seems like it will be slippery to press. I couldn't imagine doing whoops with a thumb throttle.

That thing is Fu$%ing sweet bro! (besides the thumb throttle😂) Cr500s are about as bad ass of a dirtbike as you can get, and swapped into that frame makes it look so good! Honda should be making those bad boys from the factory!

They never will there is not the market for them they might sell 5% as many 500s as they would 450s there is just to much competition in the market now and profits are lower than ever so unfortunately its not going to happen.

Simply stunning, I think this is the most beautiful 2 stroke 500 I have ever seen, if the factory were to release a genuine CR500R 2 Stroke in 2021 I think this bike would look 99% accurate.

Bike is sick and then you pointed out the thumb throttle, wth? I want the bike because it's a 500 in a new chasis, love it to death, just put me on a throttle, braaaaaap

Looks cool and like the conversion bits. I still think an airbox is needed and not just a filter w skin.

I (think) it may or may not need an airbox. I think it would need dyno testing to determine if power is being lost with this set up.

thats so cool these new ones are so convertable, I built a few on mid 2000s 450s the Y was too low so had to do a lot of hacksawing. 85 1/2 short rod motor with balanced rebuilt crank it ripped!

I own a 1994 CR500, this NEEDS to be a kit for the new aluminum frame bikes. I would buy one in a heart beat! Keep up the amazing work and GREAT job with build. Incredibly clean and practical for the everyday mechanic to convert to aluminum frame!

@@dennismillus4581 I have spent many hours on the buult500 website and google images, but BVC has made a complete Bolt in 500 kit.....thats a game changer. In that aspect it opens up new doors for the average mechanic to make a af500 without being a professional welder or buying a AJ Wagner service 500 frame.

Nice bike I like the 250 to 500 conversations but the 4 stroke conversation is nice and a little more work with the motor mounts and kicker gas tank. Really nice bike. Any 2 stroke conversation is good with me we got to keep the 2 stroke alive and strong.

Awesome!! I knew a couple guys back in the 90s that raced GNCCs in dirt bikes with thumb throttles, you need to take that to Southwick for the 500 shootout with Ken Kaplan

That bike is very nice n well bulit....I used to have a KX 500 those an the CR 500s are a different breed...they are WICKED!!!. Wished I'd of kept that ol KX 500 an restored it back...nice welds btw

Sadly Without a counter balancer it would be horrible ... BUT. We will be experimenting with the KTM300tpi motor with possibly a BRC big bore... or waiting on Panthera to release their new motor

That thumb throttles super unique. I was iffy on it at first like,"thats not supposed to be there?!" But its cool. Might as well change it up from the norm so its not norm lol.

I think that 500R is bad ass man! I’d respectfully suggest putting a pipe protection kit around the header pipe so it stays undamaged

I’ve owned and built quite a few CR500’s… I’ll be out there in a few months and would love to swing by and check it out… I have a 2022 CRF450 on order

Looks awesome, seeing the adaptor on the bottom of the tank and having all that extra space above the carb, I wonder how hard it would be to build a tank extension into the free area to give more fuel range for longer rides. Great work

It could be done ... i would add a Y fitting on the fuel line and have an extra tank
