Ive had my 2022 DS for the past month and just love it - such a fun bike. Does everything fantastic (at least for my style of riding, backroads, occasional trail or water crossing, but 70% on-road country mountain roads). A work of art to look at too!

I rode the 2017 around the car park of my nearest Ducati dealer in North Eastern Thailand and absolutely loved it

I love your description of the bike. I recently purchased a 2018 and it’s really a fun bike. Definitely not the fastest but it’s just enough. On the dirt it does ok.. this bike makes me feel like a kid again. Thank you for an honest review.

Ah I'm glad you're enjoying it. It's one of those 'just right' Goldilocks bikes. I still think about having one as a second or third bike. Ride safe!

Haha glad I could help! Can't believe I filmed this 3 years ago this week. All those greenlanes have been graded now to the extent I could probably do them on my MT10…

I have this bike and adore it. Yeah, the case can be made for the Triumph, but it's going to set you back almost five grand more. And come on, it's a Ducati!

Nice video Tim. Really enjoyed seeing someone really enjoy themselves on two wheels in the mud, in Surrey.

Funny watching this back Tim, fancied one of these but got the Yam XSR700 XTribute instead, would like that chassis but with the CP2 motor, which I think is a more fun motor to rev out.. Tenere obvious choice but prefer the retro looks. I really like the MT60RS tyres over STRs, Not sure if Fantic 700 has any more ability?

Mine picked up power above 6k once through the break-in interval. It's a linear build nonetheless.

From memory it was just a bit of a scuff to the bar end, but it was in soft mud. Enjoy your new bike!

Don't know why I want that bike so much? Guess it's simple, retro and reeks of Steve McQueen. I'd like to park it at a coffee shop, (pub?) just kickback, relax and look at all the cool.

im sad this livery didnt come early ... got my XSR couse i didnt like the colors of the desert sled ... kinda thinking if im not regreting getting the xsr since i do some offroad too with it. still great review

I think the Triumph actually has a more characterful engine - I've done a video on the Scrambler recently :)

Great video! Not a basketball player like yourself 😂 (5’9) think the height is still fairly manageable?

I think it’d be sick to get an 1100 or 1200 but it’s a desert sled so keep the tires 🤘🏼

That was a great video. I’m looking at getting me one of those. Need advise: I’m 62 years old, 6’3” tall inseam 33 . Have ridden a tiger and GS . You think i could handle one. I’m not going off-road but definitely some twisty mountain roads and of course city streets. Thank you

You’re as tall as me so you’d be fine! Don’t expect it to be quite as light as you might think, but it’ll be a fair bit less bulky than a Tiger and GS.

Im 20years of age and i just got mine a couple of days ago. I am only 6feet tall and im just fine. Also you can always get the accessoire seat so it drops the seat hight quite a bit.

Great video !!! Im 6ft3 and trying to decide between this and the triumph scrambler 1200 XE, which out of the two would you say would be more comfortable for someone my height ?

Sorry for the late reply. Both were perfectly comfortable for me - I think you maybe feel a little more protected on the Triumph, but it's very close

Maybe if it had a cam chain like every Japanese bike does. Servicing the cam belt every 6-7k miles sounds way too annoying.

Actually you have to service that belt every 24k km or around 18k miles IIRC.

@@Blockbuster2033 Well, you did not remember correctly. A quick google search will show you that they want you to change it at least every 2 years. And it is not cheap. You can save money doing it yourself but you could destroy the engine if you do it wrong because it is an interference engine. Or you can just buy japanese and never worry about that.

@@Msalazar6sicVI Turns out we are both correct. It should be replaced every 15k miles or 2 years. I personally ride about 15-20k miles in two years so that's a non issue for me personally tbh. And I would also do it myself as it's not that hard. I totally agree tho, that the engine would be a better engine if it had a chain (or two actually) and a conventional valve actuation instead of that desmodromic bs, frankly it revs to 8500rpm and really wouldn't need it. Throw some bolt and locknut adjusters on there and it would be one of the easiest and cheapest engines to work on. But eh, they wanna make money and they wanted to have this legendary engine in the bike and wanted to do minimal effort redesigning it. At least they did redesign it with modern materials and state of the art manufacturing technics. And it passes euro5 after all. So TLDR: the engine could be better and simpler and more reliable, but for me personally it's not a dealbreaker.

Instead of picking up the bike straight away like a man, his first instinct is to take a picture for social media so that he can get „ likes“ and feel validated like a woman.
