Hi Zimm! I really enjoy your channel.. I have a 1968 SG Special that I bought in 1973. All my heroes back then played SGs.Specials back then came with a trem unit which was really just bent steel thing that didn't stay in tune so everyone that had one removed it and top wrapped the strings. I eventually bought an intonable top wrapping bridge from Pigtail. That made a big difference with tone transfer. Peace, Rick

That is awesome!
I bought this same guitar two days ago. I am so glad that I did, it is amazing. If you have a chance to get one, just get it. That foam square thing that you showed it goes in between the strap button on the far right side and the case. Its just for some extra protection.
Mine is 1 month older than the one in video. Absolutely love it!
Great video, thank you.
Beautiful guitar.
I have a 2023 black sg version of this guitar and holy crap if you’re like me and guitar weight is an issue this is the guitar for you. Mine is barely 5 lbs and it almost feels too light 😂. Love this guitar.
Nice ! I Love SGs' Had a '64 Std i should have fixed in the mid '70s then two G400's The first MIK from '95. Family knew when it was out of its case because of how good it smelled. Dead notes and money trouble, its gone. Second MIC rocks. JT55 TPR a Special type. $249 when i turned 50 nearly 15 years ago. I dig it.
Thank you for Watching!!!!!
Outstanding guitar ‼️😎🔥🎸. Want one 😘❤️
I got to see this at the shop, it's fantastic. I have a couple of dozen SGs dating from 1972 through 2008, and haven't been impressed with them since then. However this 2021 / 2022 (great catch Paul, Dane that makes it somewhat unique since it is documented) has a level of quality I haven't seen for a long time. It's got a slightly wider but very thin neck more like a shredder, not the round fat neck usually on a Gibson. Imagine a SG Shredder with P90 tones like Santana at Woodstock, Leslie West of Mountain, Tony Iommy of Black Sabbath and sweet fat clean tones. This thing rocks like never before.

Hi there Are the sgs have tuning issues?

@@dimitrisaivaliotis5616 There is a standing joke been around for decades. If the G string stays in tune it's not a Gibson. I have alot of Gibsons and I find that to be true. Not all, but some. It's not as bad as some say but every time I take one out of the case the G string is flat. If I'm playing a gig I just check it occasionally to make shure. Not a deal breaker.

@@dimitrisaivaliotis5616 If the nut is cut properly you’ll never have an issue👍
Tony Iommi would love that thing!
Paul on the show 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is that 8 coats of nitro the same for all Gibson guitars or just the sg? What about the Les Paul special
Actually Specials have had binding, whereas Juniors don't.

Correct- original sg specials have binding & all came stock with P90’s- they also had mother of pearl “Gibson” logos unlike the new versions that have silkscreen logos. He might’ve been thinking of all the SG special faded and other budget “special” models that Gibson’s put out the last 20 years. Gibson uses the term “special” way too often. They even had a “special junior” awhile back 🤦🏻

Come on guys - SG Specials have pearl Gibson logo, bound rosewood boards with pearloid dots, white button Kluson tuners, 2 p-90's and a "Lightning Bolt bridge. The bridge is always meant to be top wrapped and is not the same as the tailpiece on a Les Paul. Maybe do a wee bit of research before your next presentation. Beautiful guitar!
The instability on an SG is at both ends of the neck.
I have a ‘71 EB-3 that still has the vanilla smell because it’s in such good condition.

Lucky you, always wanted a EB-3, I am a big Jack Bruce fan. My first bass was a 66 EB-0, that I picked out for my 13th birthday in 76. When I got a little older I wanted the EB-3, but got a 77 Fender J and never got around getting the EB-3, I stopped playing for almost 30 years and just started playing again about 2 years ago and the first thing I did was to look for a EB-3 and wow, way to much money for one. Still have my EB-0 and plenty of other basses but still want the EB-3. Should have gotten one long ago, it's the sound of late 60's early 70' bass sound.
nice guitar
Do not turn those allen head screws with string tension. Sad but true. It will not work and it's very hard on the allen screws. That is a beautiful guitar and I wish it was mine.
8 coats of nitro is just overkill!!
what is wrong with that guy lmao, "smells like a day shift stripper" 😂
When you say " Ohm out the pickups", you sound ignorant. It makes it clear you dont understand what you are doing. There is no such thing in electronics as ohming out. There is measuring resistance or impedance. It sounds as ridiculous as saying you are going to "yard out the football" or "degree out the thermometer". But you be you. You "you out" you. :)
What a whiny voice that guys got. Had to turn off
