2021 EDC Keychain Setup Featuring Nitecore TIP SE, Gerber Dime, & Jibbon Key Organizer | 555 Gear

2021 EDC Keychain discussion and review featuring Nitecore TIP SE, Gerber Dime, and Jibbon Key Organizer by 555 Gear
Happy New Year to my subscribers! My first video is a long vetted keychain gear discussion. I talk about how I believe I found a balance of current and relevant everday carry designs while still keeping it practical and not flashy. Works well in my pockets and has easy access to most of the tools that I need on a daily basis. Not flashy but surely practical!
Gear featured:
Nitecore TIP SE Flashlight
Gerber Dime Black Multitool
Jibbon Key Organizer
Magkey Flat O Ring

Good set up, like the way the keys are housed. I have a Leatherman Squirt PS4 and a little Photon Micro-Light on my chain. Served me well so far.

Happy New Year Andrew to you and the family. Flashlight looks like a good idea, pepper spray might be a good option as well.👍

SAK Classic CD, Olight i1R2 E05, car fob and occasionally a Nite Ize Doohickey, pill fob or whistle depending on the circumstances. Lucky Line Twisty and locking S-biners. Sometimes the SAK will be replaced by a Micra.

The gerber multi tool looks very good . I carry the sak classic , its good for what it is , but the gerber wins hands down .

That flashlight is cool, but I mostly just use my cellphone when I need lighting. I do like the compact form. I have a similar key organizer. Probably of lesser quality but still very useful.

Cell phone for me is so critical I prefer not to run the battery, but good reminder it is there!

I would carry the spray as it is another level of threat mitigation. Animals or drunk people for example. I have a key smart with a minute key inside for bottle opening and a separate ring holding an Inka pen, Swiss classic, photon freedom in red and a fenix e05. Then I have two key fobs for two vehicles and a pepper spray. This is all riding on a petzl ange s carabiner I usually ditch the second key ring for more refined edc components. But lately I’ve enjoyed the grab n go this system affords me.

I prefer keychain tools as small and light weight as possibly. :) Flashlight is on AG3, as it's needed rarely.

Hey Andrew, nice work as always sir - we share similar taste in gear/watches/boots ✅ highly recommend Alden Indy boots for a ‘21 grab, and would make for a great review

my nite eyes s carabiners kept falling off, lost my olight 1ir keychain flashlight because of it. initially i really liked my nitecore tip, but kept turning on by itself in the pocket, flipped the pocket clip to block the switch but was still an issue. might be because its usually not in my pocket by itself, but thats just how i carry. after about a year and a half the usb port wouldnt accept a charge anymore. gave up on it and switched back to the new olight i1r2. the original i1rs didnt work for me because the lens would constantly unscrew itself and i would lose it numerous times, the new ones eliminated this problem where the lens does not come off anymore.

I have an original nite core tip cri and I have no trouble. Mine has a lockout mode where I press both buttons simultaneously and then they can’t turn on in your pocket.

Wouldn't the upgrades you suggest for the Dime raise the price to the pot that it is no longer an attractive tool to loan out without fear?

I carry keys and a separate set of lockpicks just in case I lock my keys somewhere accidentally. I also carry a flashlight, knife, watch, multi tool, wallet, and phone. All come in useful to me. Some people can get by with just a phone with electronic locks, phone light, phone pay, phone clock but I don’t mind the extra stuff as it is useful to me and I like reliability and redundancy.

That weight is horrible for your vehicles ignition.
